Chapter 149: Chapter 148: Six Dao Sword (Part 2)

"The universe was an egg at the dawn of chaos. Then came Taichu’s Nine Characters, leading to Nine Words Create Nine Treasures, and finally the Nine Treasures and Nine Books!" Li Shuangyan murmured aloud.

Li Qiye trusted Li Shuangyan more than anyone else by his side. Her loyalty had been thoroughly tested. Thus, while she knew the secrets of the *Body Book*, she simply kept them unspoken.

Li Shuangyan kept her lips sealed about this secret; she would never tell another soul.

"The Nine Books are on par with the heavens and earth, eternal and everlasting. A mere Pumo Tree is nothing compared to my Body Techniques," Li Qiye said, smiling and shaking his head at Li Shuangyan. "You must have confidence in your Pure Body. It can definitely suppress it. In fact, the demonic nature of the Pumo Tree will be refined by your Pure Body, which will give your Dao Practice a significant boost."

Hearing Li Qiye’s words, Li Shuangyan finally breathed a sigh of relief. Her cultivation of the Supreme Immortal Body Technique was progressing smoothly, and the power she could wield from her Pure Body was growing stronger by the day.

"This sword is more than just a sword," Li Qiye told Li Shuangyan. "It was forged from the primordial roots of the Six Paths Lotus and the Pumo Tree, originating from an extremely ancient era. The Great Dao of both the lotus and the tree are inscribed within it. It has borne the mystical meaning of the world’s refinement; Heaven and Earth forged these roots into a sword. This process has elevated it beyond the scope of the Great Daos of the Six Paths Lotus and the Pumo Tree. It even holds the secrets of the high heavens. With this sword, you can glimpse the Path of the Heavenly Dao! Study it well. Perhaps one day, you’ll be able to create your very own Celestial Dao!"

Li Shuangyan was deeply moved by his words. ’The Celestial Dao! That touches upon the highest level of existence. Achieving great success in the Celestial Dao means one could become an Immortal Emperor and shoulder the Celestial Mandate in the future!’

"What about you?" Li Shuangyan asked after coming back to her senses. She understood that the Six Paths Sword was absolutely peerless, its value no less than that of an Immortal Emperor True Artifact! It wasn’t just a weapon; it was a vessel for a supreme Great Dao.

"I’ve already been studying it for some time now. Everyone’s fortune is different, so their insights will also be different. I already have a general idea. You should focus on comprehending it. I’ll ask you for it when I need it," Li Qiye said. As soon as he had obtained the Six Paths Sword, he had begun to fathom its mysteries and had already reached some understanding.

Though his body was of Mortal Life, his perspective and experience in cultivation were unparalleled. Thus, from comprehending the Six Paths Sword, he had managed to derive an entire Sword Technique!

After Li Shuangyan left, Li Qiye took out the Ten Thousand Furnace God. He presented it and shouted, "Open!" The toad-shaped object flew from his grasp and, upon landing on the ground, transformed into the massive Furnace God.

The Ten Thousand Furnace God settled on the ground, its toad-like form opening a cavernous mouth. Li Qiye placed a hand on it and began circulating the Supreme Medicine Dao from the *Medicine God’s Grand Canon* to ignite its fire.

WHOOSH— WHOOSH— WHOOSH— As he channeled his energy, flames shot out from the Fire Source and coalesced into a Medicine Cauldron inside the furnace. But Li Qiye didn’t stop there; he continued to stoke the fire.

As Li Qiye stoked the fire, the flames leaping from the Fire Source formed a second Medicine Cauldron. This process continued, and under the refining power of the Supreme Medicine Dao, more and more Medicine Cauldrons materialized inside the furnace...

One Medicine Cauldron after another taking shape—it was an unbelievable sight. Normally, a Furnace God’s Fire Source could only form a single Medicine Cauldron. Only a few extremely rare and precious ones, or those once wielded by legendary Pharmacists, could possibly form two or three!

Yet now, within the Ten Thousand Furnace God, a seemingly endless stream of Medicine Cauldrons was forming. Any Pharmacist witnessing this would have been utterly dumbfounded.

This should have been impossible, yet it was happening at Li Qiye’s hands. If any other Pharmacist were to see so many Medicine Cauldrons forming within a single Furnace God, they would be shocked speechless.

This was, without a doubt, a Supreme Treasure. A supreme Furnace God that would make any Scripture Master drool with envy!

For the next several days, Li Qiye immersed himself in forming cauldrons within the Furnace God. He created more and more, but after forming over five hundred, he started to struggle. This made Li Qiye realize his Dao Practice was still not strong enough; his Blood Qi and the ambient Heaven and Earth Essence Qi were insufficient to sustain all of the Furnace God’s Fire Sources.

If anyone had seen Li Qiye form over five hundred Fire Cauldrons in a single session, they would have been stunned into a stupor. It was a completely impossible feat. It was likely that no one in all of history had ever managed to form so many Fire Cauldrons within a single Furnace God!

Of course, this was precisely what made the Ten Thousand Furnace God so peerlessly Defying Heaven. It had lived since time immemorial, devouring countless fire seeds. More terrifyingly, back when Li Qiye and the Medicine God were nurturing it, they had scoured the Eight Desolations and the Nine Realms and Ten Directions, gathering every fire seed, Spiritual Medicine, and Immortal Herb they could find to feed it.

It was no exaggeration to say that during the era they fed it, there was likely no fire seed, Spiritual Medicine, or Immortal Herb left in the world that the Ten Thousand Furnace God had not consumed.

If anyone back then had known how extravagantly they were feeding this single Furnace God, they would have been scared senseless. They would have surely thought the two of them were mad, for only madmen would do such a thing.

In fact, the Medicine God of that era was indeed half a madman, which was exactly why Li Qiye, in his form as the Yin Ya, had dubbed him the Medicine Madman!

For now, Li Qiye had reached his limit in forming the cauldrons. He shifted his focus from creating more and instead began to practice his Fire Manipulation Technique using the Supreme Medicine Dao.

Within the furnace, under the refining power of Li Qiye’s Supreme Medicine Dao, the flames became incredibly lifelike. At times they took the form of a galloping horse, then a soaring eagle, then a swimming fish, then flowing water...

For a Pharmacist, whether they were Body-Brewing Ointment, creating Essence Blood Medicine, or even refining Life Pills, the Medicine Dao was not merely about understanding pharmacology, mastering Alchemy Techniques, or managing Fire Control. Another extremely crucial element was the Fire Control Skill. A Pharmacist’s command over the Fire Source within their furnace directly influenced the quality of the resulting Spirit Medicine Fate Palace.

The strength of a Pharmacist’s Medicine Dao hinged on many factors, and their Fire Control Skill was one of the most critical.

When it came to the Medicine Dao, it was doubtful anyone in the current world could surpass the Medicine God and the Yin Ya, Li Qiye, from that bygone era. One could say that the *Medicine God’s Grand Canon*, penned by the Medicine God, was the absolute pinnacle of the Medicine Dao—a work that none could ever hope to exceed.

Be it the Medicine Dao or the Fire Manipulation Technique, he deserved half the credit for creating the *Medicine God’s Grand Canon*. Practicing it again today was second nature to him. Thus, it didn’t take long for his Fire Manipulation Technique to reach a state of absolute perfection—an unbelievable level of mastery.

Anyone who didn’t know his history would see his astonishing progress in the Fire Manipulation Technique and exclaim that he was a peerless genius. A man like him seemed born to be a Pharmacist!

Of course, the world didn’t know that his ability to achieve such results so easily wasn’t just due to his present efforts. Behind it all lay millions of years of his own bitter toil and sacrifice.

Having mastered his Fire Control Skill, Li Qiye began alchemy. He started with just a single cauldron’s worth, and he chose to refine Longevity Medicine!

There was a saying among Pharmacists: "Brew Body Ointment, concoct Jing Shou Medicine, refine Life Pills!" Of these three major types of spiritual medicine, Body Ointment was the easiest to create, Longevity Medicine came next, and Life Pills were the most difficult. A Pharmacist’s true power was tested by their ability to refine Life Pills.

Li Qiye started with Longevity Medicine with the intent to move on to Life Pills. For him, the Longevity Medicine was just a warm-up; Life Pills were his real objective...

Li Qiye remained immersed in the Supreme Medicine Dao for quite some time. The members of the Xiyan Ancient Sect knew not to disturb his cultivation.

Then, several months into Li Qiye’s immersion in alchemy, a visitor suddenly arrived at Solitary Peak. Upon reaching the Xiyan Ancient Sect, this person specifically requested to see Li Qiye.

When the carriage stopped on Solitary Peak, three people disembarked, not including the driver. One was a peerless beauty, a woman whose allure could topple nations. The other two were clad in black, their faces obscured by hoods. Their features were hidden as they supported the woman, helping her inside.

This nation-toppling beauty was none other than Chen Baojiao of the Jade Xi Territory. She was being supported by the two figures in black, her face was deathly pale, and her walk was unsteady.

Even so, it did nothing to diminish her peerless, captivating charm. In fact, her pale complexion made her seem all the more pitiable.

"I agree to your condition—" the weakened Chen Baojiao said the moment she entered and saw Li Qiye.

Her agreement didn’t surprise Li Qiye, but her appearance did. After Li Shuangyan helped her to a seat, Li Qiye stared at her for a long moment before saying in astonishment, "You destroyed your Dao Foundation!"

At his words, Chen Baojiao managed a small smile. For a woman of her peerless beauty and unmatched charm, that smile was filled with endless bitterness and sorrow. It was like a wilting flower, possessing a hauntingly tragic beauty.

"I just wonder if you’re still willing to take in a cripple like me!" Chen Baojiao gave another bitter smile as she spoke. But her spirit was fierce; she sat there with her chest held high, and despite her words, there was no trace of self-pity.

"I’ll take you," Li Qiye said calmly. "It’s only a destroyed Dao Foundation. That’s no great matter to me. However, I am a bit surprised that you’ve come to me so soon."

"I have left the Chen Family, the Jade Xi Territory, and the Treasure Pillar Saint Sect!" Chen Baojiao said with a bitter smile filled with indescribable sorrow, reluctance, and pain. "I returned everything to the family and the sect. All of my treasures, my rare artifacts, even my Cultivation Technique Dao Foundation—I returned it all to my Sect and Family!"

Li Shuangyan was moved when she heard this. Chen Baojiao had put in countless hours of effort to finally reach the level of a Heroic Hero. Yet, in a single day, she had destroyed her own Dao Practice and her entire Dao Foundation. For a cultivator, destroying one’s own Dao Foundation was a fate worse than death! It was a truly devastating blow.

Tenth update today, and I’m tired. I had a driving lesson this afternoon and started driving on the actual road. It was really nerve-wracking being on a busy street with so much traffic. Xiao Sheng was on edge, just as nervous as I get when competing for monthly tickets—it feels like walking on thin ice.

Please wish me luck so I can pass my test on the first try! Once Xiao Sheng gets his license, I’ll celebrate with a burst of updates.

After you finish this Chapter, please vote to show your support! If you don’t have a monthly ticket, a recommendation vote is also a huge encouragement for Xiao Sheng.

Finally, good night and sweet dreams. ^-^(To be continued. If you like this work, you are welcome to come to Qidian.com to vote for recommendations and monthly tickets. Your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users, please visit m.qidian.com to read.)
