Chapter 11: Chapter 10: It’s So Delicious

Meanwhile,

Jin Wei, Xu Bo, and their two friends arrived at the internet cafe.

They booted up their computers, put on their headsets, and casually tossed a pack of cigarettes onto the table.

Xu Bo waved his hand.

"Brother Jin, quick, pass me a bun. I’m starving to death."

Only then did the group remember the buns.

The main reason was that they ate buns every day and were getting sick of them. They always tasted the same, each one full of MSG and other additives.

It was monotonous.

So, none of them had high expectations. It was just about filling their stomachs and not dying of hunger.

"Here, have a shrimp and corn bun to satisfy your craving."

When Xu Bo heard the words "satisfy your craving," he was instantly scornful.

He took the soft, springy, scalding-hot bun and gave it a squeeze.

He chuckled drily.

"The owner seems like a decent guy, but I know the score."

"’Shrimp and corn bun’? Brother Jin, have you gotten this naive? It’s definitely just shrimp flavoring, or maybe some of that tasteless farmed shrimp. Psh, it’s not like I haven’t had it before."

Nearby, Gao Wen, his face covered in acne scars, chimed in to agree.

"Yasuo Xu has a point. Businesses are all about making money."

"I’ve bought shrimp buns from the market before, at about this price. They had a few pieces of shrimp inside, but the flavor was off. They were probably made with dead, farmed shrimp."

"Shrimp is over seventy yuan a jin these days. After you peel it and get rid of the water weight, there’s barely any meat left."

Jin Wei nodded.

"Just eat, just eat. Don’t talk so much."

With one hand on his mouse, Xu Bo casually popped the bun into his mouth with the other.

His first impression was that the wrapper was incredibly soft and chewy, its light fragrance sweeping across his tongue.

The moment he bit through the skin and his teeth sank into the scalding hot, fresh and tender meat of the Little Cyan Dragon shrimp, he was utterly dumbfounded.

The shrimp meat was plump, plentiful, and smooth. A savory, fresh shrimp flavor exploded across his taste buds.

He couldn’t help but chew a few times. The shrimp was tender and intensely flavorful, and then the corn kernels burst as his teeth pressed down on them.

Scalding hot corn juice enveloped the Little Cyan Dragon shrimp meat, tumbling around in his mouth...

Xu Bo was dumbstruck, astonished, and completely floored.

He had never eaten such a delicious bun in his entire life!

The ingredients were so generous, and... the texture of that unknown variety of shrimp was simply incredible!

The overall flavor was a perfect, complementary fusion with no clashing elements, and there was absolutely not a single trace of artificial flavoring or additives.

It was all the natural flavor of the ingredients themselves!!

’Fifteen for one??’

’Are you fucking kidding me!?’

’For a taste like this, he’d be willing to pay a hundred and tighten his belt to afford it!’

Xu Bo devoured the bun in just a few bites, barely even taking the time to chew.

Right now, his stomach was screaming for more of the delicacy.

It was like a starving strongman who hadn’t eaten in a week suddenly spotting glistening, fatty lamb skewers hot off the grill.

"Brother Jin, I want more! I want more! Quick, give them to me!"

His eyes were glued to the takeout bag.

"Xu Bo, what the hell is wrong with you?"

Jin Wei felt a wave of nausea and a disgusted chill. Certain images automatically popped into his head, making him want to throw up.

"Here, here, take it."

Jin Wei casually pulled a box out and tossed it to Xu Bo.

Xu Bo impatiently tore open the lid, devouring one bun in just a few bites.

He was wolfing them down.

"Seriously, Xu Bo, were you a hungry ghost in your past life or something?"

Xie Feng, who was wearing glasses nearby, rolled his eyes in contempt.

"No, it’s just too good! The flavor of this bun is unbeatable!" Xu Bo replied indistinctly, his mouth stuffed with food.

"It can’t be that good, can it? You’re acting like you’ve never had a bun before."

Half-convinced, the others curiously picked up their buns and took a bite.

"???"

"This flavor???" freewēbnoveℓ.com

"Holy shit!"

"Damn, damn, damn!"

"How is this so good!"

In an instant,

the four internet-addicted youths dropped their mice, their eyes filled with nothing but the buns.

The group stopped talking and focused on demolishing the buns in their hands.

The internet cafe’s owner noticed the youths, who were eating so ferociously they looked like they wanted to swallow their own fingers, and shook his head in disdain.

’Have they not eaten in two days or something?’

The four of them finished four boxes of buns in one minute.

Jin Wei blew on his mouth, which was numb from the heat.

He exhaled big puffs of fragrant, hot air.

The unique aroma of chives and egg began to waft through the internet cafe.

Xu Bo asked with wide eyes,

"Brother Jin, how are these buns so damn good? That first bite blew my mind. I was seriously blown away."

Brother Jin licked the lingering grease from his lips, a reminiscent look on his face.

"Same here, I’m amazed. My mom once brought me a beef bun from a high-end restaurant that cost 188 yuan.

She said it was made by a top-tier state banquet pastry chef, with the freshest, highest-quality ingredients. But honestly, compared to the ’Three Delicacies’ bun I ate today, that one was just average!"

Xu Bo and Xie Feng were shocked.

"A 188-yuan bun can’t compare to one that costs just a few bucks? For real, Brother Jin?"

"What would I gain from lying to you? It really is better than that other bun."

The two of them fell silent after hearing this.

In the corner, the more worldly Gao Wen nodded in agreement.

"I have to agree. This definitely isn’t something made with artificial flavorings or seasonings. I can still taste the difference."

"No shit, Sherlock. With a natural, rich aroma like this, it’s obviously from the ingredients and the craftsmanship. Even an idiot could tell!"

The group savored the lingering aftertaste.

"Should we go buy some more? What am I going to do, I’m still craving it."

Jin Wei hesitated for a moment.

"Maybe next time. Aren’t we all full? I don’t have much money left in my pocket, so we should save it."

"Good things should be savored. We’ll just buy more next time!"
