Chapter 329: Chapter 315: Is Doctor Wen Colorblind?

There were even puddles on the floor. The water was filthy and gave off a foul odor.

But of course, the stench couldn’t travel through the screen to the audience, so they remained oblivious.

Wen Ying, however, was being assaulted by the stench.

She thought about enduring it, but the stench... It was an assault on the very soul!

Frowning, Wen Ying pulled a face mask from her pocket and put it on.

[Damn, Doctor Wen is so prepared! That pocket must be the legendary treasure chest!]

After about ten steps, Wen Ying saw the mental hospital’s cafeteria. It was quite large.

It was an open-plan cafeteria, filled with tables and stools.

From Wen Ying’s vantage point, the cafeteria was about half-full of people—or things that weren’t people.

Every one of them was hunched over a plate, which held some sort of pitch-black, unidentifiable substance.

They reached out, grabbing it with their hands and putting it into their mouths.

Standing off to the side, Wen Ying could hear them chewing.

Wen Ying walked over to the person serving the food—a cafeteria worker of indeterminate gender!

"Is there anything else to eat?"

"Look for yourself!" an impatient voice snapped, without even glancing at Wen Ying.

Wen Ying looked toward the service window. Jeez. To call this pig slop would be an insult to pig slop.

’This is the food they serve at the mental hospital?’

Wen Ying held out her hands, put on a pair of gloves, and then... SNAP!

"Hey! What is all this stuff? Is it even edible?"

Seeing this human who clearly had a death wish, the androgynous cafeteria worker’s face went cold. "Eat it or don’t! If you haven’t eaten in ten minutes, you’ll share his fate!"

She looked over to where the worker—be it an old man or an old woman—was gesturing.

A person, their head detached from their body, was sitting at a solitary table.

The body was seated on the stool, but the head was on the table. The meal, plate and all, was jammed into the gash where the person’s neck was severed. Even from a distance, Wen Ying had to suppress the urge to vomit.

The head rolled back and forth on the table, its mouth crying out, "My food, my food, my food."

Meanwhile, the other... things in the cafeteria kept their eyes glued to their own plates, continuing to eat as if they couldn’t see or hear a thing.

Seeing the color drain from Wen Ying’s face, the cafeteria worker, holding a ridiculously large ladle and a basin, scooped up a helping of the slop and plopped it into a bowl the size of a human head.

"You must be new! Here’s your meal. No leftovers, okay~?"

The smile was sickening. Wen Ying looked at the bowl of food and asked again,

"Is this stuff even edible?"

BANG!

A tremendous noise!

It echoed throughout the cafeteria, and everyone who heard it couldn’t help but tremble!

But the creatures didn’t look up. After a brief pause, they went back to eating with their heads down as if nothing had happened.

"Finish that right now. If you dare to leave even a single scrap, I will twist your head off."

The menacing voice, combined with that disgustingly fat face, was indeed meant to be terrifying and intimidating.

But Wen Ying just kept grinning. "So, you’ve eaten this before? Why don’t you finish this bowl, then, and make me something new? I’d like some sweet and sour ribs, sweet and sour fish, sweet and sour pork tenderloin, and some spicy prawns. That’s all."

The instant Wen Ying finished speaking, the cafeteria worker began to mutate!

Wen Ying clapped a hand over her mouth, her face a mask of utter disbelief. Her lips trembled as she stammered, "Y-y-you... you’re actually a... a cockroach! That is so disgusting!"

Seeing Wen Ying’s expression, the cockroach monster was very satisfied!

’Scared, are we?’

’Trembling, are we?’

’But it’s no use!’

’I’m going to twist your head off regardless, and from now on, I’ll use it as a serving bowl!’

Of course, Wen Ying was unaware of its thoughts. If she had been, she’d have been genuinely surprised. ’My head has so many uses around here?’

Still, reveling in its victory, savoring this human’s fear, was the most wonderful feeling in the world.

’A cockroach? Disgusting?’

’This human isn’t scared, she’s just... disgusted?’

This human actually called him disgusting!!!

He changed his mind!

He would twist her head off last. First, he would cut out her tongue as an offering to the Head Nurse. Then, he’d flay her skin to make a cushion, and chop off her hands and feet to use as fertilizer for the flowers.

He wanted this human to bleed out, drop by drop, in a state of fear, pain, and utter despair!

"Don’t you know how disgusting you are? How can you possibly hold this job! Did you hide your true nature from the person in charge? Don’t you know that a disgusting creature like a cockroach is the one thing that absolutely, under no circumstances, is allowed in a kitchen?!! I’m going to file a complaint! I’m going to report you! You’re trying to murder everyone in this family!"
