Chapter 2866 - The Spirit Platform Chapter

River King Fei An is dead, just like that? The Star Toad found it hard to believe this was really happening. He was increasingly aware of how terrifying the Book of Destiny was. A single word was enough to determine life and death!

No matter how strong a River King was, they were helpless against Destiny’s Chosen. Their life was entirely out of their hands!

Su Yi floated over and collected a toe bone carved with River King Fei An’s true name, Hui Yin.

Su Yi had discovered something quite interesting. The River Kings’ true names were all hidden in unassuming parts of their body, and all of them chose different hiding places.

The Star Toad, for instance, hid his true name in the depths of his pupils.

“Let’s go back and have a look outside the city before our enemies react to what happened here,” said Su Yi.

Some things couldn’t be rushed, while others couldn’t be delayed.

After this incident, Su Yi was certain that River Emperor Thousand Hands, one of the Four City Lords of the Spirit Treasure Celestial City, was colluding with River Emperor Winged Dragon.

Su Yi and the Star Toad had merely appeared outside the city’s gates, but that was enough to make them into targets.

River Empress Peacock’s opponents had long since learned all about the situation in the Five-Colored Hidden Realm. They knew that Su Yi and the Star Toad were in her camp.

When Su Yi and the Star Toad returned, they repeated the same trick, lingering outside the gates for a while before turning to leave.

Less than ten minutes later, they discovered that they were indeed being followed again. Unfortunately, this time their pursuers consisted of but a single River King and his subordinates.

The Star Toad recognized their pursuer as River King Chi Hu. He was a subordinate of another of the Four City Lords, River Emperor Bai Ye!

The discovery made his heart sink, as it proved that more than one of the Four City Lords was working with River Emperor Winged Dragon.

Things went as expected. Su Yi used Speaking Divine Writ to suppress and kill River King Chi Hu with ease while the Star Toad slew his subordinates.

Su Yi acquired yet another true name: Bei Zhen. Now, counting River King Whistling Moon, Su Yi had collected five true names in total!

“Shall we try again, Your Excellency?” asked the Star Toad. He was starting to get hooked. Following Destiny’s Chosen is great! He can kill River Kings with ease. I have absolutely nothing to worry about so long as I stick with him.

But this time, Su Yi shook his head. “If I’m not mistaken, appearing near the gates again will invite the attention of a River Emperor.”

The Star Toad’s heart shook.

“Come on, let’s find a place to lie low for a day,” said Su Yi.

The Star Toad agreed without hesitation. At first, he’d respected Su Yi purely because he controlled the Book of Destiny, but now, he admired his strategic prowess and shrewdness, too. It was to the point that if Su Yi ordered him to jump into a fire pit, he wouldn’t even hesitate!

Not long after Su Yi and the Star Toad left, the surrounding waters rumbled and boomed. The current churned, and two figures appeared, seemingly out of nowhere, both in human form. freёwebnoѵel.com

The first wore a crown and black imperial robes. He had distinctive features, and his purple eyes crackled with imposing arcs of electricity.

The second was a short, white-haired old man in yellow robes. He was fat, with a prominent mustache, and he carried a black staff. A verdant little gourd hung from its tip.

The former was River Emperor Thousand Hands, while the latter was River Emperor Bai Ye. Both were lords of the Spirit Treasure Celestial City.

Above the River of Destiny, River Emperors were comparable to top-notch Heavenly Monarchs of the Eternal Heavens Domain.

But within the water, they were fully capable of clashing with Heavenly Sovereigns!

The River Ancestors were even stronger, but they all inhabited the River of Destiny’s Forbidden Zones, which they seldom left.

That meant that the River Emperors were effectively the rulers of the River of Destiny.

It was much like the Eternal Heavens Domain. The nine Heavenly Sovereigns didn’t venture out lightly. The ones who truly wielded the greatest authority were the top Heavenly Monarchs of the Five Great Continents.

“I’ve lost Mo Lu, Xue Zhe, and Fei An, while you’ve lost Chi Hu. This opponent... isn’t simple,” murmured the River Emperor in black imperial robes. His purple eyes crackled with electricity as they scanned their surroundings. It seemed he was searching for clues.

“When Chi Hu left, I gave him a secret treasure. It should have been enough to save him from even a River Emperor,” said the short old man, River Emperor Bai Ye. “Yet now, he’s died inexplicably. It’s truly strange.”

He stretched out his hand and plucked the gourd dangling from his staff, then shook it gently.

Weng!

A green ripple swept outward, only to disintegrate and collapse in moments.

River Emperor Bai Ye’s expression shifted. The gourd was a wondrous treasure, the Gourd of Reversion. It could replay events from up to two hours prior.

Yet now, its power had been destroyed!

“You’re right. This opponent is powerful indeed!” said River Emperor Bai Ye. “I just don’t get it. Who could be so capable, and why would they stand by River Empress Peacock even now? Don’t they realize that River Emperor Winged Dragon is willing to pay any price to destroy her?”

River Emperor Thousand Hands pondered briefly, then said, “According to our scouts, the Star Toad appeared outside the Spirit Treasure Celestial City with a young man in Daoist robes. None of them recognized him, but I strongly suspect that wasn’t his true appearance.”

River Emperor Bai Ye said, “Then what do you think we should do?”

“Send word to Daoist Brother Winged Dragon. We can just return to the city and await his response,” said River Emperor Thousand Hands. “I’m sure they’re looking to save River Empress Peacock. Keep tabs on her, and I'm sure they’ll show up sooner or later.”

River Emperor Bai Ye nodded, and soon, the two of them had vanished.

......

Su Yi sat in a deep stretch of river, hidden amidst a cluster of reefs. He was gazing eagerly at the Book of Destiny.

It had just absorbed four more true names in rapid succession, and it was now emanating mysterious, inscrutable Dao Light.

As Su Yi watched, the tome slowly unfurled, revealing a whole section!

It was like gazing into an unfathomably deep ruin permeated with chaos energy. They were indistinct, but Su Yi could dimly discern the four true names hovering deep within the ruin.

Unbelievable revelations flooded his heart.

A while later, a look of undisguisable delight appeared on Su Yi’s face.

He’d just grasped a secret method for tempering the heart. It was called the Spirit Platform Chapter!

This was just the first section. It recorded a method of tempering the Heart Soul, and condensing the Light of the Heart.

But the Spirit Platform Chapter said that this was just the first of three sections!

Even factoring in his past lives, or at least, those he had access to, this was Su Yi’s first time acquiring a method of tempering the Heart Soul or a secret art involving the Light of the Heart.

More importantly, this secret art was emblazoned in the mysterious Book of Destiny!

Su Yi contemplated it briefly, then quickly found himself immersed in its endless mysteries. His Heart Soul sat cross-legged within him, the Light of the Heart shining like a candle, mysterious and ethereal.

As Su Yi contemplated, his Heart Soul formed hand seals, and its Light of the Heart intensified, manifesting endless wondrous and unbelievable manifestations.

Sometimes, it was like the sun and moon shining overhead, illuminating the emptiness. Other times, it was like the light of a firefly shining amidst the darkness, or the flickering stars of the night sky.

Still other times, it was like a candle, casting away the darkness.

In the end, the resplendent Light of the Heart condensed into sword qi and whooshed forth with imposing brilliance.

At the same time, the Book of Destiny flowed with mysterious light, which Su Yi’s Heart Soul absorbed, tempering, strengthening, and transforming itself in the process.

Su Yi’s heart shook, and that familiar cacophony of voices emanated from the book once more, echoing throughout his heart.

“That Xiao guy’s imprint is still there, so how is he opening the Book of Destiny?” a hoarse voice cried out in shock and fury.

“Finished! We’re finished!” a voice murmured bitterly.

“Perhaps... perhaps this is destiny. We might well be able to escape the fetters of the Natural Order of Destiny, but we cannot escape our fates!” someone said with dejection.

“This is impossible! There’s still hope. He’s just a Divine Wandering Realm Dao Lord, as paltry as a blade of grass. Even if he masters the complete legacies of the Book of Destiny, what can he do to us?” someone roared. “That Xiao guy couldn’t do anything to us either. What can a kid like this hope to accomplish?”

A soft, feminine voice with mysterious fluctuations of the Grand Dao chuckled. "I'm different from you. I’ve been waiting for a new Destiny’s Chosen to appear. I don’t care if he’s as weak as an ant or as mighty as a supreme ruler. I just hope he has the strength of character and breadth of spirit of his predecessor.”

“Fuck your mother! He hasn’t even mastered the Book of Destiny, yet you’ve already started kissing up to him!?”

That cacophony of voices was incredibly noisy, but this time, Su Yi heard every word clearly.

He was now completely convinced of something. I don’t know where they came from, but there really are people sealed in the Book of Destiny. Moreover, all of them know Xiao Jian, and they’re aware that I’m slowly grasping the Book of Destiny’s secrets. They even know the limits of my cultivation base!

“Everyone, that baby has already grasped some of the secret legacies needed to control the Book of Destiny, but you’re still causing such a commotion. Aren’t you worried he’ll hear you?” a low, indolent voice rang out. “He’s a sword cultivator, you know. They’re the type to repay a kindness—and to avenge a grudge. Be careful not to offend him, or he might well try to get even with you later.”

The clamor of voices instantly dimmed down. fгeewebnovёl.com

“Hah! Was that really enough to scare you?” The owner of that languid voice chuckled. “You’re too afraid of Destiny’s Chosen, but then, it makes sense. Anyone would be afraid after being trapped in the Book of Destiny for so long.”

Here, he suddenly raised his voice and shouted, “Hey, little baby! I’m talking to you! Dare you respond?”
