Chapter 1277: Chapter 83: Reboot_2
Bologue looked forward; the steps were about to come to an end. Old Furya was sitting on a chair beneath the spire, her gaze somber, and though she had not launched an attack, she stared at Bologue intently, full of hatred.
"Okay."
Following a series of dialogues by Bologue, the pressure on young Furya’s heart lightened considerably. Then, Bologue tightly grasped her hand, as the ether rebounded between their palms, like triggered static electricity.
Under young Furya’s gaze, the radiance from the Alchemy Matrix crawled up the Scale Armor-covered arm of the Evil Spirit. Then the luminescent patterns broke through the confines of the body, advancing to young Furya’s palms and arms.
Young Furya felt another surge of ether invading her body, and she immediately developed strong resistance, nearly initiating an attack on Bologue, but she restrained herself.
"What are you doing?"
"Don’t resist," Bologue’s voice was cold, allowing no refusal.
Young Furya hesitated momentarily, but eventually chose to trust Bologue, obeying his power, allowing the ether to gradually occupy her body, even completely dominate her.
Now, young Furya’s life and death rested entirely on Bologue’s whim; he could explode her ether internally, or, like slaying the security staff, launch his Protection and devour her ether.
"I constantly remind myself, never to be arrogant, to always remain humble."
Bologue said, "So I have a principle: when I discover a possibility, there surely exist individuals who are more competent than I am, who identified this possibility many years ago."
"Like you."
"Me?"
"Are you really just an unstable mutation?" Bologue questioned, "As a mutation, your mutation direction seems too stable."
Young Furya appeared harmless, if she truly was a product of mutation, she would likely possess a vicious, twisted will.
"Moreover, when Furya replicated her consciousness, she not only considered mass duplication and proliferation, but in realizing her cognitive distortion, didn’t she anticipate her consciousness leading to the Ruins District’s loss of control?"
Bologue didn’t believe he was more outstanding than Furya in this aspect, he also trusted that as a scholar capable of independently completing consciousness replication, Furya must have considered all possibilities.
"I think she definitely considered this and made preparations," Bologue sighed, "But ultimately, she was alone, even if she calculated all this and prepared for it, unexpected events can occur."
"For instance, the countermeasures didn’t launch as she foresaw."
Bologue remarked and once again looked at young Furya, she seemed to vaguely understand Bologue’s words.
"Are you saying... I am that countermeasure?"
"These Furya figures have assumed different functions, they unavoidably develop numerous redundancies over prolonged operation, impacting their function, leading to distorted cognition and operation direction."
Bologue speculated, "With these erroneous redundancies accumulating, the Ruins District also becomes distorted and deformed... the Ruins District requires a restart, not only a restart, but to completely replace all these redundant programs, substituting with a brand new, primal program.
Just like Furya did initially, no one is born a warrior or a scholar, everyone needs learning, her replicated consciousness functioned in the Ruins District, continuously evolving through learning."
From a blank sheet, to filled with endless writing.
Young Furya felt an inexplicable sense of responsibility weighing on her shoulders; she grasped the essence of Bologue’s speculation.
"Furya, you possess functions entirely different from them," Bologue stated, "You can freely open safe passages, only achievable with the highest authority within the Order Bureau, similarly, your authority level within the Ruins District must be high.
You’re pure and untainted, akin to a newborn child, under the influence of self-preservation, you hid within the Ruins District, if not for me... no, it’s not coincidental, but a carefully designed encounter.
Possibly even unbeknownst to yourself, you are faithfully executing the orders set by the original Furya, when redundancy reaches a threshold, to restart everything.
But you can’t achieve this, so you found me."
Young Furya appeared perplexed, incredulous, "No... how is that possible?"
"Nothing is impossible," Bologue shook his head, extending his palm, "This is the best proof."
The imprint of the Staff Sword clearly came into view.
Bologue softly said, "Furya knew the Order Bureau would overcome challenges, and she knew the Order Bureau would eventually reclaim lost ground, so she always remembered the Decision Room’s imprint."
Young Furya fell silent and spoke no more. At the end of the steps, old Furya’s gaze changed; in her view, Bologue still had the appearance of the Evil Spirit, yet internally, he was subtly transforming, his supreme authority belonging to the Decision Room now slowly overlapping with young Furya.
Even within the Commanding School, Bologue’s Secret Energy was of an extremely special kind; most of the Commanding School injected ether into commanding objects for manipulation, whereas Bologue, when necessary, could extend his Alchemy Matrix onto material, converting external items into parts of himself, manipulating commanded objects like controlling his limbs.
