Chapter 2494: Chapter 1097: Recruiting Troops and Horses (Part 3)
"I will grant you the title of Skeleton Plunderer, and you shall patrol the entire plane for me, seizing and slaughtering the essence here, making it work for me."
Just like before, Gaven directly pointed the War Ravager towards the Skeleton Dragon King, infusing it with a large amount of Divine Nature Force to aid in its transformation.
The state of the Skeleton Dragon King was identical to that of the Skeleton Slayer.
The body entered the Godhood State, reshaped with Divine Nature Force.
Its duties diverged from the Skeleton Slayer.
The Skeleton Slayer would become the Gatekeeper, pinned at the Gathering Gate, rarely mobilized.
The Skeleton Plunderer, on the other hand, would become the Patrol Hunter, launching hunts across the entire plane, targeting those Abyssal Jackalweres.
They had only taken over Yenogu’s Siege, not yet fully annexed; to completely erase the influence and mark of the Jackalweres here and claim the entire Yenogu’s Realm, there was still a long way to go, starting with eliminating these Abyssal Jackalweres.
This is not an easy task.
Killing those Abyssal Jackalweres is not hard; the difficulty lies in finding them across the vast grasslands, as they will surely hide themselves deep.
This situation arises from the small swallowing the large.
The Divine Nature Force controlled by Gaven is far inferior to that of the King of the Jackalweres, unable to accomplish the divine power transformation of the entire Yenogu’s Realm.
"I will surely expand the Divine Position bestowed upon me by my master." The Skeleton Plunderer responded in a high-pitched tone.
"Begin your hunt!" Gaven said, waving his hand.
He directly excluded them from this raid mission; times have changed, and he now had his own domain and could no longer go all out like before.
Someone must be left to guard the house; the Skeleton Slayer guards the Gathering Gate, while the Skeleton Plunderer intimidates the surroundings.
"Before executing the mission, please allow me to recruit a batch of subordinates to assist in the task," the Skeleton Plunderer couldn’t help but glance towards the Gathering Gate, revealing undisguised envy and longing.
"The Skeleton Slayer is merely the guard of the Gathering Gate, not its owner; anyone can recruit their desired subordinates from here. But as per the old rule, internal conflict is strictly prohibited, and severe punishment will follow if it occurs." Gaven emphasized internal discipline.
Through intentional mediation, the relationship between the two was greatly improved, coordinating well together.
But in the face of interests, there is no guarantee that conflicts won’t arise.
"Rest assured, Master, my requirements differ from those of the Skeleton Slayer, and no conflicts will arise," the Skeleton Plunderer pledged with certainty.
"Go now!" Gaven did not object; he judged these demons only by their actions.
Hou!
The Skeleton Plunderer unfolded its skeletal wings, a massive surge of divine power erupted, like fiercely burning pale flames, with similar eruptions from its skeletal claws.
The enormous thrust propelled it into the sky, with a flap of its wings, it soared swiftly, its speed not slower than a Shadow Flyer in energy surge mode.
This is the primary difference between Sage Undead and the inanimate Shadow Flyer.
The former’s abilities continuously evolve with professional level advancements and acquisition of new capabilities.
The latter’s abilities remain stable since manufacture; even if it develops, it only slightly enhances its original capabilities, rarely experiencing qualitative changes.
Unless its creators undertake technological updates and iterations, producing new models, its state changes.
The Skeleton Plunderer didn’t lie; its targets locked onto at the Gathering Gate did not conflict with those of the Skeleton Slayer.
It didn’t bother with those Advanced Demons but focused its gaze on the demons hovering in the sky like vultures.
The Skeleton Plunderer targeted the Flying Demons mainly due to its flight capability and core Divine Position.
Compared to ground plunder, the air offers visual and speed advantages.
When Gaven granted the Divine Positions of Slaughter and Plunder, it wasn’t done arbitrarily but with ample consideration of their abilities and traits, thus achieving a harmonious flow of events.
Had it been the other way around, it would undoubtedly feel like swimming against the current.
This group of Flying Demons was called Frollo Demons, their appearance a grotesque mix of vulture and humanoid features, with distorted forms; they had vulture heads and beaks, but beast-like interlocking sharp teeth.
Beast-like bodies but with distinct limbs like humanoids, replaced ultimately by sharp talons.
Their wings weren’t the typical demonic skin wings, but the feathers of vultures, a dark green emitting a pervasive stench.
Their habits closely resembled vultures, flapping their foul wings in the sky, intermittently swooping down in squads, often accompanied by deafening screeches.
At such times, a victim often appears on the ground, uncontrollably trembling, watching helplessly as the Frollo Demons dive, wielding vulture talons, launching frenzied clawing and pecking.
Their eating methods are distinctly avian; the beak’s sharp teeth assist with tearing, lacking chewing functionality, they toss chunks of meat down far larger than their necks.
As they flap their wings, innumerable dark green powders diffuse, shrouding their figures, undoubtedly laden with poison.
Their hunting success rate is high, not only because of their myriad special abilities but also as they target the heavily injured or deceased.
With carnivorous traits, they show no interest in the Slaughter Undead but rather in the slaughtered targets.
In some sense, they’re unsolicited reinforcements for the Slaughter Undead, expert finishers.
Since they cause no harm to the Slaughter Undead, the latter’s focus is on the Abyssal Jackalweres and Ground Demons, taking no action against them.
This results in the ever-growing numbers of these Flying Demons, amassing like dark clouds, circling around the Gathering Gate.
Their vulture traits destine them to pursue wars; the more intense and brutal, the more they revel, reluctant to depart.
