Chapter 53: Chapter 53 If You Kill Him, I’m a Witness
Christina’s POV
I stood frozen, watching Hudson beat the hell out of Niall.
It was brutal but controlled.
Every punch landed exactly where Hudson wanted it to.
One punch. Blood flew from Niall’s mouth.
Another. His head snapped back hard.
Another. He stumbled, barely staying on his feet.
I lost count as Hudson kept going. His movements were smooth, almost casual.
Niall’s face was getting destroyed—blood everywhere, lip split open, nose bleeding, one eye swelling shut. He was falling apart but somehow still standing.
When Niall finally hit the floor, I thought it was over. But Hudson wasn’t done. He walked over to where Niall lay crumpled up and kicked him in the stomach. Hard. Then did it again. And again.
Each kick made Niall cough up more blood. My wolf whined inside me, not feeling sorry for Niall but shaken by the raw dominance on display.
Even though Niall was an Alpha with strong healing abilities, he could’ve really gotten hurt under Hudson’s one-sided attack like that.I didn’t want to be tomorrow’s front-page gossip in the pack news as some bloody love triangle drama.
"Hudson!" I jumped forward and grabbed his arm with both hands. "Goddess, you’re going to kill him! Stop!"
When he turned to look at me, I stopped breathing.
His eyes had changed—not the warm blue I was used to, but wild, burning anger.
His wolf was completely in control now, and that scared the crap out of me.
Even strong Alphas didn’t lose it this badly.
I almost let go.
My fingers shook against his arm, feeling all that power ready to explode.
But I stayed put.
"Hudson, please stop," I whispered, trying to sound calm. "I know you’re protecting me. I’m fine now, and Niall got what he deserved."
If he didn’t snap out of it, I might actually have to help Niall. God, what a nightmare that would be.
But something in my voice got through. The wild look in his eyes flickered, and slowly, he came back.
His face went back to normal, that controlled look I knew.
He blinked once, and the crazy violence just... disappeared.
Then he looked down at the wrist Niall had grabbed, and his whole expression changed. He stepped closer and took my arm really gently, like I might break.
His thumb brushed over the red marks that were already turning purple. Great. I was going to look like a domestic violence poster.
"He hurt you," he said quietly, which was weird after he’d just beaten someone half to death.
"I’m fine. It’s nothing. Looks worse than it feels." I tried to pull away, but he held on. Not hard, just enough to keep me there.
"Come with me," he said. "I’ll put something on it."
He started walking me toward his place like I’d already agreed. Which, knowing him, he probably thought I had. The Alpha thing was still going strong, all protective and possessive.
Behind us, Niall made some pathetic groaning sound.
Then Niall’s voice came out, wet and wheezy through his bloody mouth.
"You... you can’t do this... this is an offense against another pack’s Alpha... I’ll report you to the Council... I’m reporting this..."
He reached for his pocket with a shaky hand, then realized his phone had slid halfway down the hall during the fight. It was sitting in the corner, totally out of reach.
He started crawling for it, dragging himself across the floor like some determined but pathetic slug.
He didn’t even make it ten inches before Hudson’s expensive shoe came down on his hand. Hard.
Niall froze, his eyes traveling up Hudson’s body until he met his gaze. The perfectly put-together fury looking down at him.
That shut him up real quick.
Hudson looked at Niall like he was examining dog crap on his shoe.
"Yes, report me. Let’s tell the Council how you stole an access card, broke into private territory after midnight, and tried to assault and kidnap my wife.I’m sure they’ll be super sympathetic."
"I didn’t... I wasn’t forcing Christina, I just..."
"Shut the fuck up." Hudson’s voice dropped to that scary level that made my wolf want to hide.
He pressed harder on Niall’s hand.
Niall let out a howl and bit his tongue to keep from shifting.
Hudson pulled out his phone and made a call.
Two security guards showed up so fast I figured they’d been waiting around the corner.
One grabbed Niall’s left arm, the other his right.
"Alpha Hudson, this is our fault. We’ll take him to holding right now. This won’t happen again."
When the hallway finally cleared and all the testosterone settled, Hudson turned to me, caught my wrist gently, and led me into his place.
"Your wrist is hurt," he said. "Let me take care of it. Then we’ll have the pack doctor check you over."
"I’m fine. Really." My voice didn’t sound convincing, mostly because I was still shaken from watching him beat Niall like that.
I sat on the leather couch, which was actually comfortable despite looking like modern art, and tried not to fidget.
Hudson knelt in front of me with a first aid kit, ignoring my protests.
My wrist hurt, but what made me flinch wasn’t the pain. It was remembering that look in his eyes earlier. That cold control snapping into something wild and dangerous.
He paused, fingers hovering over my skin, and looked up.
"Are you upset that I beat up Niall?"
His voice wasn’t smug or sorry. Just careful. Too careful for someone who’d nearly killed another Alpha five minutes ago.
If I hadn’t grabbed his arm when I did, his wolf might have taken over completely. I wasn’t worried about Niall. I was worried Hudson might do something he couldn’t take back.
When I didn’t answer right away, he went back to gently cleaning my wrist.
I could tell from how his mouth tightened that my silence was bothering him.
I’d been tied to Niall for years.Wasted, painful years where I fooled myself into thinking he might actually want me as his mate someday.
Hudson knew that whole mess. I didn’t blame him for thinking I might still care about Niall. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
But I didn’t. Not even a little.
"No," I said clearly.
He looked up again, studying my face like he was trying to catch me in a lie.
"I wasn’t worried about him. I was scared your wolf would push you too far and you’d kill him. Then you’d be in trouble with the Council."
His hands stopped moving.
Then he smiled. It was the kind of dangerous smile that made my heart skip. "So you were worried about me?"
"Yes.If you’d actually killed him,we’d both be facing the Council, with me as a witness."
"I was in control. My wolf knew exactly how far to go." He stood up, looking down at me. "So you don’t feel the mate bond with him anymore?"
"Not at all."
"Good. Then you won’t mind if I tell Dominic to make sure Niall has a really uncomfortable night in holding?"
He reached for his phone.
