"Hey there, Little Mo." Yu Le bent down to get a closer look at the boy, his gaze slowly tracing over Little Tang Mo’s face. After looking him up and down, he sighed emotionally, "You’ve gotten so big."
His tone was full of feeling, and with a complex look in his eyes, he reached out to Little Tang Mo. "Want Uncle Yu to hold you?"
Little Tang Mo looked to Su Li for permission. Seeing no objection on his face, she nodded.
Little Tang Mo had only taken a single step forward before Yu Le swept him up into a hug.
"Uncle will carry you inside." Holding Little Tang Mo, Yu Le let out a contented sigh and looked over at Xiao Ren.
"Thanks for your trouble."
"No trouble at all." Xiao Ren was already back at his post.
"I’ll take them inside now." Yu Le looked at Su Li. "Ma’am, let me lead you in. Give me your bags, I’ll carry them."
"It’s not heavy. I can manage," Su Li declined.
She hadn’t brought her own luggage, just Little Tang Mo’s. With a small bag on her back and another in her hand, the load wasn’t heavy.
"Let me," Yu Le insisted, holding Little Tang Mo with one arm while taking the bag from Su Li’s hand with the other. "I can handle it."
Seeing Yu Le’s genuine smile, Su Li didn’t argue. Instead, she asked, "When do you expect Tang Yuanxiao to be back?"
"Let me get you settled inside first, then we can go find him in a bit." Yu Le paused. "Ma’am, did you come straight from the train station?"
There was a hint of concern in his voice.
Su Li smiled. "What is it?"
