Chapter 1554: Chapter 964: The Transcendence Path (13): Divine Power of the Creator God_2
In the beginning was the primeval wilderness; these intelligent humanoid creatures learned to use tools and fire, and then gradually developed a civilization akin to the Bronze Age.
Next, agrarian culture emerged, tribes and nations gradually took shape...
War, peace, prosperity, progress...
That civilization went on developing, growing stronger, ceaselessly maturing, evolving...
Little by little, their technology exploded, and an information age similar to Blue Star’s dawned.
The first satellite was launched into the sky; for the first time, the civilization cast its gaze upon the sea of stars.
The age continued to advance, the civilization kept progressing, until at last... they broke free of their planet and walked amidst the cosmos.
In that moment, they became an interstellar civilization.
Star system after star system was explored by them, space base after space base was established.
Mighty fleets roamed the interstellar void, the civilization’s footprints gradually spread across the whole starry sky.
After traversing the entire firmament, they began to explore the edges of the universe.
Gradually, they finally reached the end of the world; they beheld the scene beyond the universe, and saw the figure of Eve.
Religion rose once more.
This time, they took the universe’s "background panel"—Eve’s outstretched finger—as the supreme Divine and worshiped Her...
The age continued to move forward, the civilization ceaselessly advanced.
The end of religion is always accompanied by doubt.
Little by little, their worship of Eve grew ever more sparse, yet the number of fleets became ever more vast, their technology ever more advanced.
At last, after bidding farewell to worship completely, their science and technology underwent repeated explosions, and all manner of awe‑inspiring megastructures appeared among the celestial bodies.
Ringworlds, matter decompressors, Dyson spheres...
In the end, a colossal weapon spanning the entirety of the micro‑universe was constructed, aimed straight at Eve, who watched the fingertip universe with amused eyes.
Around that gigantic weapon, densely packed ships were already in position, seemingly ready at any moment to depart from the cradle that birthed them.
In the next instant, a blinding radiance erupted; that cannon‑like weapon unleashed a terrifying wave of light, lancing toward Eve...
Eve looked in mild astonishment at the beam thinner than a toothpick by who knows how many orders of magnitude, not moving at all.
The beam struck Her fingertip; the sensation was slightly warm, ticklish, like ants crawling.
This weapon spanning the entire micro‑universe seemed, in terms of offensive effect, only capable of making Eve feel something...
Then, the beam simply vanished.
Nothing happened.
Only the civilization within the micro‑universe fell into chaos.
Gradually, war erupted, civilizations perished, the ages of the celestial bodies flew by at breakneck speed...
In the end, stars were annihilated, black holes collapsed, and the universe met its heat‑death.
All returned to stillness, as though nothing at all had occurred.
Eve slowly withdrew Her finger, Her expression tinged with sighing regret.
Just now, She had personally witnessed the birth and destruction of a universe.
It was a micro‑universe She had created with Her own hand, a micro‑universe but ten minutes old.
To create a Plane World with a mere gesture is a power that only mighty Divine Power can possess...
But to create a universe with a mere gesture—that is a strength belonging to an existence one step beyond mighty Divine Power, a creation‑level being!
Although this was a micro‑universe whose energy scale was many orders of magnitude lower than that of the Segis Universe, it was nonetheless a universe complete unto itself, with its own laws!
And this meant that Eve was not merely an ordinary mighty Divine Power, but had already attained a creation‑level mighty Divine Power, able to stand on equal footing with the Segis Universe’s creator!
Yet Eve’s expression showed little joy; on the contrary... it was filled with sighing, with deep emotion.
The micro‑universe She had just idly created was very, very weak.
The total energy of that universe amounted to no more than a bit of magic element from the Segis World.
Such a force could be effortlessly destroyed even by a player who had only just crossed over.
And yet, in such a universe... within an extremely brief span of time, a high‑level civilization had been born that nearly transcended the cosmos.
If their target had not been Eve, but had merely been to break through the universe’s barrier, then perhaps... they would already have succeeded.
At that moment, Eve’s feelings were very complicated; for no reason, She associated them with the sentient beings who wished to transcend the Segis Universe, and with Herself, who sought to transcend all things...
As the creator of that universe, She had just been able to clearly perceive the emotions of the myriad living beings within that civilization.
The confusion and awakening that accompany growth...
The shock and fervor of first beholding the universe’s "background panel"...
The swelling fear and doubt that grew ever stronger as time passed...
The hope and faith in defeating the existence behind the universe, transcending it, and journeying to a vaster realm...
And, after their final failure, the despair and madness...
"Such a true likeness..."
She gave a soft sigh and dispersed the radiance at Her fingertip.
In that moment, Eve seemed to behold the shadow of the Segis Universe.
Sighing once, Eve reached out again, gathering up the low‑energy dust, akin to abyssal power, left behind after the micro‑universe’s heat‑death.
Then, She stepped out of the temple.
"Goddess—Mother Goddess—Eve!"
Seeing Eve’s figure, Fairy King Fenrir hurriedly flew over.
He went down on one knee, saluting Eve with deep respect, his gaze filled with fanatic fervor.
In the next moment, accompanied by streams of sacred radiance, the many mythic beings who followed Eve descended in turn.
Diana, Aurora, Eris, Kai Leici, and the Mythical Giant Dragons such as Golden Dragon Mars, who, though his contract had long since expired, still lingered unwilling to depart...
"Goddess—Mother Goddess—Eve!"
They likewise saluted Eve with reverent respect.
Eve inclined Her head slightly and smiled faintly:
"Everyone, during this time... you have labored hard."
Hearing Her words, the mythic beings all bowed once more.
"Goddess—Mother Goddess—Eve, congratulations on your further ascension, on achieving greatness!"
The Divine Miracle of Eve’s awakening had rippled through the entire universe; even in the Abyss it had been seen clearly.
That was by no means the power of strong Divine Power, and so all the mythic beings understood that their patron deity had successfully taken another step forward.
Of course, limited by their outlook, they simply believed that Eve had advanced to mighty Divine Power.
In truth, even Eve herself had only just now realized that creation‑level mighty Divine Power and the mighty Divine Power of which the gods spoke were two entirely different things.
Rather than calling it creation‑level mighty Divine Power, it would be more accurate to call it creation Divine Power.
Once this step is reached, "Divine Power" itself loses meaning; what matters most is the collection of laws, and the Original Law replaces Divine Power as the wellspring of the Divines’ strength.
The two are concepts of utterly different orders.
Of course, Eve did not offer any further explanation.
She sensed more mythic auras flying toward Her true body.
And beyond the World Tree, in the boundless void.
Under the players’ stunned gazes, streams of dazzling Holy Light flew in from all directions, descending before the World Tree.
Radiance flickered: these were mythic beings, one after another.
There were True Gods of Faith, and there were Ancient Gods.
These existences, whom players ordinarily could hardly encounter even with exhaustive effort and schemes, beings of legend only—at this moment had all descended!
Ancient God Guy, Death God Hela, and Dragon Ancestor Ulynos stood at the very front.
Their eyes upon the World Tree were likewise filled with shock.
They exchanged glances, and then the oldest, Guy, stepped forward, bowing with solemn reverence toward the World Tree:
"Congratulations to you, great Era Dominator, Eve, on ascending to the supreme seat."
As his words fell, a dazzling gate of light appeared before the gods, and Eve’s ethereal voice slowly drifted forth:
"Everyone, come in."
Ulynos and Hela did not hesitate, stepping into it in one stride.
Ancient God Guy followed closely behind.
The other gods looked at one another, then likewise followed the three strong Divine Powers into the gate.
In the next instant, they too appeared within the Divine Country.
And when they entered the Divine Country and saw Eve’s avatar—returned to the temple, seated high upon the divine throne, Her whole being suffused with vast and mighty power—their hearts were shaken all the more.
At that moment, even Ancient God Guy felt his own smallness.
Even though what stood before him was only an avatar.
