Chapter 94: Chapter 94: Master is a Beauty (Part 2)
Su Yonghuang eyed Li Qiye suspiciously, but she didn’’t quite believe his words.
"I know why the previous Sect Leader and the Supreme Elder chose you," Li Qiye said slowly. "A descendant of Mingren Immortal Emperor is, of course, qualified to be the Sect Leader of the Xiyan Ancient Sect."
"How do you know that?!" Su Yonghuang’s expression changed drastically. The Tianya Su Family—that was just a name her family called itself. What the world didn’t know was that the Tianya Su Family were the descendants of Mingren Immortal Emperor!
"The Founder told me in a dream," Li Qiye said with a smile.
Su Yonghuang shook her head. ’Of course, she didn’t believe such a story. Being told something in a dream was simply too preposterous. But if the Founder hadn’t told him, then how could this fourteen-year-old boy possibly know?’
"The Tianya Su Family..." Li Qiye finally let out a sigh. ’Such a distant memory.’ Though he had always known the Tianya Su Family was well, he had never been back since that time.
The Tianya Su Family was a topic that even he, the Yin Ya, was reluctant to discuss. This was because the affair had nearly caused a rift between him and Mingren Immortal Emperor.
Mingren Immortal Emperor had started as a boy with nothing, eventually shouldering the Celestial Mandate to become an Immortal Emperor. It was by no means an easy journey. In addition to his own efforts and Li Qiye’s guidance, it would not have been possible without the help of his many friends and sworn brothers.
In those days, there was a female general by Mingren Immortal Emperor’s side. She had followed him for a very long time. One could even say that before he became an Immortal Emperor, wherever he went, she was there.
This woman came from an illustrious noble family, but Li Qiye, as the Yin Ya, recognized her talent. He expended a great deal of effort to ensure she remained by Mingren Immortal Emperor’s side.
Li Qiye’s efforts were not in vain. The woman remained by Mingren’s side like a pillar of support, constantly assisting him. With her talents, she recruited many capable individuals to his cause. After he shouldered the Celestial Mandate and became the Immortal Emperor, she even went so far as to review imperial edicts from across the land on his behalf!
In Li Qiye’s opinion, she was the most suitable candidate for Empress. For over a hundred years, she had served diligently by Mingren’s side. Her contributions to him becoming an Immortal Emperor were indelible. And what was even more precious, she had always loved him.
For this very reason, Li Qiye, in his role as the Yin Ya and Mingren’s mentor, had always hoped that Mingren would marry her and make her his Empress.
Disastrously, however, Mingren Immortal Emperor fell in love with another woman—a woman whom Li Qiye, as the Yin Ya, had once summed up in a single phrase: "So naive she’s a moron!"
That wasn’t even the worst part. For an Immortal Emperor, having a few wives and concubines was nothing. Li Qiye could have easily arranged several excellent wives for him.
The worst part was that this moronically naive woman didn’t even like Mingren Immortal Emperor. And the absolute, rock-bottom worst part of it all? She was in love with one of his greatest rivals—arguably his strongest opponent from his youth!
But Mingren Immortal Emperor was hopelessly devoted to this simple-minded woman. If there was one thing in Mingren’s entire life that didn’t earn Li Qiye’s praise, it was this single affair that drove him, as the Yin Ya, absolutely mad. Back when Mingren was still a young man, Li Qiye had cursed him as a blockhead more than once. Sometimes, he even wanted to crack his skull open and erase the woman from his memory entirely!
But no matter how much Li Qiye, as the Yin Ya, berated him, the young Mingren remained infatuated with that naive girl. There was nothing Li Qiye could do; his hands were tied.
Later, Mingren shouldered the Celestial Mandate and became the Immortal Emperor, but he refused to marry. Li Qiye, of course, knew why. However, this wasn’t an outcome Li Qiye wanted, especially since after Mingren shouldered the Mandate, his own state as the Yin Ya had become unstable. He could fall into a deep slumber at any moment.
At the time, he didn’t know how long he would be asleep, so before his slumber, he decided to do one thing: ensure Mingren Immortal Emperor left behind a descendant.
And of course, the best candidate for this was Lady Su. Li Qiye expended a great deal of effort and finally lured Mingren Immortal Emperor into his trap. Naturally, even as an Immortal Emperor, Mingren could never have imagined that his own mentor would set him up.
While Mingren Immortal Emperor’s spirit was on a Divine Travel to the most dangerous reaches of the Nine Realms, Li Qiye had his physical body share a bed with the Su Woman. In the end, the insemination was a success.
By the time Mingren Immortal Emperor fought his way back from that perilous place, what was done was done.
After this incident, Mingren Immortal Emperor and the Yin Ya, Li Qiye, nearly had a complete falling out. The sound of their shouting shook the Celestial Universe. Mingren was enraged, and Li Qiye flew into a rage of his own. Their terrifying auras swept across the Nine Heavens and Ten Lands, and under the Immortal Emperor’s wrath, every living being trembled in fear.
Of course, no one dared to ask what had happened. In short, it was a cataclysmic event.
Mingren Immortal Emperor’s reaction left the Su Woman utterly disheartened. In the end, she left him. Regarding this, Li Qiye, as the Yin Ya, had always felt he had wronged her. It was he who had single-handedly brought her to Mingren’s side. Despite the strong opposition from her noble family, she had ultimately chosen to align herself with Mingren.
One must remember, at the time, Mingren was still a boy with nothing to his name, while the Su Woman was not only of peerless beauty and from a prominent noble family, but more importantly, she herself was exceptionally gifted, with a wisdom as vast as the ocean.
At the time, her family was naturally unwilling to let her assist the penniless young Mingren.
Li Qiye, as the Yin Ya, had spent an unimaginable amount of effort on this matter, and in the end, the Su Woman had agreed to stay. But because of this decision, she was alienated from her friends and family.
Li Qiye had always held the Su Woman in high regard. If the Mingren Kid were to become an Immortal Emperor, she was the best choice for Empress. The damned problem was that the Mingren Kid’s blockhead went haywire, and he fell head over heels for that simple-minded woman.
After this incident, Li Qiye, as the Yin Ya, was wracked with guilt. The Su Woman had sacrificed so much, only to leave in sorrow.
As the Yin Ya, he knew he did not have much time before his next slumber. So, he used the most lavish resources and the most incredible means to build a haven for the Su Woman. This place eventually came to be known as the "Tianya Su Family."
But Li Qiye knew the meaning behind the name she chose. "Tianya" meant the ends of the earth; no matter how far, her love for Mingren Immortal Emperor would never change.
It was a pity that fate played such a cruel joke. Despite everything, at the Tianya Su Family, the Su Woman still raised Mingren Immortal Emperor’s son to adulthood, allowing his lineage to flourish.
In later ages, the world only knew that Mingren Immortal Emperor had never married and had no offspring. No one knew that his bloodline had, in fact, been passed down. Besides the successive heirs of the Su Family, only Li Qiye, who had lived through it all, knew this secret.
"What’s wrong?" Just as Li Qiye was lost in distant memories, Su Yonghuang, sitting across from him, called out, snapping him back to the present.
Li Qiye snapped out of it. He looked at Su Yonghuang, then at Tu Buyu, and said, "I’m clear on your origins now. Junior Brother Tu couldn’t possibly be your disciple, right? As I see it, he isn’t from the Su Family, even though you’ve cultivated the War God Technique!"
The War God Technique was a Supreme Technique cultivated by Mingren Immortal Emperor. However, he never passed it down. It was Li Qiye, as the Yin Ya, who had the Su Woman pass the technique on.
The War God Technique came from the War God Hall. Although Li Qiye, as the Yin Ya, had taught it to Mingren, in principle, Mingren was not allowed to pass it on. However, Li Qiye made an exception for the Su Woman, allowing her to teach the War God Technique to Mingren Immortal Emperor’s son.
And so, the War God Technique became the legacy cultivation technique of the Tianya Su Family.
Tu Buyu gave an awkward laugh. "To answer you, Senior Brother, I am a disciple of the Xiyan Ancient Sect. I always have been. It’s just that my situation is a little special. After joining the sect, I rarely stayed within its grounds and spent my time wandering abroad. As for the War God Technique, I only began cultivating it later."
"You’ve been searching for the Su Family all this time," Li Qiye said, staring at Tu Buyu.
Tu Buyu laughed awkwardly again and had no choice but to tell the truth. "I was under orders from the sect to search for the Founder’s descendants. Our Xiyan Ancient Sect has fallen into decline, but a Supreme Elder found clues in the sect’s records that led him to believe the Founder still had descendants in this world. When I joined the Xiyan Ancient Sect, I was chosen for this task. I’ve been wandering ever since, searching for the Founder’s descendants, or perhaps hoping to bring back the Founder’s Emperor Techniques. That’s why Elder Gu and the others don’t know me very well. They only know that I’m a disciple of the Xiyan Ancient Sect."
"The Tianya Su Family has no Emperor Techniques," Li Qiye said, shaking his head.
Tu Buyu sighed softly. "The Su Family is magnanimous. After learning of the Xiyan Ancient Sect’s plight, they allowed the Sect Leader to take her post. I was also granted an exception and taught the War God Technique. At the time, my own cultivation technique was limiting me, and my cultivation had hit a bottleneck. So, I destroyed my old Dao Foundation and started over from the beginning."
Hearing this, Li Qiye couldn’t help but give Tu Buyu a second look. ’He’s lived for so long; his Dao Foundation must have been incredibly profound. Yet he was willing to destroy it all and start over. What determination! That requires immense courage.’
Finally, Li Qiye looked at Su Yonghuang and said, "You are the heir of the Tianya Su Family!"
"How do you know?" Su Yonghuang was shaken that Li Qiye had stated her identity so plainly. ’The Su Family has many disciples and branch families, but only the designated heir can take charge of the Su Family in the future!’
"The Daytime Celestial Body," Li Qiye said. "Only the heir of the Su Family can cultivate the Immortal Technique of the Daytime Celestial Body."
