Chapter 55: Wet Snake

My mind instantly flashed to the horrific day I saw him fresh out of the shower, a wet mass of muscle that had never been recorded in my memory before.

His damp hair falling on his forehead flawlessly, the running drips down his broad chest to his solid abs sculptured like some Greek god, and the little hair before his cock—!

What the fuck, Ana, does your brain need to be checked, too? I’m mortified right now because what the—!

Ding!

I leveled my eyes to the screen, and the air got stolen from my lungs.

UNKNOWN: Mm. You’ve gone awfully quiet, kitten. Should I assume you’re picturing me right now?

My pulse quickened, pumping in my ears so loud I thought they were gonna burst.

UNKNOWN: I can send a photo if you want.

I gulped audibly, the rest of the world fading away as those three dots popped up again.

UNKNOWN: Now the real question is... towel on or off?

"Mrs. Salvero."

"Jesus!" I yelped as my phone slipped out of my hand.

"Are you okay?" she asked, worried, clenching her iPad tightly.

"Y-Yes!" I said that far too quickly to convince her that I’m not.

She helped pick up my phone and handed it to me.

"Ahem! So um, anything?" I forced out when I heard my phone chime again.

Please God, let it not be a photo of a naked snake!

"Yes... The walls need some touches. What color would you need?"

"Blue. Powder blue."

"Right away, ma’am. However, apologies for the inconvenience; you’d have to step out for a little bit. Don’t worry, we will finish everything in no time."

"N-No problem. Give me your best shot."

She beamed. "Mr. Salvero personally recommended us. We will give our best."

I maintained my smile as I watched her leave, before I quickly unlocked my phone, and yes, that fucking snake sent me a photo.

The air got tight around my lungs. He was sitting and had the picture angled in a way his face didn’t show, starting from his sharpened jawline down to the white towel, and so help me, there was a rise there.

The towel should be off at this point because I could clearly see his toned thighs.

I clenched my cell tightly; the urge to snap it in two was far too great compared to the swirl of feelings raging inside me.

I typed, deleting and typing again, the process making me lose my fucking mind.

Am I affected?

No, I’m not, this was just a normal reaction to something like this. That’s all.

Me: Great... a wet snake on my phone. You just couldn’t resist.

UNKNOWN: You hurt my feelings, kitten.

Me: You don’t have one.

I taped on a block icon, as if that was gonna do anything, but it does bring a pleasurable feeling to my body every time.

Ding!

The satisfaction only seemed to rise when I heard that sound. I huffed in little amusement as I tapped on the message.

How does he do it? I can’t block him or what?

UNKNOWN: Pick a number.

I narrowed my eyes, perplexed for a second before heat surged inside me. A spank?

Don’t reply, Ana, because if you do—!

UNKNOWN: Pick a number. I’m not gonna ask again.

Me: Zero.

How’s that? If it’s a fucking spank, I just reduced whatever chances.

I waited for his reply, but it never came, and I began to doubt myself.

The team did an amazing job, I could barely recognize my room. It was as if my own little world was created and I almost... almost... feel I wasn’t in the manor anymore.

But there came a weird feeling I haven’t been able to shake off ever since my eyes were closed and my room was revealed in such a heartwarming way.

I felt... happy.

It was strange at first, and I began to doubt my own feelings... but yeah, I remember the feeling so... it was.

It felt like a stone pressing against my chest had just been lifted a little bit.

I stared at the pool because I dived in. The water was cool against my skin, just what I needed. I stayed under for a while, and the underwater lights cast a soft blue reflection across the water. fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com

It was pitch dark outside, so the lights practically beamed. I emerged my head to the surface, letting out a soft sigh as I slid my hair back, and when I opened my eyes, a chill shot through my body.

Zade was standing near the pool, dressed in his ash dress shirt, the buttons undone and the sleeves rolled up those corded arms. Black tailored pants and shoes that reflected the lights because of how spotless they were.

I felt a pulse wreck through me at the sight of his glasses. Almost like he had just left whatever work and came straight here.

I studied as he brought the cigar to his lips, the bottom burning bright red.

I swam towards the shore, on my feet, and his eyes dipped instantly. Silence filled the air, but it wasn’t the kind that was thickened with dread.

"Closer, kitten."

He flicked the last of his cigar away.

My heart raced at that simple command, but I didn’t move, and his eyes shot to my mine, dark with amusement but mostly warning.

"Closer."

The water rippled as I moved up the stairs, completely revealing myself, his eyes dropping back to my blue set bikini, so hot to the point it seemed as if he was gonna reduce them to ashes.

"You came out here... like this?" he questioned in a gruff voice as if I had committed an offense.

"It’s a bikini, and it’s meant for swimming."

"Is that so?"

I scowled. "You don’t get to judge what I wear."

"Yes, I do, because I’m your husband."

With a single step, the space between us grew thin, an invisible heat scorching by the mere proximity.

"Believe me, kitten. I’m always bewitched by anything you wear. You belong in a museum so I can spend hours staring at you without interruption."
