Chapter 55: Chapter 55 Humiliation
Third Person POV
Niall was chained to a chair in the Council.
His hands were cuffed with silver restraints. His ankles were shackled. His expensive shirt was wrinkled and bloody, and he reeked of fear.
The Council Enforcer stood there reading off the charges.
"Trespassing on another Alpha’s territory. Breaking and entering. Assault. Disturbing the peace. Attempted kidnapping of a female."
"You’ve got it all wrong!" Niall was going crazy, fighting against the silver that kept him from shifting. "That’s my mate! We just had a little fight, that’s all!"
One of the Council Elders didn’t even look up. "You stole an access card and broke into her apartment. You tried to drag her away against her will. That’s not a fight, Alpha Niall."
"According to our records, she initiated a rejection and cancelled the engagement. She’s not your mate anymore. The bond is broken. You’re nothing to each other now."
Niall opened his mouth, closed it, then blinked hard.
True. But damn, that was harsh.
"Look at me!" he whined."I’m the one bleeding! See these bruises? I’m the real victim here. Why don’t you arrest Alpha Hudson too? He’s the one who beat the crap out of me!"
The female Elder raised an eyebrow. "Given the circumstances, Alpha Hudson was protecting his mate. They’re registered as married with the Council."
Niall groaned.
His soul felt like the Moon Goddess had personally kicked him in the balls.
He slumped in the chair, silver chains rattling.
"Can I at least post bail? I need medical help. If I stay here much longer with these silver cuffs, my wolf might get permanent damage." It was bullshit, but worth a shot.
"You’ll live, Alpha Niall. Your wolf is tougher than you think." The head Elder gave him a flat look and stood up. "The Council will decide. Wait here."
The Elders walked out. They didn’t want to offend Alpha Hudson, whose power was immense and who was running for Alpha King.
Apparently, the most powerful Alpha in the werewolf world wanted to make an example of Niall.
VIP treatment. Maximum punishment.
He wasn’t getting out anytime soon.

Across Highrise City, Alpha Clive found out what happened and was furious.
"Get him out," he barked at his Beta, sending the order through their mind-link.
The Beta tried.
All day.
No luck.
Clive knew another Alpha was pulling strings behind the scenes. He could tell Hudson’s influence all over this.
He sighed, grabbed his coat, and decided to grovel to the Council of Elders in person.
Three days.
That’s how long it took to call in favors, kiss ass, and beg from one end of werewolf territory to the other.
But finally, he got Niall out.
Niall had barely gotten into the car when Clive slapped him so hard his wolf whimpered.
"Useless piece of shit."
Niall, already looking like he’d been hit by a truck, grabbed his face and whined, "Dad, seriously, it wasn’t my fault. Hudson set me up..."
"Shut up!" Clive’s eyes flashed with Alpha power.
"Drive to the pack doctor," he told the driver, then turned back to Niall with a snarl. "What the hell were you thinking? You picked a fight with Alpha Hudson of the Sabreridge Pack?" frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
Niall waved his hands weakly. "I didn’t! He beat me up for no reason!"
"You think I don’t know what you were doing at the apartment?" Clive shot him a look that could melt steel. "I told you how to handle this with the Council. Put the blame on Christina. You can’t even do that right! What do I have to do, give you a step by step guide?"
His voice got serious. "Leave Christina alone for now. I’m putting you in the pack healing center. Stay there and get better. And for God’s sake, don’t cause another mess. The Frostpelt Pack can’t afford it."
"Yeah, yeah... got it..." Niall’s wolf was scared and hiding inside him.
Clive hired a full-time pack doctor to watch Niall and used his Alpha power to ban Louisa and Willow from visiting.
Niall lay in the healing room, staring at the ceiling, feeling his bones slowly healing under the treatments.
Beatrice had been mind-linking him nonstop, getting more and more frantic as she tried to reach him.
He’d replied with a quick "I’m fine," then cut off the connection before she could ask him again if he wanted the beach house in France or the fancy château.
Like he was going anywhere anytime soon.
It hurt just to sit up, to move, even to spit without tasting blood.
The more he thought about it, the angrier his wolf got.
He hadn’t even managed to hit Hudson once, and now his whole body felt like he’d been attacked by an entire pack.
Meanwhile, Chrissy got to walk around town looking smug, probably shopping for wedding dresses with Hudson following her around.
She was the reason Niall was bleeding, but somehow she ended up with a stronger mate bond and Alpha protection.
Anger burned under his skin.
Screw what his father said.
He wasn’t giving up without a fight.
Niall grabbed his phone and opened the group chat with his closest pack friends.
Niall: [Christina ran off with another Alpha. Mating ceremony’s off. I’m done with her.]
Message sent.
Boom. It was like setting off a silver bomb in a crowded house.
The pack mind-link would have been faster, but he wanted this in writing. Permanent. Public.
The group chat lit up.
Montgomery Hayes was the first to bite.
Monty Hayes: [Wait, what the hell? Chrissy rejected you? Who’s the Alpha?]
More came flooding in:
[She used to follow you around like a love-sick pup. What’d you do to piss her off this time?]
[Didn’t we bet she’d come crawling back in, like, three days? And now she’s accepted another Alpha?]
[Is this a joke? @Niall, did your wolf get knocked out during the full moon run?]
Niall stabbed his thumbs at the screen, wincing as his bruised hands protested.
[Niall: I’M NOT joking. Christina screwed me over. She’s been sneaking around with another Alpha. The mating bond’s broken. So’s the ceremony. You can burn the invitations.]
There was no way he was dropping Hudson’s name.
Hell no. That was suicide.
So he kept it vague, letting his brothers fill in the blanks with their own assumptions.
The bait worked like fresh meat in a hungry den.
[Damn. So much for her good Luna act. Chrissy’s got some slut in her after all.]
[Always thought she looked too innocent. Those are the sneakiest she-wolves.]
[Fact: females always run to the strongest Alpha.]
[Sorry, brother. You’ll find a worthier Luna.]
[Yeah, like Beatrice. She’s back from the European, isn’t she?]
[Forget Chrissy, brother, let’s hit the new strip club.]
Niall watched the accusations stack up.
Every insult, every dig, every emoji-flavored roast—it was healing his wounded Alpha pride if not his actual wounds.
He recorded a voice message, deliberately raspy, half-sniffle, half-pitiful whine.
Niall: [She betrayed me, guys... properly wrecked me. I gave her everything, and she just... yeah. Guess my wolf wasn’t Alpha enough for her. I’m not in the mood to hang out. Just leave me alone for a while, okay?]
And Send.
