Chapter 70: Chapter 70: The Plane Explodes

High Tower, third floor, Mingyu Estate.

Ming Che looked at Ding Tai Sheng in astonishment and repeated what he had just said:

"That string of codes hasn’t expired? They really went to the purple zone?"

"There’s no mistake, I can assure you."

Just ten minutes prior, Ding Tai Sheng was equally astonished by the news and he quickly reported to Ming Che.

Nearly twenty minutes had passed since Wu Jiu and the others headed outside the tower.

Ding Tai Sheng and Ming Che both understood what that meant.

However, Ming Che had more doubts. Why would Yan Jiu’s paintings contain a string of codes for the purple zone?

And why hadn’t these codes expired? What secrets was Yan Jiu hiding that were related to the purple zone?

And the purple zone... Even that dwarf wasn’t confident in guaranteeing absolute survival, right? ƒгeewebnovёl.com

Ding Tai Sheng said:

"This might be a good thing. If he dies in there, our Garrison Corps will have one less formidable enemy to worry about."

Ming Che could only agree with that statement to some extent.

Wu Jiu was annoying and had embarrassed the Garrison Corps several times.

But he was not the greatest threat to the Garrison Corps’s heart because Wu Jiu was constrained by his character and incapable of underhanded deeds.

If Wu Jiu were to die just like that, and die still being the top combatant of both armies, it would mean that the High Tower had lost an irreplaceable powerful entity.

"This person won’t die so easily. Have someone watch closely at all times; contact me immediately if there’s any news from the lower levels."

"I understand."

The Garrison Corps knew about the investigation in the purple zone, and so did the investigation army.

Ming Che had a bad feeling that if Liu Mu’s group found out that Wu Jiu was dead... it would likely lead to chaos.

And if Wu Jiu wasn’t dead... and he and Bai Wu really found Yan Jiu in the purple zone,

the secrets Yan Jiu was hiding would probably cause quite a stir as well.

...

...

Outside the tower, the death flight.

Bai Wu spoke at an extremely fast pace, summarizing his findings in twelve seconds.

The plane was about to explode, the Return Roulette couldn’t be used, the entire scene was overrun by the Evil Fallen, and they were in a region of spatiotemporal turbulence. Jumping out of the plane might offer a 10% chance of survival, but there was a 90% chance of falling into an even more dangerous area.

Wu Jiu was decisive and said:

"Then we jump!"

Thirty seconds.

Wu Jiu waved Evil Fallen Must Die, and at this moment, he displayed a strength far surpassing what Bai Wu had seen in the Ninth Hospital.

About to step into tier three, he only saw numerous afterimages madly slicing away.

And the sound of the blade contacting the window’s edge was exceedingly twisted.

Bai Wu thought about it and realized that the Dwarf was right.

Even if going to a more dangerous area, even if there was a high chance of falling from thirty thousand feet in the sky and shattering into pieces, it was still better than dying in an explosion.

But this thought only lasted a few seconds before it shattered.

Twenty seconds.

Bai Wu was horrified to find that all of the Dwarf’s slashes couldn’t break through the plane...

A sudden realization hit him:

"Damn it, this is a zone, and the environment of a zone scene can’t be destroyed."

The reminder indicated that the window was the only way out, but the entire plane was one piece; unless it exploded on its own, external forces were unlikely to break it open.

At least the hundreds of Evil Fallen, over the course of seven hundred years, had tried many times and they couldn’t leave.

Prayle’s Eye suggested that this was a way to escape, but the premise was—having the power to dissolve the rules.

Obviously, as part of the scene itself, especially a scene in the purple zone, the plane was extremely difficult to destroy.

Fifteen seconds.

Bai Wu said, "The hatch! Though the scene can’t be destroyed, something that could already be opened might offer a way to escape!"

Without hesitation, Wu Jiu became a streak of light. His entire body, dragging the blade, left a silver trail as he flashed past instantly.

It was the first time Bai Wu felt those mysterious "intentions."

Behind Wu Jiu, he could sense a terrifying intent to slice.

All he needed to do was to follow the trajectory of Wu Jiu’s blade. There was no need to worry about the second and third-level Evil Fallen in this cabin.

This man was different from the others. While others faced the Evil Fallen like Dark Souls, he faced them like Dynasty Warriors.

Seven seconds.

"The hatch is locked."

Wu Jiu frowned as violent strikes couldn’t break the lock, and he wasn’t sure if there was enough time to unlock it.

The numbers on Wu Jiu’s watch read twenty-nine.

Fear was present in his heart, yet he remained rational.

The situation indeed hung by a thread, and Bai Wu admired the number on Dwarf’s watch.

The scent of emotions attracted more Evil Fallen from other cabins, which Wu Jiu no longer had time to deal with.

His hands moved so fast they were almost invisible, but eventually, he abruptly stopped.

The lock outside the hatch was open, but there was still one inside. It could only be activated from the cockpit.

Wu Jiu’s mouth moved as if he wanted to say something, and so did Bai Wu, but it was too late.

The plane—exploded.

A terrifying force capable of destroying all Evil Fallen and the entire scene swept through everything in an instant! The wave of fire, like Taotie, devoured the whole scene.

As death descended, Bai Wu’s watch, which had never fluctuated, moved ever so slightly before returning to its original point.

And in the last moment, Prayle’s Eye sent a message in a style that seemed unrepentant—

[BooooooooooM!!!]

...

...

After intense burning, Bai Wu felt his consciousness blur.

His mind was blank for a long time before the blankness gradually dissipated. Slowly, his consciousness began to piece together some odd information.

[Restart?]

[Continue the bond?]

[Setting.]

[Quit the game?]

Seeing this familiar dialogue box style, Bai Wu knew his eyes were playing tricks on him again.

Sure enough, the next second, when he looked into the surrounding blankness, Prayle’s Eye provided feedback:

[Alright, humorless guy, you don’t have that many choices. Life isn’t a game, and with six minutes to the next explosion, you’d better hurry to find a way and locate the Doomsday Fragment. Although you have countless opportunities to search slowly, your companions might not last as long. The explosion won’t take their lives, but it will bring something else.]

Bai Wu suddenly opened his eyes.

He found himself in a rather elaborately decorated room, but he could tell at a glance from the ugly monster in the flight attendant uniform that this was on that horrible flight.

"I’m not dead..."

Combining the previous messages, Bai Wu understood that the explosion was predestined, not caused by him!

"Is this a looping scenario? Luckily, my memories haven’t been erased."

As before, the nearest Evil Fallen to Bai Wu sensed something.

But this Evil Fallen wasn’t a second or third level mutation. Bai Wu also quickly noticed the unfriendly gaze.

[His first love was named Bai Jie, his ex-wife named Wang Jing worked as a flight attendant for the same airline this plane belonged to, he had a brother named Hou Longtao, a distant relative named Bin, and an old doorman from his workplace with the surname Qin. Upon learning there was a bomb on the plane, he finally burst with resentment and turned into a Level Five Evil Fallen. Perfect Mutation Entry: Terrifying Green Light.]

In such a crisis, Bai Wu had no time for sympathy for this Evil Fallen. He quickly analyzed the situation:

"My position has changed... this time it’s first class... Could it be that each explosion starts differently?"
