Chapter 2030: Chapter 2030: Beginning Repairs! It’s Just Too Difficult! Sea Vessel Incident!

"Buzz!"

After Ming explained it to Mu Jinyu, a multitude of peculiar yet profoundly mystical runes suddenly emerged in his mind.

Upon closer inspection, these runes exuded a sense of "artifacts."

Though they represented various different artifacts.

Mu Jinyu possessed a high comprehension; he grasped many things at a glance, but these runes, being among the oldest, were extremely obscure and incomprehensible. It took him an hour just to finally master them.

However, even though he had mastered them, Mu Jinyu feared that acting hastily might lead to errors in the repair of the God Slaying Cannon.

Therefore, he spent an additional fifteen minutes thoroughly mastering them before commencing the repair work on the God Slaying Cannon.

"Buzz!!"

Mu Jinyu carved in the void with his Human Attribute, quickly condensing a rune, then guided this rune into the God Slaying Cannon placed beside him.

"Boom!!"

As Mu Jinyu’s rune merged into the God Slaying Cannon, the cannon emitted a dazzling light.

In the void, numerous runes appeared.

These were the runes engraved within the God Slaying Cannon.

However, these runes were all very broken and blurry at the moment, with hardly a single complete rune to be found.

Among them was a rune, shining brightly and distinctly, containing terrifying energy.

This was the very rune Mu Jinyu had just condensed with his Human Attribute.

Now, the two runes were resonating and repairing with each other.

Very soon, the rune Mu Jinyu condensed was devoured by the corresponding rune within the God Slaying Cannon.

The original rune in the God Slaying Cannon then became almost completely intact.

Seeing this, Mu Jinyu replicated the action, again condensing an identical rune to merge with it.

Eventually, the runes became complete and flawless, with the intense light retracting back into the God Slaying Cannon.

Ming said, "Your strength is still lacking; these are just the most basic Foundation Building Runes, yet you need to do it twice. For the Attack Runes later, you’re probably going to need to condense them dozens of times!"

Indeed, the runes Mu Jinyu condensed twice were the most basic casting runes, used for foundation building to prevent the weapon from easily breaking.

Relatively speaking, these are easier to draw and do not consume much energy.

Mu Jinyu said helplessly, "There’s nothing I can do; this God Slaying Cannon, as you said, could threaten the Divine Race’s great powers second only to the Divine King when it’s intact. My mere Life and Death Realm cultivation is obviously not enough!"

"Sigh, just keep going, keep going..."

Ming also understood this rationale, and with a bit of irritation, shouted a few times, "In any case, the sea voyage is quite long, just take your time!"

With that, it fell silent.

Presumably, Ming was annoyed about being stuck with someone like Mu Jinyu!

Mu Jinyu chuckled wryly, not taking Ming’s complaint to heart, and continued calmly condensing the runes to repair the broken runes on the God Slaying Cannon.

Three days passed.

Mu Jinyu barely rested, continuously engraving runes, and finally managed to repair the most basic Foundation Building Runes on the God Slaying Cannon.

This made the God Slaying Cannon completely stable, so it wouldn’t truly become obsolete after just two or three uses.

Next, Mu Jinyu would engrave the Attack Runes and Amplification Runes on the God Slaying Cannon.

Once these runes were done, the power of the God Slaying Cannon would significantly increase.

But the engraving and repair of these runes were much more difficult than the Foundation Building Runes.

For the Foundation Building Runes, simple ones could be fixed by Mu Jinyu within two or three attempts, while harder ones might take about ten attempts.

However, these Attack Runes and Amplification Runes, even the simplest ones, would likely require five or six dozen repetitions from Mu Jinyu to repair successfully on the God Slaying Cannon.

For somewhat more difficult ones, it would probably require a hundred or more attempts!

And for the truly difficult ones, it might take several hundred tries.

Several hundred attempts may not seem like a lot; if he were fast in engraving runes, wouldn’t he manage within a dozen minutes?

But condensing these runes is far from as simple as basic runes!

For basic runes, he could condense one in a few seconds, so even if he needed to do it hundreds of times, it wouldn’t be much.

But these Attack and Amplification Runes are just too difficult to carve, taking at least five or six minutes to carve successfully.

And if not careful, there’s a possibility of failure.

Mu Jinyu would take nearly a whole day to repair one Attack Rune.

If he’s unlucky, it might take even longer.

If he encounters a difficult rune, it could take several days to repair just one.

This was also why a few days ago, Ming was somewhat frustrated and complained about Mu Jinyu’s slow progress.

The speed was indeed too slow.

If it were the Earth Emperor, they wouldn’t take even a minute to repair it.

There would be no need to dawdle cautiously!

"With the Foundation Building Runes done, there’s no longer much worry about the God Slaying Cannon breaking, but how did it end up like this in the first place? It’s puzzling..."

Mu Jinyu murmured.

When he first got the God Slaying Cannon, although it appeared very worn out on the outside, Mu Jinyu didn’t think much of it; after all, it’s a very old item, so looking a bit worn was normal.

But as he delved into its repairs, Mu Jinyu realized just how resilient the God Slaying Cannon was; it ended up in such a state yet hadn’t completely failed.

Ming said, "I guess there are basically no intact God Slaying Cannons left in the world now; they were likely all destroyed by the Divine Race’s great powers. The reason this God Slaying Cannon was preserved might be because when the Divine Race power tried to destroy it, some unforeseen circumstance prevented them from continuing or rendered them powerless to do so!"

"That is probably how this God Slaying Cannon managed to be preserved."

Ming speculated.

"Okay, I’ll rest for a bit, and then start repairing those Attack Runes!"

After hearing Ming’s words, Mu Jinyu also nodded in agreement, feeling that the situation was likely just as Ming described.

Perhaps back then when the Human Race first lost their power, the Divine Race couldn’t wait to attack and kill the Human Race and pursued to destroy the God Slaying Cannon.

And at that time, the Human Race still had great powers present.

It’s possible this God Slaying Cannon was ultimately preserved under the protection of those great powers of the Human Race.

And eventually, because of its severe damage, with many runes disappearing, it was not further pursued for destruction by the Divine Race!

"Alright!"

Upon hearing Mu Jinyu’s words, Ming did not press him to continue repairs immediately; after all, like cultivation, repair work requires a balance of work and rest!

One cannot remain constantly tense and on edge!

"Boom!!"

Suddenly, there was a fierce bombardment on the ship, causing the VIP room where Mu Jinyu was to tremble violently and many items to flip over!

"What’s going on?"

"Have we encountered danger?"

Mu Jinyu, who was just about to take a break, felt the intense vibration and rocking of the ship and his expression changed slightly before he immediately walked out of the room.

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to use Divine Sense to scout overseas to check what had happened in the Forbidden Dead Sea to their ship.

But in the Forbidden Dead Sea, besides being unable to fly, Divine Sense could not be extended beyond the ship, or it might be devoured by an unknown entity!

There’s also the risk of being eroded by an unknown entity, leading to falling into demon, and spiritual madness!
