Su Li made some porridge and, after a moment’s thought, steamed an egg as well.
Little Tang Mo loved steamed eggs. They were soft and nutritious, so it would be best if he could eat some.
Su Li finished up as quickly as possible and left the kitchen.

Little Tang Mo had a sweet tooth. Su Li had bought him candy before, but never much at a time. She worried about cavities and limited how much he ate.
Wu Sheng obediently pulled it back.
"Little Mo, how about we get you washed up and change your clothes?"
Su Li picked up Little Tang Mo. "Let’s go pick out some clothes first. Why don’t you point to the one you want to wear, Little Tang Mo?"
Little Tang Mo didn’t make a sound, but he obediently wrapped his arms around Su Li’s neck.
Wu Sheng watched them go, winking at Little Tang Mo as he spoke.
"Su Li, don’t worry about it. I’ll keep an eye on the kitchen for you."
Su Li glanced back at Wu Sheng and nodded.
Little Tang Mo didn’t pick any clothes, but he didn’t react much when Su Li chose for him either.
Once he was all cleaned up, the porridge and steamed egg custard were ready.
Little Tang Mo ate half a bowl of both the porridge and the custard, which made Su Li ecstatic.
After eating and taking his medicine, Little Tang Mo fell asleep on the sofa.

"I’ll go downstairs and buy something. We can eat together when I get back," Wu Sheng said, standing up.
Su Li was quiet for a moment, then got up and followed him to the door. "Wu Sheng."
Wu Sheng turned back. "Hm?"
"Wu Sheng, I might adopt Little Mo." Su Li bit her lip. "I’m sorry..."
"Blurting something out like that out of nowhere, then tacking on an apology... that’s so you," Wu Sheng cut in.
"Hold on. I still don’t even know what’s going on. Wait until I get back. After we eat, you can tell me the whole story, and then you can tell me why you’re thinking this way. It won’t be too late to apologize once everything is clear."
Wu Sheng glanced at Little Tang Mo on the sofa. "You get some rest. I’ll be right back."
Wu Sheng closed the door from the outside and left.
Considering Su Li probably didn’t have much of an appetite, Wu Sheng bought some light, refreshing dishes. As Wu Sheng kept putting food on her plate, Su Li ended up eating until she was mostly full.
After eating, Su Li relaxed considerably.
"Alright, tell me what’s going on." Wu Sheng boiled some water in the kitchen and poured a cup for Su Li.
The news had already spread, so there was no need to hide it. Su Li briefly explained the situation to Wu Sheng.
Wu Sheng listened, a look of ’I figured as much’ on his face. "What are your plans now?"
"Abuse and attempted murder. I’m going to sue Mrs. Tang." Su Li checked the time. "I’ll prepare the documents and submit them as soon as the court opens."

"Regarding Mo Jianjun’s situation, I’ll have someone investigate—his family, what happened back then. We need to get a clear picture of everything."
Su Li nodded along with each point Wu Sheng made.
"Yes, that’s what I was thinking too."
Wu Sheng looked at her and couldn’t help but smile. "But you’ve been thinking about this for a while, and you haven’t been able to do anything yet, have you?"
Su Li sighed helplessly. "Yeah. I can’t be in two places at once."

He paused, then asked, "Do you know anything about Grandma Cui’s family situation?"
"A little," Su Li nodded. "The Cui family has two sons and two daughters. The older daughter is Little Mo’s mother. The younger daughter is engaged but not married yet."
"The two sons have already split from the main household. Grandpa Cui has mobility issues and lives with the older son. Grandma Cui lives with the younger son and daughter."
"Ever since Grandma Cui got sick last time, she hasn’t been in good spirits. I don’t know what her condition is now."
Wu Sheng nodded. "Based on what you said, if the news has already spread around the family compound, then Grandma Cui’s side should hear about it soon. They’ll probably come to see Little Mo in the next couple of days."
Su Li nodded. "Yeah."
"You can’t rush these things. Take it slow. Mrs. Tang isn’t going anywhere."
When Wu Sheng stopped joking and spoke seriously, his voice had a magical quality that was both convincing and calming.
Su Li felt it deeply. She nodded. "Okay."
"I understand why you want custody of Little Mo, but that’s also something that will take time."
Su Li nodded. "I know."

Little Tang Mo was asleep on the sofa. Carrying him into the bedroom might wake him up, so Su Li decided to just rest on the sofa as well.

"Okay. Go to sleep. I’m going to your study to make a few calls."
Hearing Wu Sheng agree, Su Li fell asleep in no time.

After making a few calls, he came out and quietly washed the dishes.
When he finished tidying up the kitchen and came out, he saw that Little Tang Mo was awake.

Little Tang Mo glanced back, then lay on the sofa without moving a muscle.
Not two minutes later, an impatient look started to creep onto Little Tang Mo’s face.
Wu Sheng noticed and pointed to the bathroom, asking softly, "Need to use the bathroom?"
Little Tang Mo gave an almost imperceptible nod.
Wu Sheng smiled and gently lifted Su Li’s hand off of him.
Little Tang Mo immediately sat up and put on his shoes.
He went into the bathroom, and Wu Sheng followed, pulling the door to for him. "Knock if you need help."
Little Tang Mo didn’t need any help; he managed on his own.
Coming out of the bathroom, he quietly tiptoed around Wu Sheng and went back to sleep beside Su Li.
Wu Sheng chuckled softly and placed Su Li’s hand back on him.
Only then did Little Tang Mo close his eyes, content.
