Chapter 55: Hunter Path

[Yun Zhen - Dead]

Caelus dusted his hands, looking at where he would be. A few minutes passed as it drained all the guy’s Mana till he couldn’t regenerate. "Loyal to the end, even if it’s ugly when you go." He would be impressed by the loyalty, but hate that he would rather die than change.

Looking to the side, he watched the Domain dissipate as Tellus appeared right next to him.

"Where might the person you are fighting be?"

"Dead, I tried asking the guy to at least change his mind, but he didn’t. Turned him to dust like that giant explosion I did in the Undead Invasion."

Negotiation is impossible with those fully grown, or at least with Virtuoso, for the Yun Clan. They do not listen to anyone unless it’s their elder or a Dragon, but they wouldn’t believe you’re a Dragon."

"... I’m still wondering why both of them went after me when I’ve already killed one of theirs and almost killed another one of theirs. Feels kind of dumb."

"When you hold only the people from your Clan and Empire as the highest of the highest, with only a creature that can theoretically kill people at my level with their blood. You’d assume anyone who hates that creature would be worse." She looked to the side, noticing movement.

"Sad to see, all I can say is that I have nothing else to say which could contribute." Shrugging, he looked at her. Seeing she was looking somewhere, he turned to where she was and saw a person wearing little clothing, with long brown hair and darker skin.

"Hm? What are you doing here?" The man looked back at them, right at Virtuoso as he watched Caelus’s tail swing around. "Some kind of Training spot for you?"

"Ah- No, it wasn’t, I was just trying to relax with her, and the other two you might’ve seen came to kill me." Pausing, noticing his spear. "What might your name be?"

"The name is not your worry as of right now." His eyes half lidded, walking forward a few more steps as he looked at both Tellus and then Caelus. frёewebηovel.cѳm

"Who am I to judge?" Caelus shrugged; he wouldn’t push further, though he didn’t know if Tellus would.

"...I won’t ask it unless it’s something dire or important then." Tellus simply nodded at the man.

"Ah- How should we refer to you?" Caelus was still a little confused. "I don’t want to mark someone as spear guy at the equator."

"Hm, in that case, simply call me Svarog." Spinning his spear, he fidgeted it like it was a pencil and not a murder weapon.

"At least we’re meeting on good terms compared to the other two we had to fight." Sighing once.

Svarog looked to the side, tilting his head sideways. "Don’t see any bodies, so must’ve been destruction. Was it because of something involving an Empire’s feud or because you’re a Dragon?"

"The second one is how it started, though the Empire they’re in is now at War with the one she’s in." Caelus’s thumb, or what could resemble one, pointed directly at Tellus.

"I see, then I won’t interfere, though you left very little damage while fighting here. I’m impressed." Still calm, though smiling softly.

"Ah, I was just trying to make sure I didn’t do that since it causes damage to the ecosystem." Caelus sighed once, pausing right after as he took a moment to think.

"Wait, this isn’t even Earth; most of the species here might not be endangered or in any danger at the moment." Caelus’s tail swung side to side before smacking Tellus’s head.

Caelus turned his head right to the tail after it had done so. "...??? Why in the world did it do that?"

"Dragon tails are a mystery to every dragon, no matter how old you may be. From the looks of you..." free𝑤ebnovel.com

"Caelus is my name. Apologies for not introducing myself."

"Right, Caelus, from the looks of it, you may be of a fully grown Dragon, though in their humanoid form." Turning to Tellus. "Don’t blame him if something happens without his knowledge, as he wouldn’t be able to fix it either way."

"I have learned way before that I shouldn’t, but thanks for saying it once more." Crossing her arms, her gaze drifted to the side to see the other parts of this land.

"...To be untouched by human hands for hundreds of thousands of years." Looking back, she watched Tellus and Svarog speak. "Well, I guess I won’t disturb him getting another friend."

In a single moment, Tellus disappeared without leaving a word or notifying that she had left.

[Fifty minutes later]

"...Why did we go from Hunting Strategies to how something breathes?" Speaking to himself.

Svarog, blinking once, stared at him as he spoke. "There’s barely any correlation between those two. How did we get there?"

"I have no idea, but it was a fun conversation nonetheless. But I shall be going since I need to go eat."

Simply nodding, Caelus waited as Svarog turned away and left.

"Welp, nothing to do now other than talk to myself or train, oh this is going to be a pain." Falling back, Caelus began lying down on the ground, his tail moving to the side as it kept his lower body up. "...Oops."

Switching to his human body, he protected his skin and the rest of his body with Mana just in case, so he didn’t go from one color to another.

"No goal in mind of cultivation, other than to get back to Akemi." Exasperated, Caelus looked into the sky as it turned nighttime. "...Become strong enough that the Church can’t ignore me. And has to accept I’m a Dragon."

A better goal for this world, he thought. Though still incomplete for him. "And discover whatever Creation Artifacts are and who makes them."

Finally getting up once more, Caelus ran over to the Empire instead of Teleporting. "Running that fast is fun though, so I’ll continue doing it unless it’s a rush or Important."

Continuing to run, he passed the water, stepping on it for a split second before going off of it, reaching land, going past a few islands scattered around the ocean here. Finally stopping at the beach, Caelus jumped up onto the pathways. Feeling the dirt once more, the smell of grass is more potent than the moss from before. However, the trees here are smaller than those at the equator.

"That was fairly easy to get a goal for myself." Stepping forward, he realized he could finally get a home in the Empire. "Finally, a bed to sleep on instead of rocks." Heading into the lower district, Caelus stretched, pulling one of his arms as tiny popping noises came from that.

Not in much of a hurry because he had nothing else to do. And because of that, he was a lot more relaxed. If it wasn’t evident enough with how he was acting.

Finally, in the middle district, he continued walking, trying to see if anyone was there. Considering he could buy a home now, at the very least.

"Oh, you’re back!" The same lady as before, she approached, still with a caring smile.

"I was wandering around for a bit because I had nothing to do. What happened with the Rift, though?" Not wanting to reveal his own identity or even try to act like he was there just in case.

"Well, it seems Tellus and some other person, though I don’t know who, took care of it, but I can tell it caused them to become incredibly... Hm, I don’t know what to call it, I guess embarrassed? Well, that isn’t the point; the Rift closed, luckily. So I can finally help you with this!"

Listening to her speak, he blinked for a moment. "The creature which was with that Royal Guard? Oh, that’s a Dragon." He replied calmly. "I mean, he wasn’t even at soul formation and had a humanoid face, though. So I’d assume it’s a Dragon if they’re meant to be stronger than Wyverns."

She looked at him, confused as she tilted her head. "A Dragon? But aren’t those mindless?"

"I mean, have you seen one?" He replied.

"No, not really, I’ve only ever seen Wyverns, and they always seem to have a bad temper or be paranoid. And a few Drakes. Though never one in their human form."

"Ah, wait, okay, no, we’re getting off track. First, can I get a home before I continue talking about this?"

"Indeed, Apologies for that, I didn’t mean to go into that." Her cheeks were a little pink as she covered her face with her hand.

"Well, in such, it’ll take a bit of time and a lot of... Paperwork to do so, especially to confirm your identity and the place you were born, and everything similar to that, well, unless you’re from a place that collapsed or doesn’t exist anymore. Though a name will still be needed to verify your identity, you need to at least give a certain date for when you were born and how old you are."

"Well, at least being born in Russia has perks in other worlds, too. Like it not existing here." Caelus blinked, clearing his throat. "Well, for a start, I’ll give my name and how old I am." Stopping himself. "...Tellus, Sol, and the others know me as Caelus in my Draconic form; it would be incredibly suspicious to be Caelus here. But, what name...?"

Thinking for a few more seconds, Caelus finally landed on a name, albeit it was kind of lazy. "The name is Mikhail. As for my age, I’m twenty."

"Oh? Well, I guess a foreign name like that is expected. But, give me some time, I need to actually get the paperwork." A soft laugh. Turning away, she left, going right to the Church nearby.

Caelus stood, leaning against a wall, extremely bored and having nothing to do, so he’d only wait. "Okay, maybe this is boring. I should’ve just decorated the mountain."

Caelus looked around to see if anything was going on, though to his surprise, there wasn’t any sort of fight or people arguing. "...Why do I want people to fight? I mean, there’s no reason they should just so I can feel happy about it or something."

It wasn’t normal for him, so he’d try to stop thinking like that. "Probably all the cultivation and fighting I’ve been doing makes me want to do that."

"Oh yeah, I need another technique, I mean, I have one which does damage over some time, and that big range one and small scale ones."

"But nothing which is moderate damage... I guess it’s not really required, I can just tone down Burning Temptation for that so they don’t get as hurt by it."

Getting a little bored with waiting so long, he began walking through the streets almost aimlessly, just to see the surroundings, looking at each house and feeling the ground with his feet instead of his scales protecting his body. "...man, I’ve lost touch with them a lot, I should probably try and actually talk more instead of saying I am."

He was almost restless, like his mind wanted to keep running without any moment to stop him. Loud, yet at the same time quiet. Not quiet as in no thoughts, but silent as in there was no room for anything other than that.

"I should probably get back, she should almost be done with it if I saw that correctly." Looking to the side, he watched her leave the Church with papers in hand. Turning from where he was, he followed her, stopping behind her once she stopped. "Hey, I’m back here."

She turned quickly, jumping a little, though keeping her voice down. "Don’t scare me like that..." A little annoyed at what he did. "Also, here is everything, the paperwork, and how you can identify yourself."
