Chapter 47: 47-His Spoiled Girlfriend
Verity:
I watched Gigi get very cozy with Ragnar, but I also noticed her eyes lingering on me.
There was a brief moment when I looked up and saw that she had turned toward me, so I quickly looked away.
The way she was talking to him was bizarre, almost as if she were putting on a show.
I continued typing, wondering if Gigi suspected I was onto something.
Her sudden arrival and her unexpected interaction with me were overwhelming.
Then she told Ragnar that she wanted to go on a trip with him and the brothers, which struck me as odd.
Why would she want to take the brothers with her? What was going on?
After Gigi finished talking to him, she lingered around the room, moving from one corner to another, circling Ragnar, then standing by the window and staring outside.
Finally, she grabbed her purse to leave.
"Bye, babe. I’ll plan everything and let you know," she told Ragnar, slipping the strap of her bag over her arm and striding toward the door.
Since my workstation was right next to the door, she had to pass me.
As she did, she placed her fingers on the table and dragged them along the surface.
Then she stopped and bent down to look at my screen.
"No, I don’t think you’re doing it right. The format is wrong," she said suddenly.
I watched her place her two nasty fingers on the keyboard and delete everything.
I almost gasped, almost because I knew it would still be there in the backup.
"Babe, you need to hire someone to train her," she commented.
My fingers curled into fists, but she was standing right beside me, and I was afraid she would notice.
Ragnar, who had been focused on his work, finally looked up at me.
"What did you do this time?" he asked in a dismissive tone.
What did he mean, what did I do this time? I was doing my job just fine.
But I stayed silent.
"I don’t know," I muttered, trying to sound confused by her complaints.
"I think she needs a little more training," Gigi added, smiling as she gently patted my shoulder, leaving me to deal with the situation she had created.
Ragnar’s eyes narrowed at me.
As Gigi walked out and slammed the door shut, I decided to retrieve the data she had deleted.
However, I watched Ragnar rise from his seat and straighten his coat.
Then he started walking toward me with purpose, and I had to brace myself.
He walked over to me, leaving only one button of his coat fastened before flicking it open with his thumb and index finger.
Then he placed one hand on the back of my chair and leaned over my shoulder.
His strong scent hit me hard, but I kept my composure. Only I knew how I managed it.
He started going through my work on the screen. Then he pressed the undo button to see what had been deleted.
I had already pulled my hands back, but I remained seated while he hovered over my shoulder, making me feel incredibly awkward.
"Hmm."
That was the only sound he made before straightening up.
"Continue working," he said roughly, almost as if he didn’t want to admit he liked what he saw.
He knew very well that I was doing a good job. Of course, he wasn’t about to call out his bitch for deliberately trying to sabotage me by criticizing random things that didn’t even need to be addressed.
After he walked away, I decided to focus on my work for a while. But Gigi’s words lingered in the back of my mind.
Around lunchtime, the door opened, and both Theodore and Jaguar walked in.
Ragnar was on a call with a client. He gestured for them to make themselves comfortable, indicating that he would speak with them later.
At the same time, I noticed Jaguar and Theodore pause for a second before turning their heads toward me for a good look.
I pretended not to notice them. Instead, I acted as though I was completely absorbed in my work.
When Ragnar finished his call, Jaguar adjusted his coat.
"Gigi said you’re planning a trip for us."
Jaguar was the first to speak, and I immediately remembered what Gigi had told me about his affair with her friend.
"Yeah, I also think it’s a good time for us to go on a vacation," Ragnar agreed and Theodore nodded.
When I looked up, I noticed he was pretending to look around, but he was really checking me out.
I gave him a smile, though it wasn’t seductive. It was simply an acknowledgment of his arrival.
He immediately turned in my direction, smiling widely.
"Theodore."
The way Ragnar called his name, Theodore almost jumped, as if he’d been caught doing something he shouldn’t.
"Yes, brother?" he replied, turning to Ragnar and looking slightly on edge.
"You’ll have to help Gigi with the arrangements, okay? I don’t want her doing everything on her own," Ragnar said.
Theodore nodded again. freewebnσvel.cøm
"So remember, after work today, you need to meet up with her," Ragnar reminded him.
Once again, Theodore nodded.
"And Jaguar, we’ll finish the remaining work in the meantime," Ragnar told him, assigning responsibilities.
"Okay, brother. Then this trip will be memorable," Theodore said, slipping his hands into his pants pockets, causing his coat to lift slightly.
With all three of them in the office, even though the cabin was large enough, their scents blended together so strongly that, for a moment, I felt rooted to my seat.
I knew it was probably because I hated all three of them equally, or maybe one more than the others. Still, the feeling was strange.
However, I already knew what I was going to do next.
My target was Theodore.
Gigi really thought she could come here and assert her dominance over me.
Well, let’s see how she feels when even Theodore forgets about her.
I smiled at the screen because I already had a plan.
By the time everyone was getting ready to leave, it had started to rain.
"These are the files for tomorrow’s meetings. Also, we have a clear schedule for the rest of the day," I told Ragnar as I approached his desk and bent down to point at the empty schedule list.
At the same time, I positioned myself right beside Jaguar, who was sitting across from Ragnar, discussing meetings and other arrangements before the trip.
I could tell he got a good view from behind. My tight white suit hugged every curve, and I knew exactly what he was looking at.
"Okay, you can go home then," Ragnar remarked.
I straightened and turned around, deliberately ignoring Jaguar.
I even noticed him shift in his chair because, when I walked past him, I didn’t glance at him once.
Soon, I was out of the office and on my way to take over Theodore’s thoughts for the rest of the day.
