Chapter 3639: Getting Better

The combination of 7 spirit roots on its own was able to provide Alex with the ability to withstand other people, even a True God, from taking over his mind.

So, he could only wonder what would happen should he get all 7 of his roots to the Supreme Grade. That had to be the fabled Perfect Unity, a state at which a person would improve as a cultivator simply by existing. Even Hannah didn’t have it that easy.

"Even if that were true, I still need to find a way to get 4 more Supreme Roots," Alex thought with a sigh. The easiest way was of course by him using the Half-God powers. But he couldn’t even begin to imagine just how much energy he would need for something like that.

It had to be something comparable to the Nine Yang Divine Tree, the Yin Bead, or the White Tiger Progenitor’s Blood Essence. He didn’t have any idea how he could go about it.

Alex ignored those thoughts and started performing his next series of tests, which involved 4 roots now. With the greater number of roots, Alex needed to use specific auras less and less now. In fact, when he did try to use a singular element, the numbers got worse.

Aside from certain reasons such as influence on a single root based on the way it was affected by the other roots, Alex almost did not test individual elements.

As Alex continued, he got even better at predicting the numbers he would receive after certain combinations, to the point where he was starting to be off by less than 30 in many cases. And as he continued, he got even better and better.

He could almost instinctively tell the result based on just how things worked. For example, in the case of a combination of 4 roots, from weaker to stronger, being Fire, Wood, Metal, and Water, the following were what Alex guessed and what he got.

For the Fire root, based on the fact that it was Ruined by a stronger Metal and Controlled by a stronger Water, it was bound to come out weaker than normal. Even when it had Wood Empowering it, which was then Empowered by Water, it couldn’t do much.

From his understanding of how things went, he guessed that absorbing only Fire treasures would give him an average of 460. The result turned out to be 446.

For the Wood Root, there was nothing Ruining it. The only thing Weakening it was a slightly stronger Metal root, and the Water root was Empowering it, which was Empowered by the Metal root. The Fire Root Weakened it a little, but it was already weak to begin with and was being actively Ruined by Metal, so the final result was stronger.

From what Alex guessed, he would receive an average of 540, while the true average was 548.

For the Metal root, which was the second strongest root, because of the fact that there was no root Empowering it, and only roots that Weakened, Controlled, or Ruined it, it had the worst result of all.

Alex guessed it would receive an average of 380, and it ended up receiving 389.

Finally, for the Water root, it was actively Ruined by Fire and Weakened by Wood. However, given that the second-best root besides itself was Empowering it, Water was quite strong overall. Even though it wasn’t in a situation as advantageous as Wood, its overall quality made it about equal.

Alex guessed a score of 590 and learned that it was a perfect 600 score.

It was the best one yet.

Alex continued doing more tests, but as his knowledge deepened, his guesses became quite acute as well. It got to a point where doing tests wasn’t even needed at all. However, he still needed to continue doing it as there was just no way to tell what was true and what wasn’t without completing the tests.

Or so Alex thought.

Nearly 45 years into his tests, as he reached the final few tests of his four-spirit-root combinations, he was meant to test Yang, Yin, Metal, and Water. freewebnσvel.cѳm

He had already guessed the result, so now it was only a matter of finding out how close he was. Two months passed and the test was over. The scores were up for Alex to see. However, Alex didn’t open his eyes at all.

His mind had gone through previous information he had learned until now, and in thinking through them, he had slowly lost track of his time. He had fallen into a trance and was lost in it.

The test period came to an end and passed, and more time passed. Slowly, nearly half a year of cultivating while within the trance passed, at which point Alex finally saw a change.

He broke free from his trance, not by forcing himself to be free, but by making use of it entirely and leaving nothing else to be learned. freewēbnoveℓ.com

As Alex opened his eyes, he ignored the numbers that floated in front of him and instead slowly looked up. Above him was the ceiling. And beyond the ceiling was the change.

The sky above the Sky God’s palace slowly came alive as heavy energy gathered right there. Every single man and woman looked to the sky, somewhat interested in learning who was gaining a new Dao.

It was a regular enough thing that no one bothered remembering it.

Only a few people were interested in any way at all.

The Sky God and Bladedance were left rather curious as well, because as the oldest people there, they had been privy to much information that was being summoned around them. So, they knew about almost every Dao that was out there.

However, they were currently sensing an aura they had never in their lives sensed before. That was the truth for the various Reverends and Sages as well.

Each and every single one of those people was left watching as Alex called forth the Worldly Laws and learned a Dao that had perhaps not been learned by anyone in the entire world.
