Chapter 606: He knew.

"This is perfect."

The Stormcaller Leader grinned as he watched the strike force gather.

It was already late afternoon, according to the information, Kael and his party would be here soon, so their hunting party was already in place, hidden in layers.

Shadowstalkers were hidden in cracks and snow caves, the Ironbloods were deeper behind the bend, Stormcallers were higher on ledges, Frostvein trap-men were near rope anchors.

The wind today was strong, the snow was falling, it was an ideal day for a hunt.

The Stormcallers were waiting.

And their wait wasn’t long because—

Bzz

Their Communication Artifact buzzed three times.

That was the signal from the scouts—both the scouts in the air and on the ground—that were positioned further along the route.

Kael and his party were here, and the information they received was correct. From this point onwards, it would take Kael and the others about fifteen minutes to get here, that was when they were supposed to move.

And that was exactly what happened—

In exactly fifteen minutes, the convoy arrived.

At first, it was only the sound of boots crunching, beasts breathing heavily, metal tapping against leather, soft murmurs of people walking in the cold.

The hunting party looked at the path below and they saw shapes moving through the mist.

A line.

A small group of people— frёeweɓηovel.coɱ

There were exactly fifty-three of them, just like the reports said.

The convoy came closer, the faces became clearer and with that—

They saw him.

The Flying Man.

Kael.

He was leading his party with a calm, almost careless look on his face, having no idea what was happening.

Or at least—

That was what the Stormcallers and the other members of the hunting party thought.

That made them all grin, they looked at Kael, gloated inwardly, the Stormcaller Leaders even laughed about how foolish those tribes were who thought this fool was a God.

But for now—

None of it mattered.

What mattered the most right now was getting this man’s head, once they did, they would have everything they wanted.

But just as it was about to happen, just as the Stormcallers and the entire hunting party they had brought thought they would get everything they wanted, just as Kael and his party were about to enter the death zone they had prepared for them—

Kael stopped.

Three steps away.

Behind him, the Cindersteps slowed.

The Stormcallers, hidden on the ledges, frowned in confusion.

Why did they stop?

They wondered in their heads.

But just then—

Kael looked at them.

Yes.

Right at them.

And as if he knew they were here, he grinned at them.

"!!!"

The Stormcaller Leaders widened their eyes in horror. They looked at each other, wanting to be sure if what they saw was true, but the moment they looked at each other and saw each other’s expressions, they realized it.

This wasn’t a hallucination or an Illusion.

It was real.

The Flying Man just looked at them.

Kael chuckled at their reaction.

’And the last two Shadowstalkers are in that left crack hidden beneath the snow with their knives ready.’

Inside his mind, Imperia was done telling him the location of every single member of this ’hunting party’.

Yes.

Kael knew.

Imperia’s Ants had covered this region 3 days ago, they knew every single thing here. Not just the location of the enemies, Kael knew where the bombs and other traps were planted—

Heck, he knew their entire plan because those fools discussed it out loud since they thought no one was here.

From the very beginning, this was... a fallacy.

The so-called Traitor they had gotten the ’reports’ from, it was none other than Ravon who Kael had captured and turned in the first few days he had been in the Heights. (Chapter 495)

Yes, this was a Hunt, that much was true.

But Kael wasn’t the one who was going to be hunted, he was the Hunter.

The hunter who knew every single thing he needed to know about the one hundred and twelve preys that were in front of him, not including the scouts these people had sent further away to give accurate reports.

As for the reports those scouts sent?

Well...

They were correct... mostly.

The scouts just missed one thing.

A small little detail. freewēbnoveℓ.com

For now, however, that detail did not matter. What mattered was that Kael was no longer moving, instead, he simply raised his hand and the Cindersteps behind him stopped.

They were already informed of everything that was happening, so none of the Cindersteps were surprised.

The Stormcallers’ side however, was completely different.

They stared at Kael with confused looks on their faces.

What was he doing?

Did he know they were here?

Did he know about the hunt all this while?

How?

Were they tricked?

Were they... betrayed...?

Or... did he just... know because he was a God?

All those questions overwhelmed their heads and Kael—

He moved one step to the right, his boot landed on stone instead of snow, avoiding a patch of snow that looked normal but Imperia had already told him a Bomb was planted there.

Kael just smiled and his foot moved past the bomb without triggering it and that made a Shadowstalker blink in disbelief.

He was the one who planted that bomb and the reason he planted it near the stone was because the moment people saw the stone, they usually stepped on the snow right beside it.

But...

For the Flying Man to step on the stone instead...

Was that a coincidence?

He wondered inwardly and the very next second, he got the answer to his question because now—

Kael was looking right at him.

"What...?"

The Shadowstalker froze.

Kael chuckled and he didn’t stop, he was here to make a statement, so that was what he was going to do.

So one by one, he looked.

Towards the bend where the Ironbloods hid, the rope anchors where the Frostvein men were, the cracks where the Shadowstalkers were, the ledges where the Stormcallers hid.

He looked at every single one of them with absolute accuracy, the hidden men felt like their very skin was being peeled off.

If they had any doubts before—

Now, it was obvious.

He knew.
