Chapter 92: Chapter 92: Deciphering Cain (Part 2)
This message was far more shocking to Bai Wu than being mistaken by Cain.
"Evil Fallen’s ability?"
Wu Jiu began to recount the details of the battle with Cain.
First was the setting, an eerie black-and-white hue, then the Garrison Corps that entered it started to lose their minds.
Next, Wu Jiu felt as if a lot of force had been removed from his slashing.
Finally, Cain turned into a giant.
Bai Wu almost instantly thought of several Mutation Entries.
Block, Super Gigantification.
"How is this possible? Even Reincarnation, an imba ability... has been blocked by the High Tower, so why can someone use other abilities of Evil Fallen?"
Perhaps the abilities of Mutation Entries correspond with Talent Sequences, but there is no empirical proof.
At least for Super Gigantification and Reincarnation, Bai Wu had not found any corresponding Talent Sequences. Even if the earlier Sequences did not explain, their names did not seem alike.
Wu Jiu said:
"Perhaps the difference is not in the Mutation Entries or Talent Sequences, but in the user. The High Tower blocks the Evil Fallen, but if the powers of Evil Fallen stem from mankind, maybe the Tower’s rules will default. What we need to clarify now is why Cain can use the abilities of Evil Fallen."
Although neither of them was one hundred percent certain that these were the abilities of Evil Fallen, the feeling that one only gets in the presence of top-tier Evil Fallen was something Wu Jiu believed could not be mistaken.
Bai Wu closed his eyes and pondered for a few seconds, then suddenly opened them:
"Captain, what did Cain say to you during your battle?"
"He was a chatterbox, non-stop, like a madman."
Just recalling Cain’s madness made Wu Jiu subconsciously furrow his brows.
Suddenly, Bai Wu sensed something amiss.
"That’s not right..."
Initially, Bai Wu felt Cain was similar to his own father, something like a lesser version of a pervert.
Imitating his father’s manner of speaking had been able to tame Elijah.
And from the previous notes left by Cain, it appeared that Dandelion was a very composed person.
How could he be talking like a madman, incessant and incessant.
It was just too unusual.
"Captain, can you imitate how Cain spoke?"
Wu Jiu was caught off guard by the question.
To him, Cain seemed like an insanely excited lunatic, crazed, hysterical.
Wu Jiu himself was not an actor, especially not one with a temperament opposite to Cain’s.
How could he perform that?
"This... I can’t do it."
Bai Wu seriously said:
"Although my ability to compute and spatial reasoning allows me to simulate various scenarios, I still think that having a draft to work off would greatly improve the accuracy." ƒгeewёbnovel.com
"Speak in human language."
"To put it simply, to profile what kind of person Cain is, I need you, Captain, to imitate him. It’s very important. Try to make it as accurate as possible... um, not missing a single sentence."
Wu Jiu’s face turned pale; to imitate the insanity, to make those deranged expressions and emit those strange laughs was a hundred times harder than killing Cain himself.
But looking at Bai Wu’s earnest face, Wu Jiu still rolled his eyes up, twitched the corners of his mouth, and exaggeratedly said:
"Ahahahaha, fantastic! You’re fantastic! You’ve filled me with surprise, I look forward to the day you become an Evil Fallen, I will definitely show you the darkness of the High Tower, and make you willingly become an Evil Fallen!"
"Hahahahaha..."
Bai Wu couldn’t help it and burst out laughing.
Wu Jiu immediately gave Bai Wu a stern glance.
Bai Wu also instantly composed himself and said,
"Please continue, Captain."
"What are you laughing at?" Wu Jiu’s eyes were sharp as knives.
"Nothing, Captain. I’ve undergone professional training and absolutely would not laugh. Please continue, Captain, I’m about to finish my profiling."
Wu Jiu took a deep breath and closed the doors and windows of the hospital ward. Then, he started to perform the next part according to his understanding.
The hospital ward was filled with a lively atmosphere. Bai Wu’s laughter could be heard from time to time, only to be interrupted by the sound of drawing swords.
In the end, Wu Jiu gritted his teeth and said,
"You’d better have some clues! And about today, you’re not allowed to speak a word of it!"
Bai Wu nodded. He did have some clues, but the good times were too short. Watching someone as serious as Dwarf try to mimic Cain, Bai Wu found it incredibly hilarious.
All these injuries were worth it.
"Ahem. Alright, Captain, rest assured, I’m very tight-lipped. And indeed, I’ve got some clues." ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom
"Spit it out!"
"Cain’s true personality shouldn’t be like this. He’s got his eyes on us, to be precise, he thinks that what he’s targeting is an entity with my mind and the Captain’s combat strength. To deal with us, he must prepare plenty of fallback plans."
"So what?"
"Don’t rush, Captain, listen to me slowly."
"Among the people I’ve met before, I’ve seen a few with split personalities. Cain might not have this trait, but he is a master of performance. In a certain sense, just like Cain said, he and I are very similar."
In the Captain’s performance and those words, Bai Wu even sensed a hint of Prayle’s Eye style.
Of course, he wouldn’t admit that his own personality was that despicable, but some things aren’t any less real just because they’re denied.
If there wasn’t some sort of madness ingrained in him, why would his father have let him go all those years ago?
Perhaps it was out of defiance towards his father that Bai Wu forced himself to establish a moral compass close to that of a normal society’s sense of justice.
But indeed, because of his twisted father, he had something in him that could ignore all rules and be mad.
Watching the Captain perform these, Bai Wu felt a strong sense of déjà vu.
Cain’s words that we were originally the same kind of people stirred him even more.
But he wasn’t that kind of person. He was going to defeat Cain in his own way:
"This man is good at lying, but the biggest difference between lies and the truth is that lies are highly goal-oriented. What is Cain’s goal? If there really is something on the sixth floor of the High Tower that could shatter our beliefs, then why doesn’t he just tell us outright?"
"Keep going."
"I don’t know his true purpose, but the fact that Cain is alone and weak suggests that he likely doesn’t care about power because, in his eyes, perhaps the rulers of the fifth floor don’t have a firm grip on their power either. What he cares about should be absolute power."
Bai Wu paused, then continued,
"So we can do some subtraction. Cain can gain power through lying, but there must be a key condition in between."
"What condition?"
"With the limited clues, the biggest breakthrough lies in a word that Cain gave—’willingly.’"
Wu Jiu still looked puzzled, and Bai Wu said,
"Why does Cain want the Captain to become Evil Fallen willingly? And those disciples before us, they too became Evil Fallen willingly. Why didn’t he just force Miss Yan to leave the tower?"
Bai Wu was about to make a gesture like Ke Lan pushing up his glasses but realized he couldn’t move, so he just furrowed his eyebrows:
"There’s only one truth, ’willingly’ is a key condition for Cain to obtain the power of Evil Fallen!"
