Chapter 268: Chapter 266: Good Luck Harvester
But none of that was important!
The real question was the same as before: how did such large items fit into that bag?
And once they were in, how did the bag still look completely empty?
This strange Magic was like a needle stuck in his heart—if he couldn’t pull it out, the discomfort would never go away.
Wen Ying placed the fruits into the canvas bag one by one, then slung the bag over her shoulder.
In this setting, such a scene should have looked bizarre, but on Wen Ying, it was inexplicably harmonious.
The cameraman didn’t say a word, simply following and filming every moment.
He had a sneaking suspicion that by following Doctor Wen today, he might just film the next viral sensation!
This spurred him to be even more diligent.
However, the path they were on seemed to be veering off course, into an area the production team hadn’t scouted.
"Banana trees. I knew there’d be bananas here."
Wen Ying announced.
The cameraman stared, his mouth agape. "Doctor Wen, you’re saying you knew there were banana trees here? Our production team never saw any when we scouted this area."
"Just a guess."
Wen Ying’s hands never stopped moving as she spoke. She picked a couple of bunches, stuffed them into her canvas bag, and then tossed two bananas to the cameraman.
Though stunned, the cameraman reacted quickly and caught them. "Thanks, Doctor Wen."
Wen Ying just smiled without replying and went back to picking bananas.
[That canvas bag is so small. She already put so many fruits in there, and now she’s added, what, four bunches of bananas?]
[You’d think it’s a canvas bag, but anyone watching would swear it has its own pocket dimension.]
[I just want to know, what’s the actual capacity of Doctor Wen’s bag?]
The cameraman, mid-bite, nearly choked on his banana as he watched the scene unfold.
Thankfully, Wen Ying quickly realized she was putting a bit too much in. If she kept going, there would be no plausible way to explain it.
"This canvas bag of mine really is great, and the space is quite large. You should all learn some home organization and folding techniques. I think it’s even become a profession now, right? Professional organizers? What we do is basically the same thing, just different methods to achieve the same result."
[Is this the first time Doctor Wen has ever offered an explanation for anything?]
[It’s like Doctor Wen guessed what we were thinking. Is this her trying to cover it up, only to make it more obvious?]
[Doctor Wen must be so proud. This generation of viewers has finally matured! We’re learning to analyze Doctor Wen’s motives!]
[SO THERE IS DEFINITELY SOMETHING UP WITH THAT BAG, RIGHT!!!]
With his mouth full of banana, the cameraman shouldered his equipment and followed Doctor Wen.
Doctor Wen took out the clue Song Jiayan had drawn and looked at it again. The clue only described a general area, indicating that the production team had hidden supplies somewhere within its bounds.
"Looks like we’ve gone too far. No matter, let’s head back."
The cameraman had a theory, but he kept it to himself. ’Doctor Wen probably came this way on purpose to receive nature’s gifts.’ ’After all, if she found the supplies too easily, people would get suspicious.’ ’Doing it this way, getting ’lost’ before turning back, looks much more natural.’
But the cameraman didn’t realize that the viewers at home understood Doctor Wen far better than he did.
They knew she never did anything without a reason, so her trip over here had to be for a purpose.
But was that purpose really just for some fruit and bananas?
It seemed that even the most mysterious figures had to bow to the needs of the stomach.
After all, you get awfully hungry if you miss even one meal.
This time, as Doctor Wen headed back, her movements were swift and her direction clear.
The cameraman soon spotted a familiar sight: the location where the supplies were hidden.
Doctor Wen set her canvas bag on the ground. She stood still for a moment, then looked at a large tree to the side. "Your production team seems to love hiding things up high, don’t they? There’s so little cover up there that anyone who comes by will spot it. The only problem is getting it down. Why not hide the supplies underground? Or did Director Wen see the trending topics and realize everyone loves my Qinggong performance, so he changed the original hiding spot?"
The cameraman was internally reeling, but he kept a smile on his face. "How could we possibly know what the director is thinking? But you are right about one thing, Doctor Wen. The supplies were originally buried in the ground. The director later told us to figure out a way to hang them in the tree."
The cameraman chuckled sheepishly. Because of that order, they’d needed to get several expert tree climbers to work together just to get it done.
’I didn’t understand why before,’ he thought, ’but hearing Doctor Wen’s explanation, it’s clear now. The director is a genius!’
Just as the cameraman was speaking, the live audience once again witnessed Doctor Wen’s unparalleled Qinggong through the lens.
Previously, Doctor Wen would use the trunk of a tree to kick off and launch herself upwards.
This time, however, her method was brutally simple.
She didn’t use anything for leverage. Instead, her body suddenly—
The live audience watched as Doctor Wen merely lifted the tips of her toes, and her entire body just... flew toward the sky?
One had to use the word "flew," because no other word could better describe what they were witnessing.
As she neared a branch, Doctor Wen didn’t even reach out to grab it for stability as she had before. With her hands free, she landed squarely on it with both feet, perfectly balanced.
This maneuver stunned not only the crew and the live audience but also...
Wen Ying reached out, retrieved the bag hanging from the branch, and then floated lightly down from the tree.
The cameraman’s heart was in his throat. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ
He wanted to shout a warning, but no sound came out. By the time he could even think to, he saw Doctor Wen standing perfectly steady on the ground, holding the bag of supplies.
She looked as serene as a calm sky, while he, in contrast, felt like the one who had just narrowly escaped a fatal fall.
His heart was pounding out of his chest.
And he was just an observer!
’When it comes to Doctor Wen,’ he thought, ’you really have to throw common sense out the window.’
The cameraman felt it was a lock: today’s top trending topic was already decided.
’No doubt about it. The show’s KPIs for the day were already met.’
Doctor Wen opened the bag to take a look. This time, there was meat!
Even though it was pre-packaged, in this environment, it was practically a luxurious feast!
Vacuum-sealed beef and vacuum-sealed jumbo shrimp.
Three apples, two bunches of grapes, a bundle of dried noodles, two instant noodle cups, and a packet of salt.
There was also a small bottle of sesame oil.
Two packs of crackers, a bag of pork jerky, and three packs of spicy strips.
Three milk cartons.
Wen Ying looked at the haul, then at the cameraman. "Has Director Wen gotten this generous? Is our survival show turning into a vacation show?"
"Doctor Wen, the thing is... the directors only prepared one supply drop like this, and they never expected you to be the one to get it. The other one is going to be much, much smaller..."
At this point, everyone understood.
So, in the end, it was all down to luck.
It’s just that other people’s luck seemed to have no effect where Doctor Wen was concerned.
You could call her a good luck harvester, couldn’t you?
