Chapter 164: Possibilities
Noah entered his dormitory room.
He was feeling slightly happy. After all, his conversation with Mary had left him in a better mood.
He headed straight to the bathroom to take a warm bath. He had been training earlier, and his body needed the rest.
A while later, he came out of the bathroom while drying his body with a towel.
He then jumped onto his bed and lay on his back.
His eyes stared at the ceiling. freewёbnoνel.com
A thoughtful expression appeared on his face.
’Hm... that thing was related to the Eternal Monarch... a Monarch to whom that demon was going to sacrifice students.’
He frowned slightly. freewebnøvel.coɱ
’Was that Monarch related to sacrifice, blood, or flesh...?’
Noah couldn’t tell exactly.
What he needed to do now was search for any information related to Monarchs.
If there was any. The second thing he needed to do was learn about secret organizations.
A thoughtful look settled on his face.
’A world like this must have some secret organizations...’
His eyes narrowed slightly.
’Some that are evil or act like cults... and others that work to protect the world, even if it means using evil methods.’
Noah sat up and walked over to his desk.
He pulled out the chair and sat down.
Then he took out the notebook where he had written information about the first two Acts of the game.
Now it was time for the Third Act.
He opened the notebook and started writing everything down in detail.
After finishing, his thoughts drifted toward Ophelia and the story of her mother.
A thoughtful expression crossed his face.
’She was supposed to be a hidden heroine...’
He tapped the notebook lightly with his finger. ’The protagonist could probably have her as a lover. At least, I think so.’
Noah then started thinking about how these kinds of stories usually unfolded.
A young woman seeking revenge against the demon who had killed her mother.
The first possibility that came to mind was the most common one.
He rested his chin on his hand while thinking. She would try to kill the demon herself.
Then, when she was on the verge of death, the protagonist would appear and save her.
Together they would fight the demon and kill him.
That was a very normal story route. Another possibility was a romance route. The protagonist could help her become stronger.
Or motivate her to keep moving forward.
Maybe he would even help her get rid of Noah, who was supposed to force himself on her after their engagement was broken.
Noah continued thinking.
Perhaps Noah would become obsessed with her, while Damien helped protect her.
But then he frowned.
’The real Noah died before the academy even started.’
He leaned back slightly in his chair.
’So that possibility shouldn’t count.’
A puzzled expression appeared on his face.
’But then again... it’s weird.’
His brows furrowed.
’A character like Noah should have stayed alive in the story for a while.’
The more he thought about it, the stranger it seemed.
’Someone obsessed with Ophelia...’
He narrowed his eyes.
’Someone who would eventually join the villains and become a minor antagonist.’
Noah tapped the desk thoughtfully.
’Then the protagonist would save Ophelia from him.’
Noah continued considering different possibilities for some time.
Unfortunately, he didn’t have enough information.
This was the best he could do for now.
Then a sudden realization crossed his mind.
"Now that I think about it..."
He muttered quietly to himself.
"The next Act should be the first-semester exam..."
That was usually how the story progressed after all.
A thoughtful expression appeared on his face again.
’Hmm...’
Then another thought suddenly entered his mind.
A slightly confused look appeared on his face.
’I have been doing so well...’
He paused.
’So why haven’t I received a call from my family?’
---
The atmosphere inside the principal’s office was unusually heavy.
Behind a large wooden desk sat Adrian, the principal of Novaris Academy.
His white old hair was neatly combed back, and his aged face carried a calm but serious expression.
The room was silent except for the ticking of a clock hanging on the wall.
Standing in front of him was Morgana Celestine.
She had just finished explaining everything that had happened during the field trip.
From the appearance of the suspicious demon to the ritual site hidden within the forest and the attempted sacrifice of students.
As she spoke, Adrian listened without interrupting a single time.
His fingers remained folded together on top of the desk while his sharp eyes stayed fixed on Morgana.
When she finally finished, silence filled the room.
A few moments passed before Adrian slowly leaned back in his chair.
His expression darkened.
"This is bad..." he said quietly.
Morgana’s brows furrowed.
Adrian’s eyes narrowed as he stared toward the window behind her.
"It clearly indicates one thing."
A brief pause followed.
"They are awakening slowly."
Morgana frowned.
For a second she didn’t understand who he was referring to.
Then realization struck her.
Her eyes immediately turned serious.
"You mean..." she said slowly. "The Monarchs?"
Adrian gave a grim nod.
"Yes."
The single word carried an unsettling weight.
The room seemed to grow colder.
Morgana crossed her arms, her expression becoming increasingly troubled.
"But there should be more time for it to happen...Isn’t this too earlier than expected?"
"Yes...it is," Adrian replied. "At least for now. However, if demons are already conducting sacrifices in it’s names, then it means their influence is beginning to leak into the world again. Not all monarch need sacrifice..only few...or maybe one...only they need it."
Finally, Adrian stood from his chair. His expression was firm.
"We don’t have the luxury of waiting."
He looked directly at Morgana.
"Contact the Hero Association Council immediately."
His voice became stern.
"We need an emergency meeting regarding this incident as soon as possible."
Morgana nodded.
"I’ll do it right away."
The old principal turned toward the window once more.
His gaze drifted toward the distant horizon.
And for the first time in many years, genuine concern appeared in his eyes.
