Chapter 362: Chapter 363 I’m On My Way

Christina’s POV

Bright, unwelcome morning had come.

Niall’s coughing made my stomach drop. Was it fever? An infected wound?

Shit.

I rushed to him and pressed my hand to his forehead. "You’re burning up."

"Danger... it’s dangerous... Chrissy..." he muttered. "No, don’t... Chrissy.... look out!"

"Niall? Wake up." He was twitching, caught in a nightmare.

I called out again but got no response.

I shook him gently. "Niall! Wake up!"

"Hmm?" His eyes flew open, disoriented.

He winced, shaking his head. "Fine. Just need water."

When he tried to sit up, I pushed him back down. "Stay put. I’ll get it."

I poured a glass and handed it to him. "Feeling any better? You’ve definitely got a fever. That wound’s infected. You said you bought antibiotics?"

"Yeah, in the bag."

I emptied the supplies onto the bed, found the ibuprofen and antibiotics, and placed them in his hand. "Take these. Then get some proper sleep. Hopefully your fever will break soon."

He nodded weakly, swallowing the pills.

I got another glass of water and helped him drink.

I walked to the window and pulled the curtain aside to look out.

Where the hell were we? I didn’t recognize anything. The street was quiet and nearly empty. Probably some small town in the middle of nowhere.

I couldn’t just wait around helplessly. I thought about sneaking out to call someone, but I was afraid of running into the kidnappers. Better to wait until dark for cover.

Niall was asleep on the bed. I wasn’t joining him. I collapsed into the armchair instead, my thoughts racing until exhaustion took over.

I woke up and Niall was gone.

Before I could panic, the door opened and he came in.

"Where were you?" I asked sharply. "Did you go out again?"

"I got some food," he said. "Bread and milk aren’t enough. Try some steak." He pointed to a takeout box.

"Ugh..." The smell of meat made my stomach turn. I couldn’t help it and rushed to the bathroom to vomit.

"You okay?" Niall followed and patted my back. He handed me a tissue and poured some water. "Drink some."

I felt weak and awful. I sat down heavily, took the glass, and sipped. fгeewebnovёl.com

"I don’t know what’s happening to me." I felt like I was falling apart. I felt awful, constantly tired and sick.

"Your senses are coming back, "Akira noted. "Maybe your body is adjusting."

Niall said, "You haven’t been getting proper rest or food. It’s probably just your stomach. When we get back to Highrise City, we’ll go to the hospital."

I nodded. My eyelids felt heavy as lead, but my queasy stomach kept me awake. I felt absolutely miserable.

I must have fallen asleep anyway. When I woke up, Niall was gone again.

God, I missed Hudson. He must be worried sick.

Niall came back with a bag of fruit.

"I got apples, tangerines, and grapefruit," he said. "What would you like?"

"Not right now. I need to ask you something."

"What?"

"I lost my phone and you won’t use yours. Why can’t we borrow one?"

"From who?"

"There have to be other people here."

Niall frowned.

"Like the front desk. We could use their phone."

He considered this. "That could be risky."

I gave him a hard look.

"He doesn’t want you calling Hudson, "Akira growled.

Niall averted his eyes. "You’re right. I’ll make the call now."

When he turned to go, I grabbed his sleeve. "I’m coming too. I want to call Hudson myself." fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm

"Fine."

He was clearly reluctant. Was he hiding something?

He walked me out of the room.

I realized then how small this "hotel" really was—probably just a house converted into a hotel.

The front desk was empty. Niall knocked on a door downstairs. After a long wait, an older woman in pajamas appeared, looking annoyed.

"What do you want?" she demanded.

"Could I borrow your phone?" I asked. "I need to make an urgent call."

The woman glanced at Niall, who nodded.

She grudgingly said, "Come in."

She gave me her phone. I had Hudson’s number memorized and dialed quickly.

The call went through and I heard his deep, familiar voice. "Hello?"

"Hudson, it’s me," I said.

"Christina? Where are you? I’m coming to get you right now."

I turned to Niall. "Where are we?"

He reached for the phone. "Give it to me," he said. "I’ll talk to him."

I gave Niall the phone.

He took it and quickly gave the address, then added urgently, "Be careful. They’re looking everywhere for us. This call is risky, but I hope you get here first."

He handed the phone back, looking grim.

"Hudson..." I had so much to say, but the words stuck in my throat.

"Chrissy, don’t be afraid. I’m on my way to you right now."

"I’m safe. Don’t worry."

I reluctantly hung up, already missing his voice. Niall walked me back to the room, then went out to check the perimeter.

When he came back, he poured me some water. "Sit down. Hudson won’t be here for at least three hours from Highrise City."

I took the glass and drank, realizing how thirsty I was. Deep exhaustion had settled into my bones. It made no sense. I hadn’t done anything physically demanding, but I felt completely exhausted every day.

Probably just stress from being fucking kidnapped.

Niall went to the window, peering carefully through the curtains.

I watched him, questions racing through my mind. How did he find me before Hudson did? How did he avoid my kidnappers? Who did he think was responsible?

But Niall obviously wasn’t in the mood to talk, and even if he were, I doubted he’d tell me everything.

I yawned.

Niall turned around. "You should get some sleep."

I shook my head stubbornly, but my body had other plans. Sitting on the bed, I must have fallen asleep while protesting.

When I opened my eyes again, I could hardly believe what I saw.

Hudson was sitting on the edge of the bed, holding my hand.
