Chapter 67: We Also Want to Beat Them

Just as Virelia was about to attack the magical beasts, a young man with tiger ears appeared in front of her.

*Slash...Slash...

The young man swung his dagger twice, saving her life and killing the beasts.

"Little brother..." Despite only seeing his back, she knew who he was.

Once he stored his weapon in his space ring, Ren returned to his original form and checked her condition.

’She is injured quite badly.’

He didn’t have any healing potion or first aid kit, so he could not treat her right away.

"Can you walk?" he asked.

"Come here. Move closer to me." She didn’t answer his question.

Ren was confused by her request.

But even so, he still did what he was told.

The moment he was close to her, she immediately pinched his cheeks. "This big sister’s right leg is injured, and you still ask that question?"

His eyelid twitched. "Why do you like to pinch me?"

"Because you are a bad boy!" She answered.

He removed her hands from his cheeks. "You are really a unique woman!"

"Of course! I’m special after all!" She was proud of her personality.

He could only smile at her behavior. "Alright. Let’s return now."

When he was about to carry her, she stopped him. "Wait! Help me find my sword first."

It was not an ordinary weapon, so she didn’t want to lose it.

"Where did it fall?" he asked.

"Over there!" she pointed her right index finger at the area where her sword had fallen.

Ren didn’t only pick it up, but also collected the beast cores. After she returned to her original form, he carried her on his back and brought her to the village.

"Your wounds are quite severe. You shou-Ouch!" he cried out in pain when she suddenly bit his right shoulder hard. "Why did you bite me?"

"Hmf! All of this is your fault!" she blamed him for everything.

"It was not me who asked you to come here," he defended himself. "And why did you come to the river without suspecting anything? Are you stupid? Even if I wanted to surprise you, I would not do it in a dangerous place."

Virelia was unhappy with his response, so she bit his right shoulder once more.

"Agh!" he screamed. "Alright. Alright. It’s my fault. I’m sorry."

He chose to give in as his life was at stake.

"You should have apologized from the start." She smiled happily.

"Weird woman!" he murmured.

She bit him once more.

"Aagghh!" Ren cried out in pain again.

"Hehe." Cassandra, who was following them in secret, could not help but giggle softly.

’They are so cute!’

She said in her mind.

"Hmm?" Ren stopped his footsteps and shifted his gaze to the trees behind them.

’Is it only my imagination?’

He felt like someone was following them.

"What’s wrong?" She was startled when he suddenly halted.

"Nothing." He continued walking.

"His instincts are sharp," Cassandra stated.

A moment later, Ren and Virelia arrived at the village.

When they were close to the entrance gate, they saw Elara and the others.

"Ren, Zara!"

"Are you guys alright?"

"What happened?"

They rushed toward the duo with worried expressions.

"Let’s return to the guest house first." In his eyes, it was not a good place to explain everything.

Lily and the others nodded.

Three minutes later, they arrived.

After they stepped into the living room, Ren carefully put Virelia down on the sofa.

Virelia immediately took out a health potion from her space ring and drank it. The moment the liquid passed down her throat, a warm and pleasant feeling spread through her body.

Even though she was still weak, her wounds healed at a speed visible to the naked eye. The cuts closed, and the bleeding stopped.

What she drank was a high-grade potion, so the effect was immediate.

Ren and the others were stunned by what they were seeing.

Previously, they had no idea how to heal her injuries quickly. Never did it cross their minds that the problem would be solved instantly like that.

"Why are you making such faces?" Virelia put the bottle on the table. "It’s a high-grade potion, so it’s natural that the effects work immediately."

Potions were divided into three grades: low, middle, and high.

Among the countless potions in the world, healing potions were one of the most expensive ones because they were like an extra life.

Virelia was from a wealthy family, so it was normal for her to have it.

"Sometimes, I really envy you." Ren was not lying when he said this.

"I don’t have high-grade ones anymore, but I still have a few low-grade ones." Virelia took out another health potion. "If you say, ’big sister, you are beautiful and kind,’ I will give you this potion."

The corner of Ren’s lips twitched.

’Rich people are really something!’

He had never expected her to use something expensive just to get him to praise her.

"Another health potion?!" David and Lily’s eyes sparkled as they looked at it.

They were poor like Ren, so they had never had any potion before.

The duo exchanged a glance with each other before finally saying in unison. fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com

"Big sister, please adopt us!" They suddenly changed the way they addressed her.

Virelia lifted her chin in satisfaction. "Say it again."

David and Lily repeated their words immediately. "Big sister, you are beautiful and kind. Please adopt us!"

"Since I’m a kind big sister, I will give you this potion." Virelia gave each of them a low-grade health potion.

David and Lily’s eyes shone brightly as they looked at the health potion in their hands.

Then, they shifted their gaze to Virelia and said, "Thank you, big sister!"

Virelia nodded happily before taking out another health potion from her space ring. "Elara, this is for you."

She didn’t ask Elara to praise her, as she knew Elara’s personality.

"Tha-thank you." Elara expressed her gratitude.

Virelia returned her attention to Ren and asked, "So, do you want this too?"

She played with the health potion as if she were showing off her wealth.

Ren smiled softly. "Just save it. You still need it."

"Hmf! You are not fun!" Virelia grabbed his hand and placed it into his palm.

"I really don’t need it." Ren tried to return it.

"Take this, or I will be mad at you." Virelia refused to take it back.

"Ren, take it!" David and Lily said.

"Thank you for the potion." Ren accepted it.

Virelia’s lips curled up into a soft smile.

Then, the group talked about the incident.

Of course, they already knew who the masterminds were.

None of the villagers could use magic or possessed any artifact to change their appearance, so they believed Axel and his lackeys were the ones behind it.

"Zara, your body is still frail. You should rest now." Ren said softly.

Virelia turned to Elara and said, "Elara, help me to my room."

"Alright." Elara nodded.

"Lily, David, you stay here and protect her. I want to meet the village head now," Ren lied to them.

"Un." David and Lily nodded.

Ren didn’t leave immediately; instead, he went to his room to change his clothes.

To his surprise, he saw Elara, David, and Lily standing by the wooden fence when he was in the front yard.

"We changed our minds."

"They dared to trap and injure Zara. We must teach them a lesson!"

"I...I also can’t forgive them!"

They knew that Ren was planning to go meet Axel and his lackeys.

Ren smiled softly. "You will still follow me even if I say no, right?"

"Yes!" Lily answered instantly.

"Alright. Let’s go together, then." Ren said.
