Chapter 1298: Chapter 1337: Telling Her About the Blood Curse

Could it be... a possibility was already emerging in Mabel Quinn’s heart.

"Every generation of the Kinston Family inherits this Blood Curse. My mother was my father’s lifeline, and you are mine." Kyle Kinston’s eyes fixed upon her, as he spoke.

Even though she had already guessed the possibility when he mentioned it earlier, when he said it out loud, she couldn’t help but gasp.

Lifeline... She remembered he always liked to say they were destined to rely on each other, yet didn’t know the true meaning hidden behind those words.

"Is what you’re saying... all true?" She stared at him wide-eyed, his words sounded so ethereal, so fantastical, yet his expression was so earnest.

"Now, do you think I would lie to you again?" Kyle said, this was actually the thing he least wanted to say. He had once decided to tell her this fact only when he was sure she truly loved him and couldn’t leave him.

But in the end, the one who couldn’t leave was him, not her.

Now, by saying this, he had truly entrusted his life into her hands, letting himself be completely controlled by her.

"What about Ivy..." Mabel suddenly thought of their daughter, "Could it be that Ivy will also inherit the Blood Curse you mentioned?"

"If in this lifetime, she’s the only child we have, then she will!" he replied.

His words immediately made her face turn pale, even her breath became somewhat rushed, "But Ivy is healthy now, her body hasn’t had any problems."

It was as if she was trying to convince herself, to tell herself that her daughter wouldn’t inherit the so-called Blood Curse.

But Kyle merely said, "That’s only because the Blood Curse hasn’t manifested yet. It will appear during childhood, but exactly at what age, it varies each month."

Mabel remained silent, the things he spoke of felt too unreal, too unbelievable.

She stared at him for a long moment before saying, "Kyle Kinston, why didn’t you tell me these things before, and only now you are telling me?"

He stiffened slightly, "If I said it’s because I didn’t want to repeat my parents’ mistakes, would you believe me?"

She paused, she also knew about his parents’ matters. Initially, she thought his mother left his father merely as an emotional retribution, but now it seemed there was another layer of meaning.

She also recalled that his father had committed suicide at the age of 43.

Was he afraid that once she knew about the Blood Curse and the lifeline, she would know his vulnerability and use it to threaten or punish him?

Mabel lowered her head, her gaze falling on their intertwined hands. His long fingers still firmly grasped her hand.

"Whether I believe or not doesn’t matter." She said softly, raising her hand to pry his fingers open one by one.

"So, you still don’t believe, do you?" he said with difficulty.

"I just want to have a quiet moment." She said, after all, the information in what he had just said was overwhelming, and she needed time to digest and think it through.
