Chapter 19: School

"I want her fired!" frёeweɓηovel.coɱ

"She will be. She’s already fired; you don’t have to be concerned about her," Gavin assured me. Where did they find such an unprofessional person? I’m still so upset. I’m in the dining room right now, and there’s food in front of me, but I have no appetite.

"I don’t want another nanny," I announced again, but they all fell silent.

They won’t listen, will they? They will always do what they please. I’ll also do what I please today; I’m visiting Cole. I’m meeting Cole after school today. I’m bringing lunch and everything. I don’t know if he’ll be able to forgive me, but I’ll do my best to make him understand.

The brothers left the dining room one after the other without making their usual announcement. I also left after a while.

After dressing up, I walked to the garage to find Willa.

"I’ll be your driver for today, and I’ll also attend to your needs," Willa announced as she held the door for me.

"You don’t have to; I have my hands too." I got into the car and sat in the back seat.

A text came into my phone, and I opened it. It’s from Ruby.

Oh, Ruby.

"Hey!" The message read. "About Cole, I am sorry; I had no choice. The brothers threatened me."

"Yeah, I know; you don’t have to explain it to me."

"Is Cole alright?"

"He is not; he’s at the station. You know which one, right?"

"Shit, I knew this would happen. I will pay him a visit right now."

"What about school?"

"I’m skipping classes today."

"I can’t skip class, unfortunately, but I will go see him afterward."

"How? The brothers won’t allow that. You don’t need to stress yourself; I’ll visit him on your behalf and apologize to him. I ratted him out; I shouldn’t have done that."

"No, it was not your fault. I’ll visit Cole today."

"What about his siblings?"

"They’re with my parents; they’re safe."

"Oh great. I’ll also inform him."

"Thank you, Ruby."

"What are best friends for?" She sent a smiley emoji.

I grinned and set my phone aside. I’m glad she’s still here. Friends are excellent company; I’ll try making new friends again.

There are wealthy, affluent students in my school. I’ve never paid them attention; maybe I can befriend one of them.

After parking in my private parking spot, we got out of the car, and Willa followed me.

"Will you attend classes with me?" I don’t understand; why is she going in with me?

"Yes, that is what I’m here for," she responded.

"You will attend classes with me?"

"I’ll just be at the door to ensure your safety."

Like Willa said, she followed me to my first class and stood at the door. Students kept staring at her as they walked by, but she remained immobile.

Oh gosh...! I hate this situation.

I wish she could just go away. Go to the car or something. Why must she embarrass me?

"Is that your guard? The brothers finally got you one, and I don’t see your best friend today," Remi, a rich girl who has tried to befriend me so many times, sat beside me and said.

"Yeah," I mumbled, not looking at her.

Everyone in the school knows who I am; they know the school was established for me, and they know my relationship with the brothers. The brothers have picked me up from school several times too. Everyone knows. It’s not a secret. Many people have attempted to befriend me due to my relationship with the brothers, but I refused to give in to them.

I want genuine friends, not people who want to use me to get closer to my mates. I feel Remi is one of them, and that’s why I haven’t paid her attention. Even Ruby dislikes and speaks ill of her. Ruby claimed to have seen Remi with some of the professors. I don’t know if this is true, but her father is an Alpha, and he is quite influential. Why would someone like her throw herself at professors? Is it to boost her scores?

She can simply pay for it, not sleep with them. Well, it’s really not my business.

"Oh, she looks mean. Since Ruby is not in school today, maybe I can hang out with you? What do you think?"

"Whatever you wish," I grumbled. I know she won’t back away even if I ask her.

The accounting professor walked into the class, and everywhere turned silent. After the class, I moved to the next class, which was a bookkeeping class. Lunch came, and I moved to the school’s cafeteria.

I sat at my private spot, and Remi sat with me.

"Can I sit?" She smiled as she opened her drink. She’s already sitting; why is she asking?

"I bet the others are jealous of me; I’m sitting with the Notorious Four’s mate," she giggled.

What is she saying? Why would others be... Looking up, I found different pairs of eyes on us; the minute they saw me looking, they instantly looked away.

"I told you," she laughed. "Don’t you know that you’re the star girl? You’re the most popular person in our school. You rule the world here." She opened her dish and began to eat.

Am I?

"Tessa approached me earlier, the girl over there," she pointed to a brown-haired girl. "She asked me what I discussed with you; she’s a rude bitch and a whore. Don’t speak to her when she approaches you; she’s dying to sleep with one of the Notorious Four, that’s all."

"And you aren’t?" I moved my gaze to her, and she stopped eating.

"Of... Of course not," she laughed, "of course not. I don’t want to be with the Notorious Four; I just want to be your friend."

"Hm," I returned my gaze to my food and continued eating. She’s a liar.

"You don’t know most things that happen in school, but I do. I know everyone’s secrets, and that is why most hate me."

"Hmm."

"For a start, Tessa’s father is cheating on Mary’s mother. Tessa and Mary hate each other, but their parents seem to enjoy each other’s company. Their parents met at the school board meeting and have been hitting it hard since then."

What the fuck!

"Tessa is afraid to reveal this secret to her mother because she’s afraid it’ll break the home, but that’s really stupid. How can she not tell her mother that her father is cheating? Isn’t that stupid?"

"When I caught my father cheating on my mother with my home lesson teacher, I acted very smart. I was fourteen back then, but I knew what to do. I took a picture of them naked, and I threatened my father with it. I still have the picture to this day; that’s how I get my father to do everything for me."

What the actual fuck! She’s a crazy bitch. Ruby was right. She’s so sick.
