Chapter 187: Chapter 186: Old Ghost (Part 2)

A person has only one True Destiny, one Life Wheel, and one Life Palace. It’s impossible for someone to possess two True Destinies. Having two True Destinies would mean having two lives, two souls—an impossibility.

The same was true for one’s physique! A person could not possess two physiques—at least, not in principle. Of course, for Li Qiye, principles were made to be broken.

As the Life Wheel turned, Blood Qi flowed. The physique residing in his chest was wreathed in Laws. An unknown amount of time passed before a series of CLANKING sounds rang out. Strands of ordered Law, like Divine Chains, instantly interwove to form a suit of armor that covered the physique!

BOOM! At that moment, Li Qiye’s body swayed. It was as if a great treasure had been unlocked within him. In an instant, his constitution became as clear as crystal; every tendon, every muscle fiber, even every single pore was distinctly visible. Li Qiye could even feel the pulsing of his own body, sensing each breath with perfect clarity.

At that moment, the physique in his heart chamber began to shine with a dazzling light. All sorts of visions emerged, as if it were a world leading to a great treasure, or a sacred gate being opened.

All sorts of visions manifested around the physique: the Reincarnation cycle of Hell, gods and demons howling, the Nine Netherworld shouldering all of eternity, and the endless river of life... Yet regardless of the vision—be it gods and demons, the Nine Netherworld, or even the Reincarnation of Hell—all of it was suppressed beneath the physique. The physique reigned supreme, like a Sovereign ruling this world. All living beings, all gods and demons, and all life throughout the eons could not transcend its existence. Everything was held down by the suppression of this terrifying physique. This was the supreme physique of the Prison Suppressing Divine Body.

Li Qiye’s spirit shook. He struggled to open his eyes, a joyous light flickering within them. He murmured, "I’ve finally made some progress." He paused, his gaze then sharpening as he continued to murmur, ’The minor tribulation is coming!’

The Prison Suppressing Divine Body! One of the Twelve Supreme Immortal Bodies. Cultivating a Supreme Immortal Body was easier said than done; it was even harder than ascending to the heavens. Not just anyone could comprehend the supreme Mystical Meaning of a physique. For any Cultivator, comprehending the secrets of their physique and cultivating a Wudi Immortal Body was an extremely arduous task.

But for Li Qiye, comprehending the mysteries of a physique was not a difficult matter. When it came to the path of the Immortal Body, no one in the world had walked further than him. He had personally nurtured a Great Success Immortal Body—and not just one. He had explored all of the Twelve Immortal Bodies. Having lived for millions of years, no one had invested more painstaking effort into the study of physiques than he had!

For Li Qiye, cultivating an Immortal Body required diligence. As for its mysteries, he had already grasped them completely. As long as he forged ahead bravely, he would one day achieve a complete Immortal Body.

Li Qiye had been cultivating the Prison Suppressing Divine Body arduously and without rest. His bitter efforts had finally paid off. Now, his Prison Suppressing Divine Body was finally on the verge of Minor Achievement. Once he passed the minor tribulation, he would reach Immortal Body Minor Achievement! Although the road to the Great Success Immortal Body was still long...

However, reaching Immortal Body Minor Achievement was an extraordinary accomplishment. Throughout the ages, even a Minor Achievement Immortal Body was a terrifying existence. The sheer oppressive power of such a physique was something every Cultivator feared!

Li Qiye took a breath. Reaching Immortal Body Minor Achievement was an incredibly exciting event for any Cultivator. Once achieved, it could pose a significant threat even to a Great Perfection Holy Body! Although Li Qiye was pleased, he wasn’t overly excited. He took another deep breath. He was in no rush to face the minor tribulation; he needed to overcome this Immortal Body tribulation perfectly.

After calming himself, Li Qiye opened his second Life Palace. Within it, Little Confusion’s Dao Bone was bathed in Heaven and Earth Essence Qi, the Power of Life, and the Water of Life. By now, the Dao Bone was more than just crystalline and brilliant; it emanated waves of radiant light. Deep within that radiance, it was as if a Domain Gate had opened, with faint glimmers of various treasures emerging. At the very center of this Domain Gate stood a shadow. It stood there as if it could shatter everything in the world, as if it could break through all of eternity, exuding an aura that could look down upon all living things and sweep across the Nine Realms.

Feeling the faint pulse, Li Qiye couldn’t help but sigh in relief. This was good news for him. There was still hope for Little Confusion...

The Nine Saints Demon Gate did not disappoint Li Qiye. In a short amount of time, they had prepared everything he needed.

"There’s still one material missing." After handing all the materials to Li Qiye, Li Shuangyan checked the list and said, "We’re missing something called a Celestial Sacrificial Pig. Is that a pig? Our Nine Saints Demon Gate tapped into our entire network, but we still couldn’t find anything called a Celestial Sacrificial Pig!"

"It’s not surprising you couldn’t find it. This thing comes from the Ancient Sky Corpse Land. Very, very few people even know what it is." Li Qiye wasn’t surprised. He narrowed his eyes and said to Li Shuangyan, "I know where to get one. Let’s go. We’ll go buy one."

Li Qiye led Li Shuangyan and Chen Baojiao out of the small courtyard and back into the bustling city. Normally, buying a single item wouldn’t require such fanfare, but Li Qiye wanted to take Li Shuangyan and Chen Baojiao out to broaden their horizons.

On the streets of Celestial Ancient City, Li Qiye twisted and turned through the alleys. Even Li Shuangyan and Chen Baojiao, who were right behind him, became so dizzy they almost lost their bearings.

Navigating the complex, winding streets of Celestial Ancient City, twisting and turning every which way, Li Qiye moved as if he knew the place like the back of his hand. This prompted Chen Baojiao to ask, "Young Master, have you been to Celestial Ancient City before?"

He was so familiar with the alleys and side streets of Celestial Ancient City that even a native might not have known them better than Li Qiye. Chen Baojiao couldn’t help but find it strange.

"A quick calculation and I know which way to go," Li Qiye said with a smile.

Chen Baojiao shot her Young Master an annoyed glance, yet it was filled with indescribable charm and allure, brimming with endless temptation. Such a bewitchingly beautiful woman could truly make one’s heart flutter.

Eventually, Li Qiye led the two women into a tiny alley. Located within the massive Celestial Ancient City, it felt like being in the deepest part of a rat’s nest. High walls and overhanging ancient towers loomed on all sides, casting the alley in a particularly gloomy shadow.

The alley ended in a dead end. In a place like this, there wasn’t a soul in sight—not even a ghost. If Li Qiye hadn’t been leading the way, Li Shuangyan and Chen Baojiao would have never found it.

Only when they reached the end of the alley did Li Shuangyan and Chen Baojiao see a small shop. It was obscured by a dilapidated wooden door that creaked noisily, looking as if a single gust of wind could knock it over.

"Old Ghost Little Shop!" A rotten, old sign hung above the shopfront. It was impossible to tell how many years it had gone uncleaned, covered as it was in cobwebs.

Seeing a name like that, both Li Shuangyan and Chen Baojiao couldn’t help but feel their skin crawl. It felt as if a cold draft was blowing on their backs, as if the place were genuinely haunted.

Li Qiye, on the other hand, was perfectly relaxed. He pushed open the dilapidated wooden door and went inside, with Li Shuangyan and Chen Baojiao hurrying in after him. They felt that this wasn’t a shop at all; it was like stepping into a tomb.

The shop’s interior was dark and gloomy. Aside from a cabinet that looked ancient, there was nothing else. Behind the cabinet was a small side door, leading into pitch-black darkness of unknown destination.

An old man was sitting at the counter. He sat behind it with his eyes closed, as if asleep. The old man was incredibly small and thin, his whole body wizened and shriveled. A single glance at him would startle anyone; he looked as desiccated as a mummy. An unsuspecting person might have mistaken him for a corpse propped up there.

The old man’s hair was a mess, like a bird’s nest. Slumped behind the counter, he truly looked like a dead man at first glance!

Looking at the shopkeeper, Li Shuangyan and Chen Baojiao exchanged a glance. They both felt a chill in the air that made them deeply uncomfortable. ’Would anyone ever patronize such a small shop in such a remote place?’ they wondered.

Li Qiye gently tapped his fingers on the countertop. The rhythm was slow and drawn-out. As he tapped, the sound was like an echo in an empty valley.

It was impossible to say how long Li Qiye had been tapping before the old man finally stirred. He moved with an extreme slowness, looking just like a zombie.

The sight made Li Shuangyan and Chen Baojiao suck in a sharp, cold breath. He didn’t seem like a living person at all—more like a dead one. The old man’s movements were like those of a corpse that hadn’t stirred for a millennium.

After what felt like an eternity, the old man slowly opened his eyes. The moment he did, both Li Shuangyan and Chen Baojiao jumped in fright. The whites of his eyes far outweighed the pupils, and they glinted with a green light, just like a Ghost Eye. It was utterly bizarre!

If Li Qiye hadn’t brought them here, both Li Shuangyan and Chen Baojiao would have thought that this wasn’t a shop at all, but a dwelling for ghosts!

"Old Ghost Little Shop, Old Ghost at your service," the old man said sluggishly. His voice was drawn-out and ethereal, as if it were an old ghost from Hell speaking without an ounce of energy. His movements and tone of voice made Li Shuangyan and Chen Baojiao feel that this old man was not a living being at all.

"I want a Celestial Sacrificial Pig," Li Qiye said calmly.

The old man didn’t spare Li Qiye a glance. His movements remained stiff and slow as he droned, "What will you trade for it?"

"How about a legendary tale?" Li Qiye replied, narrowing his eyes as he stared at the old man.
