Chapter 68: Chapter 68: Violet Sun 10 Days Merit (Part 2)

Chapter 68: Purple Sun Ten Days Technique (Part 2)

"We could try to verify it," Elder Wu, the youngest of the Six Great Elders, said at this time. "Let Qiye cultivate another Emperor’s Ultimate Technique and see if he can call upon the person from his dreams. If he can then write out another Core Emperor Technique from memory, it will be proof enough that he is being taught in his dreams."

"That method is feasible," Elder Qian agreed. "If that’s the case, then what Qiye said is likely the truth."

This claim was simply too absurd. Not just the Elders, but even the Guardians found it hard to believe. However, within this absurdity, the Elders and Guardians of the Xiyan Ancient Sect had caught a glimmer of hope!

The Xiyan Ancient Sect was currently in decline, with major sects eyeing it like tigers. The weakening Ancient Sect was like a fattened sheep in a wolf pack! Right now, the Elders and Guardians of the Xiyan Ancient Sect needed a miracle—a miracle to revitalize their sect. If the spirit of their founder, Mingren Immortal Emperor, was still protecting the Xiyan Ancient Sect, perhaps he really would bestow teachings upon a disciple through their dreams.

At this, even Cao Xiong paused for a moment. Finally, he said in a deep voice, "If he’s willing to verify it, then I have no objection!"

"Are you willing?" Gu Tieshou looked at Li Qiye and asked gravely. As the Chief Elder, he had weathered countless storms and knew full well how preposterous and absurd this claim was. Yet, burdened with the great responsibility of the Xiyan Ancient Sect, he too secretly yearned for such a miracle. ’The founder teaching through a dream!’

"Elder, a clear conscience fears no accusation. I am not afraid, no matter how the Elders choose to test me." Li Qiye’s words were firm and resounding, winning him the goodwill of the other Elders and Guardians.

Next came the matter of selecting a Cultivation Technique. The Elders exchanged glances, and finally, Elder Qian said, "In my opinion, let’s choose the Purple Mist Technique. In that regard, only Junior Brother Sun has researched it the most."

The current Xiyan Ancient Sect had a pitifully small number of Emperor Techniques. The only complete Core Emperor Technique was the Kunpeng Six Transformations, which was also the strongest Emperor Technique in the Xiyan Ancient Sect’s legacy. Besides the complete Kunpeng Six Transformations, there were two other remaining Core Emperor Techniques. However, both were severely incomplete. Of the two, the Purple Sun Ten Days Technique was in slightly better condition.

Even so, the Elders of the Xiyan Ancient Sect didn’t dare to casually attempt cultivating the two Emperor Techniques. They were so terribly incomplete that a single mistake could cause a Misfire, risking their entire lifetime of Cultivation. Thus, the Elders had turned to cultivating Great Sage Techniques instead.

The Cultivation Technique Elder Sun had started with was the Purple Mist Technique, so this technique was very important to him. He had always wanted to cultivate the incomplete Purple Sun Ten Days Technique, and to that end, he had deeply researched and comprehended the fragmented scrolls of this Emperor Technique. Ultimately, however, he discovered that it was too incomplete to be cultivated. He had been forced to give it up and switch to a Great Sage Technique.

Now, to test Li Qiye, they had to choose one of the two incomplete Emperor Techniques. Since Elder Sun had researched the Purple Sun Ten Days Technique the most, the Elders, after some discussion, unanimously decided to have Li Qiye cultivate the Purple Mist Technique.

Once the decision was made, Li Qiye returned to Solitary Peak. This time, the Six Great Elders personally took up watch on the peak to guard him. Both the Six Great Elders and the other Guardians treated this matter with the utmost importance!

Cao Xiong was bent on killing Li Qiye. His two disciples had died tragically at Li Qiye’s hands, and this unsettled score left him unable to eat or sleep in peace. However, this matter was no longer his to decide. More importantly, Cao Xiong now had a different plan. ’So,’ he thought, ’avenging my disciples can wait.’

With the Six Great Elders’ agreement, they gave the Secret Manuals for the Purple Mist Technique to Li Qiye. During this time, Li Qiye was forbidden from leaving Solitary Peak; he could only focus on his Cultivation of the Purple Mist Technique.

The Purple Mist Technique, an Emperor’s Ultimate Technique, was merely a small part of the Purple Sun Ten Days Technique. This technique was an Emperor Technique created by Mingren Immortal Emperor. Although its power could not compare to the Kunpeng Six Transformations, as a Core Emperor Technique, the Purple Sun Ten Days Technique was still incomparably mighty.

Li Qiye understood the prototype of the Purple Sun Ten Days Technique better than anyone. Back when it was first being conceptualized, Li Qiye, as the Yin Ya, had led Mingren Immortal Emperor into a perilous land to witness the rising and setting of ten suns and the evolution of the Great Dao. Only after this did Mingren Immortal Emperor create this Cultivation Technique.

Throughout the process, Li Qiye, transformed into the Yin Ya, gave Mingren Immortal Emperor a great deal of advice and even helped him perfect the Cultivation Technique on several occasions.

Although the memories of this Cultivation Technique had been wiped when he later fell into a deep slumber, as he now carefully studied and comprehended the Purple Mist Technique, the memories associated with it—all of its Mystical Meanings—surfaced in his mind once more. The erased memories were returning.

Li Qiye had recovered his memories of the Purple Sun Ten Days Technique, but he was in no hurry to inform the Elders of the Xiyan Ancient Sect. Day after day passed, leaving the Elders to fret anxiously.

Days turned into weeks, and weeks into months. By this point, never mind the others, even the Elders’ conviction began to waver.

The Elders yearned for a miracle. Although the whole affair sounded absurd, they genuinely longed for it to be true, hoping the Xiyan Ancient Sect could receive its founder’s blessing.

"If you ask me, this vile spawn is just a con artist!" Cao Xiong said coldly, once again fanning the flames.

In response to Cao Xiong’s instigation, Elder Sun countered, "Senior Brother Cao, aren’t you a bit too impatient? To jump to such a conclusion before the end... It seems you won’t be at ease until Qiye is dead."

"Junior Brother Sun, what are you implying? I am dedicated to protecting the Xiyan Ancient Sect..." Cao Xiong’s expression turned cold as he spoke in a low, dangerous voice.

"Enough! Stop arguing. It won’t hurt to wait a while longer," Great Elder Gu Tieshou cut in, his voice cold.

Finally, after three months, Li Qiye came running out of his small courtyard, shouting excitedly, "I’ve got it! I’ve got it! I’ve got it!"

"Really?" At his words, the Six Great Elders rushed in at once, casting aside their status. Even Cao Xiong couldn’t suppress his impulsive reaction.

Li Qiye handed the transcribed Cultivation Technique to the Great Elder. "Elder," he said, "this is the technique the old gentleman in my dreams taught me. I’m not sure if it’s the Purple Sun Ten Days Technique you were talking about."

The Great Elder’s hands trembled with excitement as he took the Heart Technique. In truth, it wasn’t just Great Elder Gu Tieshou who was excited; the other Elders were stirred as well. Cao Xiong was also excited, though his excitement stemmed from a different purpose.

In the end, the Six Great Elders personally presided over the verification, carefully comparing the Heart Technique Li Qiye had written from memory against the fragmented scrolls of the Purple Sun Ten Days Technique in the Xiyan Ancient Sect’s possession.

"It’s real... It’s really it! The complete Purple Sun Ten Days Technique!" After the comparison, Elder Sun was overcome with excitement. He had once dreamed of cultivating this technique but had never succeeded. He never imagined he would have the chance to see the complete Purple Sun Ten Days Technique in his lifetime!

"This isn’t just the complete Heart Technique; it also explains many of its Mystical Meanings! I believe that, apart from being taught by the founder in a dream, it would be impossible for an ordinary disciple to reach such a level of comprehension! Even a heaven-sent prodigy, given the complete Heart Technique, couldn’t grasp such profound principles!" Elder Sun concluded, his voice trembling with excitement.

The other Elders were at once excited, thrilled, and utterly shocked. For them, this whole event felt like a dream—absurd and unbelievable!

"The Azure Heaven has eyes! It has taken pity on our Xiyan Ancient Sect! The founder’s spirit is still with us; he is unwilling to see our Ancient Sect perish, and so he has finally revealed himself," one Elder exclaimed, choked with emotion.

At this point, no explanation seemed more plausible than being taught through a dream!

Cao Xiong’s gaze flickered. Of all the Elders, he was the one who least believed in such an absurd tale. ’But what if it’s real?’ The thought gave him pause, and his mind began to race with possibilities.

Eventually, the Elders summoned Li Qiye again. Seeing him sitting there so calmly, they all felt an indescribable emotion. ’Could the founder have truly chosen this ordinary disciple with a Mortal Body, Mortal Wheel, and Mortal Fate? Otherwise, too many things just don’t add up.’

At that moment, it occurred to Elder Sun and the others: ’Perhaps the profound principles of the Biluo Heart Method weren’t something Li Qiye comprehended on his own, either. Maybe the founder taught those to him as well.’

Whether that was true or not was no longer important to Elder Sun and the others. They had witnessed a miracle. Perhaps Li Qiye would become the key to the Xiyan Ancient Sect’s revival!

"After the Elders’ deliberation, we have decided to believe your claim about being taught in a dream," Great Elder Gu Tieshou finally announced in a grave voice. "Therefore, you are not considered to have stolen the Kunpeng Six Transformations. Furthermore, the Elders have decided that you may cultivate the Purple Sun Ten Days Technique."

To Gu Tieshou, who had lived for over a thousand years, this all felt like a fantasy. But things had come to this, and he had no choice but to believe it. He also found himself hoping that it was all true.

Li Qiye said with a grin, "I heard the Elders say that the sect’s Secret Manuals for the Purple Sun Ten Days Technique were extremely incomplete. Since I have recovered the complete version today, shouldn’t that be considered a great merit?"

Li Qiye’s sudden demand for credit caught the six Elders completely off guard. They couldn’t help but exchange bewildered glances.

"It can indeed be considered a great merit." In the end, Great Elder Gu Tieshou had to concede. For the Xiyan Ancient Sect, recovering a Core Emperor Technique was truly a monumental achievement.

"In that case, I’d like to make a request," Li Qiye said with a grin.

The Elders glanced at one another before the Great Elder finally nodded. "You may make one request. As long as it is within the sect’s power to do so, we will grant it."

"My request is simple. I’ve heard that Nan Huairun and Guardian Mo cultivate the Purple Mist Technique. Since I have performed a great service, I request that the sect permit them to cultivate the Purple Sun Ten Days Technique!" Li Qiye stated slowly.
