Chapter 14: Investigation of the strange chaos

Back at the 6th Cradle, the chaos from a few days ago had calmed down.

Things were normal now.

The creatures of the cradle had gone back to their daily lives, the creatures that were involved in the chaos from a few days ago were doing good as well.

The cradle had to be shut down for the day at the time of the incident to find out anything that may have happened at the scene.

There was going to be an investigation from the family as well, but the guards had not heard anything about it since the announcement so they were also back to their normal routine.

The city was at peace. And while the [Proof of Worth] was still a few days away for the younger individuals of the family, the family had started preparations for it.

So, it was obvious that the investigation would have to be handled as efficiently as possible.

Perhaps, that was the reason the family had sent someone capable to assess the situation at the scene this time.

"Stop. State your business, please."

A hooded individual was stopped at the gates of the cradle by the guards on duty. They looked at the person, feeling a strange aura from the unknown guest.

"I’m here to take a look at the scene of the incident from a few days ago." A charming, calm voice was what the guards heard.

However, the moment this hooded figure lifted her hood, the calm on the faces of each of the guards vanished, replaced by a certain kind of shock.

"GREETINGS, M’LADY!"

Short white hair with a blazing red edge as natural as any flame burning around the world.

She was a noble lady, carrying the air of authority that none could ignore.

Her deep green eyes carried within them the essence of nature, a certain floral scent present all around her that the guards had failed to recognise before.

"Greetings to you too. Can I go now?"

Her voice was almost enchanting. Anyone who looked at her would almost fall for her pure charms instantly.

Calling her merely beautiful would be an understatement. She was the embodiment of spring, the flower of Sungrade that none would dare defy.

"Of course! Please, this way!"

The second Young Lady of Sungrade and the <Carrier of The Bloom>, the elder sister of the very boy who tried to assassinate their youngest brother a few days ago in this very cradle.

"Greetings, Miss Flora. I’m Kiren, the guide that was present at the scene of the incident."

"Hello."

The guards, the people inside the facility, the guides, every single person in the cradle bowed to her at first sight, showing the highest level of respect they would to any member of the great family.

She was not merely a noble of the high society, she was a legitimate successor of the house. Also, she was a high level Tamer, someone the people here could not stand a chance against even when working together as a whole.

She was here for the inspection in person.

So they knew the matter was not as simple as one may expect.

"It happened here, m’lady."

Kiren told her everything that happened here without skipping anything except the things that happened inside the fog.

He told her about the assassins, about the young master of the house, and even the person that he still did not know the true powers of.

He told her how Sam controlled the power of the curse to save a mole, and also about the involvement of someone inside the family.

He presented his suspicions of the unknown assassins being someone from the Sungrade family from how things had transpired, but that was it.

Exactly as Prism instructed him, he spoke the things that he was supposed to tell anyone that came looking for him, and things concluded with the final statement of him begging for her forgiveness.

"I did not know what to do so I’ve hidden these things. I did not know who to tell this matter to."

He was certainly innocent. But the second lady of Sungrade could tell that much from the air that was present around him.

"You’re clearly hiding something important." She had already concluded that the person standing before her was bought by the person that was in the center of the chaos.

She could also tell that he was just an ordinary guide of the cradle and truthfully had nothing to do with the incident.

He had somehow found himself in the middle of something that was too big for someone like him to handle.

"You did good not speaking anything about this." She nodded at him with a warm smile and turned towards the place that was cleaned up so well even she couldn’t find any traces of the incident aside from the obvious destruction caused by the creatures.

The trees, the plants, and the land were all damaged a lot from that fight. It was an uncommon incident in a place where the creatures were trained and kept with some of the best professionals of the land.

"First of all..."

She did not like the scene she was seeing, so she raised her hand forward.

-Ooooooooooooooong!

A Bond Mark appeared on the back of her hand, and from it, a creature completely covered in green fur rose with its cylindrical body and round head.

It almost seemed like a mixture of a bug, a scarf, and a kitten’s long tail.

Just from the looks of it, this fluffy creature seemed like the most adorable being there was. However, anyone who knew about the creatures of this world would recognize this adorable yet extremely rare creature in an instant.

"Brush, can you fix this?"

"Miiiii~."

The creature who had even his mouth hidden in the fur covered face, smiled at his master with his large green eyes.

The small front paws of the creature then pointed at the area that was damaged after the fight between the creatures, and a green energy-wave was released from those tri-pointed paws.

-Oooooooooooooooooong!

As Kiren watched with awe and disbelief, the entire area that was charred, broken, and shattered started coming back to life.

"So this... is the power of a <Bloombug>?" An (SSR) ranked creature lost in the history books. A being that could repair the natural elements with their high regenerative powers.

This creature was the very reason the second young lady of Sungrade, a house known for their destructive power and fire elemental beasts, came to be known as a ’healer’ of nature.

She was kind, warm, and also someone people respected for not her noble nature, but for her good personality.

"Miiiiiiii~."

In just a few minutes, the area that could have taken months to come back to life, had been rejuvenated.

"Now then, do you want to come along with me to see the person that asked you to not hide ’things’ from me?"

Floralheart Von Dewn Sungrade, the Carrier of Bloom, the <Green Naturalist>, and also one of the most feared individuals within the Sungrade house. She knew who was behind all this since her dear younger brother had confessed everything he had done here to her.

She needed to see the place that got damaged due to their childish conflict, and now she was on her way to meet their youngest little brother.

One that she had protected from afar in any way she could... and also the one before whom she needed to take responsibility for the actions of her dumb younger brother.
