Chapter 1291: Chapter 1330: Hoping We Never Meet Again
On the screen, a video from their wedding anniversary was playing. In the video, Kyle Kinston and Mabel Quinn appeared very happy. Watching this video, Dorian Howards felt a sourness in his heart. The happier the past, the more cruel the present seemed.
Dorian glanced at his friend beside him, only to see Kyle quietly watching the screen with a slight smile on his lips, as if he were immersed in the past.
At the end of the video, Dorian finally understood why his friend had regained his memory—it was because of this reason!
But after the video ended, the screen changed again, showing Mabel looking a bit haggard, her face calm as if she had seen through everything.
"Kyle, I’m leaving. I once said that I would love you for this lifetime, but now I can’t do that anymore. I have resented you, hated you, but now I don’t want to resent or hate anymore, so I’m willing to forgive you. If there’s really a next life, I hope in the next life you don’t know me, and I don’t know you, so no one will be hurt and no pain will exist."
She paused and then said, "I don’t know if you’ll have the chance to see this video. I’m really conflicted about whether to leave these words, so I’ll let fate decide."
"Fate, which made me see the words she left behind six years too late," Kyle’s voice broke the silence in the room.
Dorian looked at his friend, whose lips no longer held the smile of happiness from the past, but now carried a deep pain. "Dorian, how wrong do you think I was? She once said she wanted to be with me in the next life, she said she loved me, yet I destroyed all her love, making her say she never wants to see me again in the next life. The next life... she doesn’t know me, and I don’t know her... why was I so stubborn then? Why didn’t I let her keep the child? Why couldn’t I see what was truly important to me? I’m even more blind than Daniel Harris!"
Kyle roared, the pain in his chest surging. Each time he watched these videos, especially the last part with her message of lost hope, he felt heartache once more. Yet he still kept watching, watching the person he loved most, the past joy and the past errors.
His hand kept pounding his chest, as if to make himself hurt more.
It’s not painful enough! This pain is far from enough to pay back the pain he caused her back then!
"Kyle, it’s been six years. You can still do a lot of things; Mabel is still alive," Dorian said, stepping forward quickly.
"Yes, she’s still alive." He gave a bitter smile, "But..." He looked down at his right hand, "This hand, it slapped her face and even told her to get lost... I even suspect she didn’t want me to regain my memory because she loves Daniel. How far wrong do you think I went?"
But before Dorian could speak, Kyle had already raised his hand and slapped his own face heavily, the sharp sound echoing in the room.
————The main characters should be able to meet tomorrow. This weekend has been crazy. I only went to sleep at 2 a.m. the day before yesterday, and at 4 a.m. yesterday (oh, should say it was this morning at 4 a.m.). I even dragged my husband to help me. While I was using my phone to write today’s content, my husband helped me replace and upload the revised Chapters one by one. I hope everything can be replaced tonight~~~ And I hope everyone will continue to support the story. If anyone has votes, I hope you’ll cast a vote. I’ll do my best to write~~~ Hoping for a smooth rest of the year~~~
