Chapter 5: Yuki
’What the hell is she doing here?’
The thought ran through Hina’s mind. The person she saw through the peephole was obviously a girl – a young girl probably sixteen or seventeen.
She gave off a lively, energetic aura.
Compared to her age, her figure was already well-developed. The loose black T-shirt and tight pants she wore gave off a casual, carefree look, though it did little to hide her feminine charm. Her chest pressed lightly against the fabric, giving her an unexpectedly mature presence.
She wore a baseball cap, her dark eyes fixed on the door as she idly swayed the lollipop in her mouth.
Hina sighed inwardly but she was also incredibly happy to see her sister and without noticeming, a small smile played at her lips.
Hina opened the door and was about to say something when the girl instantly threw her self forward, wrapping her arms around her.
Hina was clearly caught off guard by the sudden hug she received from this clingy little sister of hers, who seemed to have grown a little taller than her.
"Onee-chan!! I missed you." Yuki said still holding Hina tightly afraid she might slip away like always.
Hina could only pat her sister back muttering something to herself.
"Hey, Onee-chan? Why are you still staying in this dummy’s house? Didn’t he die or something?" In her mind it was because of that dummy his sister didn’t have time to spend with her. And she was happy that Reiji had also vanished like the other men, so her sister would have enough time to spend with her.

Hina expression twisted slightly but she quickly masked it with a soft smile. "Yuki... did you run away from home again?"
"Noo, I ran away from camp and went home. Mom was busy crying her eyes out because dad’s ashes disappeared, poof. So... I used the distraction and tracked you down using her phone." Yuki said causally, before adding in a hurt tone. "Onee-chan why did you block my number?"
Upstairs, Reiji could faintly hear their conversation. At first, he was surprised Yuki had managed to find this place.
But what she said next made his stomach drop. "...Not even ashes?" He muttered to himself. "So when they said ’vanished without a trace’... they really meant it."
Downstairs, Hina was also stunned, it sounded very bizarre but the way Yuki had just spoken so casually about it, she knew she wasn’t lying. Different thoughts began to form in her head.
’Maybe it’s because of the virus... Rei-kun didn’t die when I killed him. Accidentally.’ Hina thought. ’But wy didn’t he vanish like other men’
Before she her thoughts could spiral further, Yuki shook her back to reality. "Onee-chan!"
Hina blinked confused as she stared at Yuki.
"Onee-chan, something is burning"
It took Hina half a second to process what Yuki said. "Nonono!!" Hina yelped as she darted towards the kitchen in a frenzy.
She quickly turned off the stove, but the food was still burnt. "Nooo."
"It’s not that bad, onee-chan." Yuki said trying to comfort her sister. They were now seated in the living room.
Hina’s expression was gloomy, how could she be so clumsy and forget about the food she was making, now it was a ruined mess.
Seeing her sister like this, Yuki decided to take a bite. When it entered her mouth her eyes lit u instantly.
"So good"
Even with the burnt taste,it was still delicious, her sister’s cooking was still top-notch. freeweɓnovel.cøm
Hina forced out a smile but her eyes briefly drifted towards the stairs.
Upstairs Reiji was lying on the bed, his stomach growling every now and then.
"I’m so hungry..." He muttered. This morning he had done the exercised, burning through all the strength he had, so it was only normally he was so hungry. "How long does she plan on staying here?"
Even Hina thought the same thing as she stared at her sister who was done eating.
"Thank you for the meal" Yuki said as she set don her chopsticks.
"Hey Onee-chan, do you want to go out? There’s a new shopping mall that just opened downtown. And their clothes looks really cute..."
Yuki as energetic as ever spoke up, before Hina could get a word out, she stood up and grab Hina hands heading towards the door.
"Hey what’s the hurry, you just got here and you are already dragging me to going out?" Hina said trying to talk sense into Yuki’s head "Won’t we at least freshen up first?"
Realizing this Yuki immediately let go and bowed apologetically. "Sorry, sorry."
Hina gave a tired sigh and removed her apron. Then she walked upstairs. She paused briefly and looked back then spoke in a calm but commanding tone. "Stay here. And behave."
"I’m not a kid, you know!" Yuki replied with a angry pout.
Hina ignored her and continued upstairs. She entered the bedroom and locked the door.
She saw Reiji on the bed muttering to himself how hungry he was. Reiji immediately sat up as soon as he saw Hina.
"Hina-chan... I’m starving."
Without thinking, he rested his head on her lap as she sat beside him. Reiji didn’t know if it was the hunger or something else.
Hina gently stroked his hair and spoke in a calm sweet tone. "I’m sorry Rei-kun, you know how Yuki is always poking her head into things and if she saw you, you know how bad it will be," she said softly. "After I freshen up and take her out, you can come downstairs and eat. I saved some for you... but I accidentally burnt it." Hina said the last part a little awkwardly.
"I don’t mind," Reiji said. "You made it afterall, so it’ll still be good."
Hina’s face turned slightly pink.

Reiji barely reacted. He was too hungry to care.
"Have you eaten?" he asked.
Hina’s heart melted. ’Despite being hungry, he still asked if I have eaten. That why he’s my Rei, I love him so much.’
"I’ve eaten a little," she said softly. "And I’ll eat more when we go out, so don’t worry about me."

"Okay."
Downstairs, Yuki glanced toward the stairs after chatting on her phone. "Why is she taking so long...?"
Her imagination began to run wild.
"Don’t tell me she’s trying to escape through the window..." She narrowed her eyes.
"Or... is she drowning?"
Without hesitation she rushed upstairs.
