Chapter 2633: Chapter 2633: I Just Want to Stay with Mommy
Junqi, who liked playing with him, seemed to sense his sorrow and was very well-behaved these past few days, never bothering him.
Xiaokui was even quieter, almost as if she didn’t exist.
Ansel was very worried about his father and would ask Awei about him every day.
He walked to the back garden and saw Awei on the phone.
Ansel stood quietly behind him, waiting for Awei to finish his call. When he turned around and saw Ansel, he was almost startled.
"Young master, do you need anything from me?"
"Uncle Awei... has my dad not been found yet?" Ansel asked softly, lips pressed together.
Awei shook his head gloomily, "Not yet, but there’s hope in not finding him yet."
"Uncle Awei, I want to go to London."
"What do you want to do in London?"
"I’m worried about my mom, I want to be by her side."
Awei came over and patted his shoulder, "Don’t worry, your mom is okay."
"Uncle Awei, tell me... if my dad died... what would my mom do?"
Awei froze—
"The boss won’t die."
Ansel lowered his eyes, his voice trembling slightly, "Uncle Awei, if... my dad died, my mom would die too."
Awei opened his mouth but didn’t know what to say.
"I can’t have lost my dad and then lose my mom too... I want to go find my mom, I need to stay with her."
Hearing a child say such words, Awei felt a deep bitterness inside.
"Your dad hasn’t been found yet, don’t overthink."
Ansel nodded, "I know, I’m just afraid of what if. Besides, I can’t wait here; if dad is really gone... mom will certainly leave us."
Saying this, Ansel’s eyes brimmed with tears.
He suddenly turned around, wiped away his tears, and with a calm face, turned back.
"Uncle Awei, can you take me to London?"
"No way!" Awei refused without hesitation, "London is very dangerous now, I can’t take you there."
"I just want to stay with my mom..." Ansel blinked, looking somewhat pitiful.
Awei also didn’t know what to say to comfort him.
"Young master, I understand your feelings, but I really can’t take you there. If you really miss your mom, just give her a call."
Ansel nodded dimly, "I got it."
"Uncle Awei, then I’ll go back now."
"Young master, try to stay positive. Your dad is the best; he certainly will be okay."
"Hmm..."
Ansel turned around, feeling morose, and walked away.
After a few steps, he noticed Xiaokui standing behind a tree.
"Xiaokui, why are you here?" Ansel asked her gently.
"Don’t be sad..." Xiaokui didn’t know how to comfort him, only squeezing out this sentence.
Ansel managed a smile, "I’m okay. Let’s go, we’ll go back."
He took her hand and left.
Xiaokui looked at his side face, wanting to say something, but hesitated several times.
But if she didn’t speak, she thought of herself as a bad child.
Her brother was so good to her, just like her grandfather, making her very fond of him.
She should tell him.
"Brother..."
Ansel turned his head, "What’s the matter?"
Xiaokui blinked her bright eyes, her voice still carrying a childish tone, "Your dad isn’t dead."
Ansel froze for a moment.
He thought she was comforting him, "Hmm, thank you Xiaokui, I also wish dad is still alive."
