Chapter 58: Dungeon Break
The days went by quicker than Reiji expected and it had now been over a week since the two female officers visited his home.
During this time, Vel’s cat training had reached 70%, which was still much better than the previous 14%.
Hina had also called Reiji and told him the reason she wasn’t able to call was because her phone had fallen into the toilet, so she had to get a new one.
As for the Xcoins Reiji gained during the week, they were all spent on Lottery Spins.
It ended the same as last time except this time he got an F-Rank Broken Bow which was completely useless to him and also a D-Rank palm skill called Rupture, which was the only useful thing he gotten since.
And throughout the week, Reiji had been eager to try out his new skill.
"Vel, remember what I taught you... Wait here, close the window after I leave and look after the house. I’ll be back in a bit."
’Understood, Your Majesty. This humble servant and house cat shall guard the house vigilantly.’
Reiji put on the hoodie he had bought from the System Market. It was an oversized hoodie that looked very comfortable to wear.
He also put on a nose mask he got from the System Market.
He opened the window.
"Dungeon, here I come..."
He leapt out of the window in one swift motion.
The night wind roared in ear.
[Shadow Step.]
Just as one of his feet was about to touch the ground, his figure vanished.
Reiji’s figure appeared near the crepe shop which was still open.
"One quick stop."
Ever since that night stroll, Reiji had been coming here every night to buy crepes.
Though it had only been a week since then, Reiji had already bought more than fifty crepes and had become the woman’s regular night customer.
"Seven crepes, aunty," Reiji said in a high-pitched voice.
"What is the occasion, Miss Hina?" the shop owner said with a smile as she handed Reiji the crepes.
"Just a little celebration."
"Oh? Let me guess."
The woman narrowed her eyes playfully.
"You finally confessed to the girl you like?" ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom
Reiji nearly choked.
"N-No."
"Hmm..."
The woman hummed thoughtfully.
"Then maybe your girlfriend finally proposed?"
"..."
Reiji stared at her.
The shop owner laughed.
"Haha! I’m kidding. Whatever it is, you seem happier than usual." freewebnøvel.com
In a world without men, relationships between women had become extremely common.
In fact, society openly encouraged it.
So the shop owner naturally assumed Reiji was talking about another woman.
Reiji awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck.
"Something like that."
"Well, congratulations then."
The woman smiled warmly.
"And don’t forget us when you become rich someday, Miss Hina."
Reiji accepted the bag of crepes.
"I’ll keep that in mind."
"That’s what all my customers say."
The woman waved him off.
"Now go enjoy your celebration."
"Thanks, aunty."
Reiji paid, took the crepes, and quickly left before the conversation could continue.
He took a bite of the crepe, and after walking for a bit to a place where nobody was around, he used his skill.
[Shadow Step.]
Reiji had already planned his night raid.
Three E-Rank Gates had opened near Plush City not long ago.
But because the Gates were rich in monster cores, the government had decided not to close them.
Reiji decided to check them out.
There were also several newly spawned F-Rank Gates that had appeared yesterday.
Reiji planned to clear those as well, along with two D-Rank Gates.
Reiji took a big bite of the crepe, finishing it.
"I need all the energy I can get."
He dusted his hands and walked toward the light blue glowing portal ahead.
Several military vans had barricaded the area while military personnel guarded and patrolled the Gate.
"Just how many cores does this dungeon produce?"
Reiji thought quietly as his figure disappeared once again.
As soon as Reiji entered the Gate, the portal that had been glowing light blue suddenly turned blue.
"What the hell?"
One of the analysts inside a military van hurriedly moved her fingers across the keyboard.
She was surprised to see the readings of the F-Rank Gate change so suddenly.
Even the operators and analysts inside the nearby vans were taken aback.
The F-Rank Gate, which had been completely normal just moments ago, had suddenly morphed into an E-Rank Gate.
It had remained stable ever since it first spawned.
What could have caused it to change?
The analysts quickly began brainstorming possible explanations.
None of them had detected any external interference.
"Call the captain quickly."
One of the analysts stood up.
"There’s only one possible explanation."
Her expression became serious.
"A Dungeon Break is coming."

Ding!
[Dungeon Gate (E)] - {Stable}
"..."
Reiji stared at the system notification in confusion.
"Isn’t it supposed to be an F-Rank Gate? Or did it suddenly morph when he entered?"
Reiji thought sarcastically to himself. The same thing had happened when he first visited a Gate.
Reiji eyed the system suspiciously.
Ding!
[Host does not need to worry. If it was the system doing it, I would be above S-Rank to train your sorry ass up. Or does Host wish for the Gate to....]
"I didn’t say it was you, and no thank you."
[Coward (눈‸눈)]
"Excuse me? That’s not cowardice, you dumbass system."
Reiji stopped himself from continuing because he knew no words would convince this stupid system that was trying to kill him under the pretense of making him stronger.
Reiji stared at the dungeon he was in.
It was pretty much the same as the first one he had raided.
But this one had more light.
The red crystals overhead were more numerous than the ones in the previous dungeon.
"Is this the core?" Reiji thought to himself.
He didn’t understand why they were called cores because to him they just looked like fancy red glowing crystals.
So what the hell was their use that they were in such high demand for?
It was already giving him a headache, so Reiji just continued walking and didn’t even glance at the red glowing crystals.
To him, these things were still useless.
Also, another reason was because he didn’t know what their use was. He thought it was just a rare crystal that only appeared in this dungeon, that’s why he came.
He never thought it was just these fancy red crystals. He didn’t even bother checking their information using the system.
So if they were just glowing red crystals, why all the strong security?
Reiji thought this had to be more than what it looked like.
RUMBLE!
The ground suddenly rumbled, as if a herd of horses were coming.
Reiji frowned.
His skill Detect Presence activated automatically, and Reiji saw many faint auras approaching.
"A Dungeon Break?"
