Chapter 201: Bearer of Light

Everyone got comfortable for the night, Eliza and Lilly talked quite a bit, and the rest of us started to get some sleep. We’d definitely need the energy for tomorrow.

When I finally start to drift off I could see the darkness forming around me once again. I was back within the abyss, the place that I could find the most comfort in nowadays.

It was a safe place for me to fall back on whenever I needed to. I’m sitting back on the throne again this time as well, which is kind of nice.

"I believe you wanted to change your clothes a bit." Rika speaks up with a soft tone.

"Precisely. I don’t want to stick out with fancy clothes in a place full of demons." I respond calmly.

"Then let’s switch it up. Do you have any ideas in mind?" Rika asks with a bit of curiosity lingering in her voice.

"An all black robe, give it some wear and tear, black shirt for underneath, pants, and shoes." I answer.

I definitely had plenty of time to think about a good outfit to wear and honestly that’s where I’m at now. The fancy clothes can return later on when I’m not dealing with demons who don’t like humans.

But Eliza didn’t really seem to have much of a problem with me, unless she couldn’t tell that I was human.

I doubt that would be the case though since humans are definitely quite obvious in terms of presence alone. Or maybe that is something I’ve grown to understand more.

After a few moments I look down to see my clothes have completely changed from what they once were. It was perfect, it didn’t make me stick out so much.

"Is it good?" Rika asks with a nervous tone.

"This will definitely do." I respond with a smile.

"I’m glad I could help." She says with some relief in her voice.

Rika wasn’t really the one who helped me with this originally but I’m glad that she could this time around. I wasn’t too sure how I was going to go about it.

This whole journey has been a huge guessing game for me with each step I’ve taken.

I learn something new everyday and I think most stuff has been pretty helpful. I’ve just got to figure out what needs to be done in each realm before I can move forward.

Probably helping out with some of the issues in Ashline would be a good start.

Before I could say anything else to Rika... The whole place disappears as I open my eyes to the sight of Eliza before me.

Her hand lightly moved along my cheek. "So you do go to the abyss. Maybe you could help me with restoring the light to my realm." Eliza says quietly.

"What do you mean by restore the light?" I ask while keeping my voice down.

"I am the bearer of Light. Ever since the sovereign met with this being... He has brought darkness into all the realms. I know there is a way to deal with it, I just haven’t found the main source. I have an idea though." Eliza answers quietly.

"What is the idea?" I question.

"There is potentially a Lord who runs things here now, one who is linked to the darkness of this realm. If we can find him, maybe we can get the information we need to bring everything back to Ashline." She answers with an optimistic tone.

I doubt a single lord would be the sole lead to ending the darkness within this realm. There’s probably a lot more to it than that, but I’m willing to check it out.

That’s still a better starting point than just wandering around aimlessly. She’ll just have to lead us around for the time being.

I wonder how that must be... To wander around blind all the time.

"Alright. Then we should get going." I say while standing up.

Everyone else seems to be waking up as well now which is nice and convenient for me. I take a look around at each of them before beginning to speak.

"Eliza, Velia, and Aria will be the ones joining me for this trip. I want ghost to stay here with Lilly so that you both can be better prepared for what’s ahead." I speak with a serious tone, loud enough for them all to hear.

They all seem to give a nod in agreement with my decision but I know Lilly doesn’t like it in the slightest and neither does Ghost. But Lilly can educate Ghost a bit more on the demon realms and Eliza can help us out in the meantime.

"With that, I’ll begin to lead the way." Eliza chimes in. frёeωebɳovel.com

"A fun journey awaits." Aria says before joining up with us.

Velia didn’t say too much since this was kind of normal for her. Demons were demons at the end of the day and didn’t really change all that much.

Upon leaving the church I could feel a bit more of that darkness that Eliza mentioned. It was a lot more potent than I originally thought, why didn’t I notice it when we first arrived?

Regardless of its potent aura, I begin to follow Eliza as we start to walk towards our first location.

"We’ll be heading for the city of Fiere. That will be the best place to find a potential lead on the Lord we are looking for." Eliza says with a soft, yet calm tone.

"What is so special about this Lord?" Velia asks with her usual tone.

"He is a contributor to the darkness in the land." Eliza answers with a bit of sadness in her voice.

I really hope that we’ll be able to take care of each realm without having to fight a shit load of demons. I’d rather not shed all that blood if I can avoid it.

But I just have a feeling that it won’t be completely possible.
