Chapter 94: Chapter 94; I will ruin her face

Ilya’s POV

I jolted upright, a sharp gasp tearing out of my throat as I fought to draw in air. My chest felt entirely too tight, my lungs burning as I looked around at my environment. I was lying in a bedroom, but for the life of me, I couldn’t figure out how I had gotten here.

I racked my brain, desperately searching my memory. The last thing I remembered was sitting at the table, getting ready to have sex with Lucian—and that was it. Everything after that moment was a total blank.

I clenched my fists into the bedsheets, my teeth grinding together. What the hell did they do to me? I wondered. Was I drugged? No, that didn’t make any sense. No one in this pathetic territory knew anything about the kind of rare substances that could affect me, and besides, I was a Lunareth. I was far too powerful to be brought down by a common drug. I mean, the last time I was almost killed, it only happened because I had accidentally taken the wrong medication. I couldn’t be losing my memory like this.

I knew exactly what I needed to do. I was going to throw these blankets off, stand up from this bed, and go find Alina. That housemaid had to be the mastermind behind this.

But just as I shifted my weight to get up, the bedroom door swung open.

Lucian walked into the room, carrying a beautifully arranged tray of food. "Good morning," he said, a pleasant smile playing on his lips.

I blinked, completely caught off guard. I felt a wave of confusion washing over me—why was he suddenly being so nice to me?

"I brought you some breakfast," Lucian murmured, walking over to set the tray down. He gave me a knowing look. "You must be incredibly tired after everything that happened last night."

Hearing those words, a smug, satisfied smile instantly crept onto my lips. Of course. That explained everything. We had sex last night. Lucian was always incredibly good with his dick, and since it had been so long since I’d had good, proper sex, my body must have just completely passed out from the sheer exhaustion of the pleasure.

Any suspicion I had vanished. I swung my legs over the edge of the bed and stood up, looking at him warmly. "Thank you for breakfast, Lucian."

I leaned in, tilting my face up to plant a deep morning kiss on his lips, but he smoothly shifted his head away, stepping back.

"You need to go brush your teeth first, Ilya," he said, wrinkling his nose slightly. "Your breath smells."

I pouted, crossing my arms defensively. "Hey, no fair! I would still kiss you even if your mouth stank."

"Go brush," he insisted, gesturing toward the bathroom.

I let out a reluctant huff and trudged into the bathroom to clean up. By the time I walked back out, he had perfectly set the food out for me on the table. The sight of him acting like a doting fiancé made me want him all over again. I strutted over, leaning in to try and kiss him a second time.

Before my lips could touch his, Lucian broke off a piece of toast and shoved it directly into my mouth. "Eat this."

I chewed slowly, narrowing my eyes as I shot him a highly suspicious look. He was acting a bit strange, but I shrugged it off and sat down to finally enjoy my breakfast.

"Why didn’t we just have breakfast outside in the dining room with everyone else?" I asked, looking up at him through my lashes.

"I thought it would be much better if we had it in here," Lucian replied smoothly, pulling out a chair. "For more privacy."

I absolutely loved the sound of that. I preened under his attention, taking a sip of my drink. "You know, there is a major party for the Alphas happening tonight. I want you to come with me as my date."

Lucian frowned slightly, leaning back. "Ilya, I am a rogue. I am not exactly accepted by the other Alphas in the region. Isn’t that how you found me in the first place? With a massive bounty on my head?"

"I don’t care about any of that," I said dismissively, waving my hand in the air. "You are coming with me. It is about time the entire world sees the two of us together as a true power couple. And if any of those Alphas try to talk nonsense, they will have to answer directly to me."

Lucian gave me a faint, unreadable smile. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ

Remembering the irritation from yesterday, I stabbed at my food and asked, "Where is that useless Alina anyway?"

Lucian’s face hardened instantly. "She isn’t useless, Ilya. You need to mind your words when you speak about her."

Clatter!

I angrily dropped my spoon onto the plate, glaring at him in pure disbelief. "Are you seriously defending her right now? In front of me?"

"Of course I am," he said flatly, his voice entirely steady. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm

The lack of hesitation in his voice made me lose my temper completely. The fury burned hot in my chest. "I see how it is. You really aren’t afraid of me, are you, Lucian?" I hissed, leaning over the table. "But it’s no problem. Time will tell. The moment we get married, I will put a permanent stop to all of this."

Lucian didn’t even flinch. He simply stood up from his chair, completely unbothered by my threat. "Enjoy your breakfast, Ilya," he said coldly before turning around and walking out of the room.

I stared at the closed door, the anger boiling over inside me. I couldn’t stop thinking about the look in his eyes just now. There was absolutely no love in the way he looked at me. None. But whenever he looked at Alina, it was entirely different—there was a softness there that he never gave me.

I clenched my jaw, a dark, vicious realization hitting me. It had to be because of her face. It must be because of her beauty that he kept looking at her like that.

A wicked, vengeful grin spread across my lips as I gripped the edge of the table. I knew exactly what my first move was going to be. Before I did anything else, I was going to make sure I completely ruined Alina’s beautiful face.
