Chapter 50: Chapter 50: The Most Brutal Teaching (Part 2)

Chapter 50: The Most Vicious Instruction (Part 2)

Having studied these Cultivation Techniques and their associated Techniques, no one in the world understood or had mastered them better than he!

Xu Pei endured over twenty strikes from Li Qiye’s staff. In the end, she couldn’t take it anymore and collapsed to the ground, unable to get back up. Only then did Li Qiye let her be.

"Next," Li Qiye said with a grin, casually pointing to another disciple.

THWACK—THWACK—THWACK—The other disciples were next to suffer. One by one, Li Qiye beat them until they were lying on the ground, unable to get back up.

Awakened by Xu Pei’s words, the other disciples paid close attention to Li Qiye’s every strike as he brutally beat them. Even those on the receiving end of the blows made sure to memorize each attack.

Now, they all wanted to know the flaws in every one of their techniques. Some wanted to patch up these weaknesses to avoid such a miserable beating from Li Qiye, while others hoped to use this opportunity to identify their shortcomings and elevate their own abilities...

Although Xu Pei’s words had awakened everyone, not every disciple could perceive the flaws in each technique. Even if they could, and even if they were consciously aware of the weaknesses in their own techniques, they weren’t necessarily able to correct them.

The other disciples weren’t as lucky as Xu Pei. Li Qiye simply gave them a brutal beating without offering any guidance.

Eventually, Li Qiye had knocked every disciple to the ground. The air was filled with their wails. He gave them a detached glance and said with a grin, "That’s all for today’s lesson. I’m giving you a three-day break. Think things over carefully, so you won’t be stupid enough to make the same mistakes next time." With that, he turned and walked away.

「The three-day break passed in the blink of an eye.」

Li Qiye appeared once more on the training grounds of Washing Stone Valley. He swept his gaze over the three hundred disciples and said leisurely, "Today’s lesson remains the same. You’re still getting a beating."

At these words, the expressions of many disciples changed. To be honest, most of them had been terrified by Li Qiye’s beatings. The taste of the Snake-Beating Staff was not a pleasant one; the pain was absolute torture.

Li Qiye looked at the three hundred disciples before him and said with a grin, "Are you going to step up yourselves, or do I have to come to you?"

"I will face First Brother first." As soon as Li Qiye finished speaking, the first to step forward was, surprisingly, Luo Fenghua. It wasn’t the first time Luo Fenghua had led the charge, but this time was completely different.

Luo Fenghua was quite talented; among the three hundred disciples, he was arguably one of the best. His Dao Practice was profound, and he was known for his pride and arrogance.

When Li Qiye first arrived, Luo Fenghua had completely refused his authority. In fact, even after a brutal beating with the Snake-Beating Staff, he remained defiant in both heart and words. It wasn’t until Li Qiye sent him flying with a single kick—a kick that broke several of his bones—that he was finally jolted awake.

Although Luo Fenghua was proud and arrogant, he wasn’t mindlessly ignorant. That one kick from Li Qiye had broken several of his bones. The sheer power behind it made Luo Fenghua realize just how terrifying Li Qiye was!

It was then that Luo Fenghua finally realized Li Qiye wasn’t the useless trash the rumors made him out to be.

This was especially true after Xu Pei’s words had awakened them. The disciples began to seriously study every strike from Li Qiye’s Snake-Beating Staff. Her words were a wake-up call. Although the beatings were excruciating, many disciples spent the next three days carefully reflecting on each blow. Their gains were significant, and quite a few managed to identify the flaws in their own techniques.

The fact that these flaws were discovered through pain made the lessons all the more profound.

Luo Fenghua’s aptitude was already high. After Xu Pei’s wake-up call, his insights over the past three days benefited him immensely. He suddenly understood the harsh kindness behind Li Qiye’s methods. Unconsciously, his attitude toward Li Qiye had changed dramatically.

Li Qiye grinned at Luo Fenghua and said slowly, "You might be a bit arrogant, but at least you’re not ignorant to the point of being stupid."

This time, the proud Luo Fenghua couldn’t help but blush. He lowered his head and said, "Please guide me, First Brother!" He was completely sincere.

Li Qiye didn’t waste any words. "Make your move," he said leisurely, drawing his Snake-Beating Staff.

"Forgive my offense—" Luo Fenghua bellowed. The moment he spoke, he attacked with his full strength. With a long cry, a tide of brilliant light surged forth. His body moved like a falcon, his momentum like a Flood Dragon. In every motion, he was flanked by the phantoms of a dragon and a tiger.

THWACK—Luo Fenghua had barely initiated his technique when the Snake-Beating Staff struck him square in the face. The blow made him see stars. His nose was instantly bruised and swollen, and tears welled up in his eyes.

Li Qiye’s attack was utterly merciless. A single strike left Luo Fenghua completely disoriented. After landing the blow, Li Qiye stated flatly, "In a real battle, life and death are decided in a flash. It’s either you or your enemy. Every single move should be a killing blow. Combat isn’t a performance. The most beautiful-looking techniques are useless if they’re all for show!"

"The Dragon-Fighting Eagle, a technique from the Flying Dragon Hand, is pure offense. It has no overly complex variations; it’s a killing move, meant to be direct." Li Qiye viciously struck Luo Fenghua again. "But you tried to be clever and added your own variation. This extra flourish might look profound, but it’s entirely superfluous. You’ve only weakened the technique’s killing power!"

Luo Fenghua was a quick study. The moment Li Qiye finished speaking, he immediately changed his technique. His attack became grand and powerful, his moves direct and brutally simple, like the hewing of an axe!

"This variation is better. But remember, what is too rigid is easily broken. Ferocity must be tempered." Even as he spoke, his staff didn’t stop. He mercilessly cracked it across Luo Fenghua’s face, leaving it bruised and swollen.

THWACK—THWACK—THWACK—In the blink of an eye, Li Qiye had struck Luo Fenghua over a dozen times. In moments, Li Qiye had knocked him to the ground. The blows from the Snake-Beating Staff left him unable to rise.

As the Snake-Beating Staff viciously struck his body, Luo Fenghua couldn’t help but howl in pain. Even so, he felt a sense of joy in his heart. This brutal beating was not for nothing; his gains were immense.

Having mercilessly felled Luo Fenghua, Li Qiye turned to the other disciples. "Next."

THWACK—An older disciple finally stepped forward after Luo Fenghua. However, he had just begun his first move when Li Qiye’s staff cracked across his legs, forcing him to his knees.

"Too slow..." Without so much as a blink, Li Qiye swung his staff viciously again. The terrified disciple hastily rolled aside to dodge the blow.

WHAP—WHAP—WHAP—In a matter of moments, Li Qiye had beaten the disciple until his face was bruised and swollen. He only managed to endure a dozen or so strikes from the Snake-Beating Staff. However, those blows weren’t in vain; Li Qiye pointed out the shortcomings in his techniques one by one.

It took half a day for Li Qiye to brutally beat all three hundred disciples. This session took longer than any before because this time, no matter who was being beaten, he pointed out the specific inadequacies in their techniques and variations.

Li Qiye showed no mercy to anyone. He beat every single disciple until they were lying on the ground, unable to rise. For a time, the wails of the three hundred disciples were incessant, the pain unbearable. Yet despite the agony, for many of them, the rewards were immense. Their beatings were not in vain!

For the next several days, Li Qiye gave the three hundred disciples their daily brutal beating. By now, not a single disciple complained. Some were even happy to be beaten. Although Li Qiye was merciless and the pain from the Snake-Beating Staff was agonizing, the rewards were so enormous that any amount of suffering was worth it.

Li Qiye’s teaching method left a deep impression on the three hundred disciples. Under his vicious beatings, it was difficult for them *not* to remember their own weaknesses. Lessons paid for in pain are always the most memorable.

Though Li Qiye’s teaching methods were crude and brutal, every disciple benefited immensely. This was especially true for their understanding of technique variations. In just a few short days, they had grasped the true Profound Mystery behind them. The mistakes they had made during their Cultivation were beaten out of them and corrected.

In just a few short days, the progress of many disciples was remarkable. This was particularly true for talented disciples like Luo Fenghua, whose improvement was astounding. Under Li Qiye’s corrections, Luo Fenghua comprehended the true essence of his Cultivation Technique. As a result, after only a few days, the variations in his techniques were seamless and executed to perfection.

Li Qiye taught using the most crude and brutal methods imaginable. Yet, the disciples of Washing Stone Valley now had zero complaints. Even the stronger disciples like Luo Fenghua, who had once looked down on him the most, were now completely subservient.

Although Li Qiye’s teaching method was brutal, the content of his lessons was substantive and genuine. Every disciple benefited immensely.

Given such a responsible, one-on-one teaching method, the disciples had no reason to complain about Li Qiye.

The previous instructor of Washing Stone Peak, Master Zhou, had rarely beaten or scolded his disciples. However, Master Zhou would teach everyone all at once. His lessons were short, and he would simply lecture on the incantations and variations of the Cultivation Techniques like he was force-feeding a duck. Whether or not the disciples actually learned anything was their own problem.

Among the three hundred disciples, each had different talents and aptitudes. Even when practicing the same Cultivation Technique and the same Techniques, their results varied. Because of this, deviations would often appear in their Cultivation. In the most ridiculous cases, some disciples ended up going in the complete opposite direction of the technique’s intent!

Now, Li Qiye’s one-on-one guidance corrected every disciple’s personal flaws. This gave each of them a clear direction for their Cultivation and a much deeper understanding of the Profound Mystery behind technique variations.

Thus, in just a few short days, many disciples had not only found the path regarding technique variations, but had even begun to master them. This filled many of them with joy. A few days of Li Qiye’s instruction had surpassed a year—or even two or three—of their own fumbling efforts!
