Chapter 167: Talk with Brother and Progress
"So, how’s your academy life, Noah?"
Nathan asked with a relaxed smile while taking a sip of his coffee.
Noah leaned back slightly in his chair.
"Hmm. Everything is good."
Nathan nodded with understanding expression.
"I heard about and saw your records. You are doing really amazing. Your performance is far better than Father and I ever expected. Not only that, you even contributed during the attack that occurred at the academy. That’s really great."
Noah chuckled lightly.
"Haha, thank you for the compliments. And I am really working hard."
Nathan looked at him carefully before nodding again.
"Hmm, I know that. I can see it."
A thoughtful expression appeared on his face.
"And even your personality has changed a lot. If it were the old you, you would have shown anger toward me rather than joking around."
Noah smiled faintly.
"Change was needed. So I changed."
He shrugged.
"And I feel much better now. I even made new friends."
A pleased smile appeared on Nathan’s face.
"Good to hear that."
Noah hesitated briefly before asking.
"So... how’s Mother? Is she... still angry?"
Nathan immediately laughed.
"Of course. She’s still angry."
He shook his head while chuckling.
"Haha."
Then his expression softened.
"But I think if you continue to be like this... her anger might calm down."
Noah nodded.
"Okay... I will try my best."
Then he narrowed his eyes.
"But why are you here? Don’t tell me you came just to talk and meet me after such a long time."
Nathan rubbed the back of his neck.
"Hey, I really did want to meet you. That’s why I came."
Then his expression became slightly serious.
"Also, there’s something else I wanted to tell you."
Noah raised an eyebrow.
"What is it?"
Nathan smiled.
"After a lot of convincing, Mother allowed you to visit home."
He paused briefly.
"So come home during the summer holidays after your first semester ends."
Noah was visibly surprised.
His eyes widened slightly.
Then he nodded.
"Okay."
A small smile appeared on his face.
"Okay. I’ll come."
There was no reason for Noah to refuse.
He didn’t hold any anger toward his family.
’I might be able to get some money from my family during that time.’
A thoughtful expression appeared on his face.
’And unlike the old Noah, I can finally learn properly from Father during the holidays.’
Noah nodded to himself before looking back at Nathan.
"Is that all you wanted to say?"
He tilted his head slightly.
"Is that why you came to meet me?"
Nathan went silent for a few moments.
Then he sighed.
"Actually, there’s another reason."
He shook his head.
"But you don’t need to worry about it."
A small smile appeared on his face.
"I have something to do with the academy. That’s the primary reason I came."
Noah simply nodded.
"Oh, okay."
He didn’t ask what that reason was.
Then a teasing smile appeared on his face.
"So meeting me wasn’t your primary objective."
He pointed at Nathan dramatically.
"I was just a side quest."
Nathan immediately rolled his eyes.
"Hey, don’t say that."
Noah laughed.
The two brothers continued talking for a while.
Eventually, Noah stood up from his chair.
"Since you have work to do, I’ll get going now."
He stretched his arms slightly.
"I’m heading to training."
Then he looked at Nathan.
"Also, when you’re done with whatever you came here for, call me. I’ll come meet you before you leave."
Nathan nodded.
"Sure."
A proud smile appeared on his face.
"You can go and work hard."
Noah waved casually before leaving the café.
Nathan remained seated for a while.
Leaning back in his chair, he quietly stared through the large glass wall.
His thoughts seemed distant.
Then a voice suddenly interrupted his silence.
"So, how does he look now?"
The voice was calm.
"Your brother."
A figure approached the table.
Nathan looked up.
A faint smile appeared on his face.
"He changed."
He shook his head in disbelief.
"Changed a lot."
His gaze drifted toward the direction Noah had left.
"I can’t believe he’s the same little brother I know."
The newcomer sat down in the seat Noah had occupied only a few minutes ago. A familiar academy uniform came into view.
It was Victor. The weapon arts instructor of Novaris Academy.
Victor folded his arms. "I guess you’re happy seeing him in a better state."
Nathan nodded. "What about you?" He looked directly at Victor. "You’re his weapon arts instructor."
Victor leaned back slightly.
"I have to say..."
A small smile appeared on his face.
"Your brother has really changed."
His eyes narrowed thoughtfully.
"And he’s getting stronger day by day."
Nathan chuckled.
"I am happy to hear that."
Then his expression became serious.
"So."
He lowered his voice.
"What exactly is going on?"
His eyes sharpened.
"Did you find anything during the incident in the forests near Oakhaven City?"
Victor immediately sighed.
Suddenly, an invisible dome-like barrier formed around their table. The surrounding sounds disappeared. The barrier ensured that nobody could hear their conversation.
Victor rubbed his forehead. "We’re in a public place." His expression became annoyed. "Don’t ask things like that out of nowhere."
Nathan coughed awkwardly. "Oh, sorry." He smiled sheepishly. "I really wanted to know about it."
Victor simply nodded. Then his expression became serious. "Boss said it was a lesser form of an Eternal Monarch."
Nathan’s eyes widened.
"What?"
He leaned forward.
"So... that thing was really a Monarch?"
Victor nodded.
"Yes."
His voice remained calm.
"It only appeared for less than a minute."
A serious look crossed his face.
"Most of its power had been used to open the portal... It’s amusing as it actually decided go show up on the calling of some normal demon. It means... it actually want to enter this world. But it’s still hard. It was lesser form not true. " freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
He paused.
"And if not for our boss being present there..."
Victor’s expression darkened.
"The situation could have become much worse."
Nathan clenched his teeth. "And my brother survived something like that."
Victor nodded again.
"Yes."
Then he stood up.
"Let’s move."
His eyes shifted toward the exit.
"Boss is waiting for you."
Nathan immediately stood. The invisible barrier dissolved. The sounds of the café returned. Without saying anything further, both men left the café.
And headed toward an unknown destination.
---
Noah, completely unaware of what Nathan and Victor had been discussing.
Or who exactly they were referring to as Boss.
He walked carefree toward the training grounds. Standing in the open field, he raised one hand.
A focused expression appeared on his face. Mana inside his core began moving rapidly throughout his body.
The air around him suddenly grew colder. Then weapons made entirely of ice started forming around him.
This time not six or not even ten. But nearly thirty weapons appeared within a few seconds.
They were words, spears and daggers and axes.
Floating silently in the air.Ready to launch at Noah’s command. A wide grin spread across his face.
"Damn, this is amazing."He looked genuinely excited. "It’s definitely the effect of my bloodline."
At first, Noah had wondered what exactly his bloodline did. Was its only effect breaking his potential limit?
Apparently not.His Innate Ability, Ice Creation. Had become far easier and more efficient to use.
Previously, he had needed to concentrate on every detail of whatever he wanted to create.
The shape, the structure and balance, everything, he needed to focus on it.
Now it was different. All he needed to do was think about it. Give a command. And the ice would automatically form whatever he desired.
It was perfect. As though the ice itself understood what he wanted.
Not only that. The amount of mana required had decreased significantly.
A huge advantage.Noah moved his hand. The weapons instantly shot through the air. Their movements were smooth and incredibly fast.
One by one, they flew around the training field like obedient soldiers.
Noah controlled each weapon individually. And the strain on his brain had also decreased greatly.
Which was another huge benefit."Haha!"
His grin widened. "This is going to be fun."
Several nearby students stopped their training. They looked upward in shock. Dozens of crystalline weapons danced through the sky.
Almost like a performance.Like some grand magical spectacle.
Then Noah snapped his fingers.
Crack.
All the weapons shattered instantly. Countless tiny particles of ice scattered through the air before disappearing.
Noah exhaled in satisfaction."My ability is getting better and better every day..."
A confident smile appeared on his face. "And Adaptive Learning helps with everything."
"Status Window."
