Chapter 780: Chapter 375: Volcano Tribe (Part 2)
However, amidst the volcanic rocks, a force that Li Ang couldn’t quite describe seemed to emanate, instantly dispersing the lava, which obediently returned to its usual state, gradually calming down.
Li Ang wrapped the scorching slow-burning fire stones with Magic Power to float them and placed them one by one inside according to system instructions, forming a crucible-like circle.
Finally, the salamander egg, with its thin layer of mucus, was placed inside by Li Ang.
They had been nurtured when he gained the Dragon Summoner profession, maintaining their life force well. Unlike the Fairy Dragon, the system indicated that salamanders could be nurtured in groups, with a cluster occupying only one breeding slot.
Wrapped in gray-white mucus, the Fire Feathered Lizard Eggs sank into the lava, the fiery red fluid instantly covering their surface tightly, as if these eggs were naturally scorching hot stones.
The Demon Eggs, now fiery red, landed right on the slow-burning fire stones in the lava. Sparks shot out from them, causing the lava to burst open, followed by pillars of fire erupting from the stones, fiercely roasting the lizard eggs.
These Demons, born from the volcano, do not undergo a cooking process upon contact with fire but rather a kind of wondrous natural spectacle unique to Nebis.
[Hint: The Salamander Eggs have begun to hatch. Time remaining: thirty minutes]
Huh?
Li Ang didn’t expect it. While the birth of a Fairy Dragon takes three days, the Salamanders only need half an hour.
Is it because their status is too low? Yet, ordinary Fairy Dragons may not necessarily have a higher tier than salamanders, otherwise, the Linden Clan wouldn’t have dominated Spark Island until it was conquered by the then-rising Empire.
In the depths of the volcano, hordes of salamanders only obey the restrictions of Fire Attribute True Dragons; at other times, they are a highly threatening group.
Since the time wasn’t long, Li Ang decided to wait and witness the hatching of the Salamanders firsthand.
The power of the slow-burning fire stones was gradually consumed, eventually fully illuminating the salamander eggs.
Li Ang felt the same deep sensation of carbon, heaviness, and latent power that he had felt when the Fairy Dragon entered the Forest System during incubation, knowing it was undoubtedly the Volcanic System due to his prior experience.
In the breath of the volcano, the three Demon Eggs, brighter than the magma cave, began hatching.
The eggshells almost instantly melted and flowed, connecting with the surrounding lava, as the small lives inside curled up, trembling and stretching out their bodies.
They resembled small salamanders, roughly the same size, only as long as Li Ang’s hand at birth, but their eyes glistened like burning sparks, indicating their extraordinary nature.
The three salamanders began to swim in the lava, with the life lava reverting to a viscous state, surging towards their bodies.
Li Ang could sense the Volcanic System infusing the power of the life lava into the bodies of the three Fire Feathered Lizards. Their tender scales looked as if they were gilded by the lava, covered with a layer of crystalline and scorching outer scales.
When the lava was fully absorbed, Li Ang noticed that some had not been plated onto the surface of their scales but rather coagulated on their forelimbs and the back of their necks, forming clusters of lava bubbles.
The salamanders shook their bodies, and the lava cracked and flowed away, from which crimson feathers emerged.
These feathers did not look out of place, as if they naturally belonged to these Demons. If they were denser, their forelimbs could even be regarded as flying wings, transforming them from ordinary sub-dragons to dragon beasts approaching True Dragons.
The three salamanders saw Li Ang and conveyed a sense of life-linked intimacy, regarding him as both a blood relative and their master.
Though still young, they had grown quite well, resembling the more powerful salamanders Li Ang had encountered before.
Theoretically, this species of Demons could reach Tier 7 by absorbing enough essence, stepping into the Excellence Realm.
He reached out to pick them up, only to find that the growth of the Fire Feathered Lizards was not yet complete.
Their feathers rapidly elongated just as he had imagined, forming actual wings, and their beaks were lengthening, their heads now resembling dragon heads more than lizard ones.
"This, it actually turned out like this..."
Li Ang couldn’t help but mutter to himself, marveling at the strength imbued by the system’s volcanic powers.
[Great Salamander]
[Born in the Monster Breeding Ground on the Eternal Summer, these salamanders possess more dragon beast traits due to the power of the volcano, surpassing the usual limits, destined to be true Kings of the Fire Feathered Lizards, possibly even further]
[Species: Sub-dragon]
[Combat Wisdom: 4]
[Energy Source: Heart of the Flame Lizard, Master-Slave Link]
[Physical Strength: Crystalized Flame Scale, Tier 4. Molten Lava Tail, Tier 4. Explosive Fire Pouch, Tier 4. Soaring Feather, Tier 4]
[Special Attack: Clustered Flame Barrage, Fire Entwined Charge]
[Skills: Flame Breath, Short Flight, Dragon Blood Protection, Volcanic Protection, Destruction and Rebirth]
[Combat Power Amplification: 94%]
The special Fire Feathered Lizards, initially born, already capable of short flight, took off, leaping into Li Ang’s embrace before he could process it.
Sruder observed these three lizards without any conflicting thoughts, as if they too were born in the breeding ground, able to transcend tribal boundaries and recognize each other.
The three little lizards were so hot that holding them felt like having a hand warmer in winter.
He discovered that all Monsters in the breeding ground had the ability to resurrect in the breeding ground after death, though not permanently; they could only be reborn once within a certain period before needing a long recharge.
The little ones transforming into dragons before him both possessed the strength of the salamander and were destined to surpass them.
Li Ang set them down on the ground in the volcanic zone, where explosive fire beetles with internal explosives soon emerged from the cracks — the juvenile salamanders’ favorite food, which they immediately chased after.
The lava tribe, robust and flourishing.
The three lizards grew by leaps and bounds in no time, appearing to form combat power faster than Sruder.
Allowing them to grow well in the breeding ground, Li Ang felt satisfied as he left, planning to introduce these little creatures to the guild members tomorrow.
As it was getting late and time for rest, he boarded the deck, confirmed all members’ return, and went back to the captain’s room.
As soon as he sat down, his foot bumped into Dorothy.
"Sigh, you really are..."
Having decided to assign her as the temporary deputy leader to handle team and guild affairs as an example for the three who knew nothing, Li Ang hesitated but eventually handed her the key, not expecting her to use it for mischief so quickly.
Just as he was about to scold her, he noticed the young girl’s eyes were red, her beautiful face appeared as though she’d been crying after a breakdown, her emotions visibly disturbed.
"What happened?" he asked, his heart tightening.
Dorothy bit her lip, staring at him blankly.
"You..."
"What’s wrong with you?"
Li Ang lifted her chin, and the Golden Canary finally began to quietly sob.
"Li Ang, don’t abandon me, don’t abandon me..."
She appeared emotionally shattered, a sight not seen since Spark Island, stirring sympathy in Li Ang’s heart. Just as he was about to inquire further, the young girl began muttering self-deprecating remarks.
"Even if, even if you consider me the lowest among them, as long as you don’t throw me away, as long as you’re happy, you can trample on me at any time, at will."
She lay back onto the floor, pulling Li Ang’s foot to her chest.
Li Ang’s mind went blank, pain in his elbow sending a jolt of heat through his body, awakening a dominant and violent urge. Her earnestness, however, drew the thoughts summoned by the Demon Curse near.
The Half Elven girl’s eyes immediately turned hazy, reaching out for Li Ang.
It was in her heart-wrenching singing and crying that Li Ang came to his senses. He took a deep breath, squatted down, facing the suddenly pampered, self-indulgent Golden Canary, momentarily unable to reproach her.
"Treat me as a tool, an object, anything, so..."
Dorothy continued murmuring softly.
His thoughts suddenly flared up in anger.
"I won’t."
He took a deep breath: "What is this sudden, inexplicable self-deprecation about? I never said I disliked you or didn’t want you."
"Eek!"
With a cry of surprise, he picked Dorothy up by the waist and carried her into the bathroom.
"So, what happened?"
After the warm water soothed her trembling sadness, Li Ang gently asked.
"I saw my brothers."
