Chapter 79: Chapter 79 Kiss Me Senseless
Christina’s POV
Hudson’s mouth crashed into mine without warning or hesitation.
Hot, forceful, and completely unrelenting; he kissed like he owned my lips, my breath, my entire being. His alpha nature took complete control.
I gasped, attempting to pull back, but he was already there, already taking what he wanted. His tongue pushed past my lips like it belonged there, and honestly? My body wasn’t exactly protesting.
My hands shot up instinctively, palms flat against his chest—but instead of pushing him away, my fingers curled into his shirt like it was my only anchor to reality.
"Hudson, wait, just—" I tried to speak, but all that came out was a breathless jumble against his mouth, interrupted by the sheer force of his kiss.
He didn’t wait.
With a smooth, dizzying motion, he wrapped one arm around my waist and pulled me onto his lap. The seat creaked beneath us, the car shifting slightly with our movement.
Darkness surrounded us, with only faint neon lights from Highrise City filtering through the tinted windows, highlighting his sharp features in shadows.
I felt his thigh under mine—hard, tense—then stopped feeling anything else as he kissed me again, deeper this time, like he was claiming ownership.
My legs straddled his lap awkwardly, knees pressing into the leather seat on either side of him.
I might have been on top, technically speaking.
But that meant absolutely nothing.
He was completely in control.
Every movement of his tongue, every demanding pull of his lips made it crystal clear: I wasn’t running this show.
The air in the backseat grew thin and hot. My lungs burned, my skin prickled like someone had cranked up the temperature by a dozen degrees.
The windows fogged up.
My head spun.
Every nerve ending concentrated where we touched—his hands spanning my waist, fingers flexing like he was restraining himself from tearing my clothes off; his chest against mine, solid as a wall.
And still he didn’t stop.
I kissed him back because resistance was impossible.
Because my body had already surrendered.
My lips moved with his, eager and pliant, like they belonged to someone else entirely.
I felt weightless and intoxicated, high on his touch.
Time lost all meaning.
I forgot how seconds and minutes worked.
I forgot the world outside the car even existed.
There was only him, only this, only the sound of our mouths meeting and the hungry growl he made when I shifted in his lap.
When he finally allowed me to breathe, my legs felt like jelly, my lips were swollen, and my entire body seemed boneless.
I collapsed against his chest, panting, one hand still gripping his shirt like I couldn’t bear to let go.
Hudson exhaled slowly, controlled, but I felt the tension in his thighs, the unmistakable evidence of his arousal beneath me that made my skin flush all over again.
The driver coughed discreetly. "Alpha Hudson, we’ve arrived."
I jumped off Hudson’s lap like I’d touched a live wire.
He gave a low grunt, adjusted his suit jacket to conceal the obvious evidence of what had just happened—or almost happened—and stepped out of the car.
Then he reached back in and simply picked me up. freewebnoveℓ.com
I flailed, limbs everywhere. "Put me down! I can walk!"
"Can you?" His voice was rough with amusement.
I tried. I failed spectacularly.
The moment my heels touched the ground, my knees buckled.I wobbled sideways like a newborn fawn, nearly twisting my ankle into an emergency room visit.
Hudson’s arm shot out, catching me before I could completely embarrass myself.
Still dizzy from that kiss (or was it kisses? That series of breath-stealing, life-altering assaults on my self-control), I seriously considered letting him carry me inside.
But we weren’t alone.
The driver was still there.
He was undoubtedly discreet—he worked for Hudson, after all—but I could practically see the mental popcorn in his hand and the gossip forming in his mind.
I patted Hudson’s arm to signal I was fine and that he should release me.
The moment he did, I bolted into the house.
Behind me, I heard a low, amused chuckle.
I scrambled up the stairs, half-limping, half-running.
I raced to my room and flung myself face-first onto the bed, pulling the blanket over my head like a child hiding from monsters. Except the monster was my own desire, and hiding was futile.
My lips still tingled, swollen and sensitive, haunted by the memory of his mouth—demanding, consuming, like he was trying to devour my very essence.
And God help me, I’d let him.
I’d melted into him like ice cream on hot pavement.
Ysolde’s words echoed in my head, "Gorgeous alpha. No emotional strings. Enjoy the ride and finally get the satisfaction your love life desperately needs."
Maybe she had a point.
Maybe I’d been clinging too hard to an outdated relationship model—emotions first, physical connection later.
With Niall, it had been all empty promises and grand gestures, like I was in love with the fated mate bond of him rather than the actual man.
But this was different.
No strings, no expectations.
Just heat. Hunger. A one-year contract and an alpha who kissed like he wanted to permanently imprint himself on my soul.
Maybe it was time to reconsider this fake marriage arrangement.
Call it what it really was—a year-long affair with benefits.
I propped myself up and stared at the door.
I wasn’t sure what I was thinking.
Wasn’t sure what I was hoping for.
The bedroom door remained unlocked.
Maybe he would...
My gaze lingered on the handle, half-daring it to turn.
Half-terrified it actually might.
Akira, who had been suspiciously quiet during the whole car episode, finally stirred. "You know you want him to come in," she teased.
"Shut up," I mumbled into the pillow. "You’re supposed to be the rational one."
"I’m your wolf, not your conscience," she replied. "And both of us know exactly what we want right now."
I grabbed another pillow and covered my head, as if that could somehow muffle my own wolf’s voice inside my mind.
The worst part was, she wasn’t wrong.
