Chapter 783: Chapter 377: Great Spirit
"Hello, Fire Dragon that upholds the world," Li Ang said to the tall man.
"Hey, aren’t you being a bit disrespectful?" Meimei whispered.
"Haha, no need to be so formal. I see Farina as a friend, and you can be too! Just call me Agni!"
The Fire Dragon in red form was cheerful and straightforward, looking much easier to talk to than the brooding Water Dragon.
He looked around and praised, "A beautiful vessel; this is a fine ship."
"She’s the Eternal Summer," Li Ang smiled.
"I love the name because I love summer! Haha!" The Flame Dragon puffed out his chest.
It wasn’t until Li Ang got closer that he had a direct sense of how burly the avatar was.
Though he appeared human in form, he was taller than a male of the Horned Race, and his whole being resembled an upward flame.
Like Akuya, he was shrouded by some mysterious power, making his panel impossible to discern.
"What brings you here?" Li Ang asked.
"Haha, firstly, I wanted to see what kind of mortal could catch the eye of that difficult Akuya, and to my surprise, little Farina is here too!"
Among those on the Eternal Summer, Farina was the oldest and most stable, and this term of endearment felt strange, yet looking at Agni’s stature and aura, it seemed reasonable.
"This is the Captain Li Ang I mentioned to you, my partner in adventures from the early days," Farina introduced.
"Oh! I remember! I also remember that you’re close with more than one or two people! Where are they?!" the red-haired man asked with a booming voice.
The Soul Apex... Its problems hadn’t entirely passed, and having joined the Empire, it couldn’t continue, perhaps a thorn in the hearts of those who were part of it.
In the City of the Ship’s Rudder, witnessing the complete destruction of the Holy Sanctuary along with the Annihilation Star Soul, both Farina and Morales fell into memories, weighed by inner sorrow.
"They’ve scattered to various places; one bid farewell after the fight in the City of the Ship’s Rudder, and the others have not been seen recently," Farina said.
"Hmm," Agni said solemnly, "the fate of mortals is ever-changing; every time I roam the world, I feel it."
"It certainly can’t match the eternal constancy of the Dragon Gods, can it?" Meimei murmured.
"No," Agni interrupted.
"Eh?"
Facing the surprised Meimei, the man knelt slightly to speak to her: "We are the symbols of Nebis, and the entire world is not unchanging; in the long years, many things have changed because of this."
He smiled: "As it happens, since we mentioned this, let’s talk about another matter that brought me here."
Agni asked, "Do you know about the world’s fragmentation?"
"Yes."
This was already confirmed intermittently through Akuya on Mengze Island.
"Then I don’t need to explain the beginning; I hate trouble the most."
The Fire Dragon said: "After the world fractured, the oceans and lands disappeared completely. Akuya and Inanna’s powers were greatly weakened. Without the ocean, Akuya was exceedingly weak, and her soul was torn along with the world’s fragmentation, like a child becoming stubborn and self-centered due to the alienation from reality. Sensitive and fragile, she troubles others to preserve her self-esteem.
"And the sinking Bloody Red Land was twisted by a curse, Inanna constantly tormented, becoming more reliant on others, sometimes to extremes. Meanwhile, endless winds and clouds surrounded the Sky Island, significantly boosting Annette’s power, shifting her nature from gentle and timid to unpredictable."
As he spoke, he revealed some secrets about the divine rank of the Six Dragons.
"So even though we’re seen as gods, we too are changing, and the world’s transformations cannot be stopped, especially many adverse changes, even the Six Dragons can’t fully delay."
Meimei nodded slightly, her expression sombre, probably reminded of her own world, chastising herself mentally for lagging in understanding despite such an experience.
"Is it really impossible?" Zoe asked.
During the conversation, the members of the Star Flower Travel Corps realized there was activity on the deck and came out from the cabin.
"Hey!" Nearby, the giant-like Agni made Dorothy tug Zoe’s sleeve nervously.
"Not very easy,"
The Fire Dragon, without much emotion, explained seriously, "If the Creator God is the world itself, then we, as fragments of His power, each holds only a small part, yet the countless mortals across the vast world, if their powers could unite, might not be weaker than the divine spirits."
In contrast to the Water Dragon, who demands attention and throws tantrums if neglected, the Fire Dragon spoke in a thoroughly approachable manner.
"Originally, I was going to investigate the Bailong Sect."
Agni looked around: "It’s a long story, don’t just stand here in the wind, let’s sit and talk."
"Why not head into the cabin?" Li Ang suggested.
"Haha, sounds good!"
Li Ang led the way, taking the group into the shared lounge of the Eternal Summer, which also served as a reception room.
Not expecting such esteemed guests, the room was as messy as a child’s room, and Li Ang was like a host seeing the chaotic home when bringing guests over, eyes darkened. He used an air sphere to gather the clutter into a pile, clearing the space.
"I’ll go prepare some tea." ALulu sensibly headed to the kitchen.
Sitting around the large round table, Agni wasted no time with pleasantries, going straight to the point.
"The Bailong Sect is the remnant of the Ancient Dragon-Worshiping Civilization. This civilization was not entirely followers of the Dragon Ancestors but had their own ambitions. Among mortals, they are closest to the Eldest Son of God; ah, do you know the Eldest Son?"
