Chapter 500: Chapter 500: From This Moment On, I’ll Say I Love You
Gia Miller and her group led Tristan Grayson and Aria Joyce down a back road, returning to the Weslyn River.
They bound Tristan Grayson and Aria Joyce tightly together and tossed them into the river, only then contentedly calling it a day.
Hearing a woman’s scream up ahead, followed by the voices of several men and women, Mika Summers instantly grew alert.
"You... sly... vixen, that was a vicious plan. This time, I’d say not even God himself could save Tristan Grayson and the others."
"Hahaha, by the time anyone realizes something is wrong and comes looking, they’ll already be water ghosts!"
"Shit, can we not talk about ghosts? It’s the middle of the night. That’s creepy as hell!"
"Hahaha, Charles Warren, look at your pathetic self. With guts like yours, I can’t believe you actually dared to come along with us to kill someone."
...Listening to the voices outside, Mika Summers froze completely.
’Water ghosts? They threw Tristan and the others into the river?’
With that thought, Mika Summers reached for the door handle. But then she remembered—Ian Shaw had locked her in the car. There was no way out. If she pounded on the door, the car would make a noise, and Gia Miller’s group would certainly discover her.
So, fighting back her fear, she slid down in her seat until she was crouching on the floor. She stealthily pulled out her phone to call Ian Shaw.
But just as she was about to dial, she remembered she didn’t have Ian Shaw’s number.
She scrolled through her contacts for a long time. Besides Silas Kent, there was no one else she could call for help.
She tapped Silas Kent’s contact, sent him a brief message summarizing the situation, and then immediately tried to call the police.
While Gia Miller and her men were talking and smoking by the side of the main road, Gia suddenly noticed a light in the car up ahead.
Gia Miller flicked her cigarette to the ground and strode toward Ian Shaw’s car.
Seeing her move, the other men were instantly on guard. Leon Warren, in particular, moved even faster than Gia, already striding toward the car.
Mika Summers’ call to the police had just connected. Before she could even state her location, she heard footsteps approaching outside, getting closer and closer...
Her heart pounding, she cupped a hand over her phone, ducked her head even lower, and whispered urgently, "Weslyn River! Send help, quick!"
"What was that address??" Apparently, the dispatcher on the other end hadn’t heard Mika clearly.
Mika Summers again lowered her voice, whispering urgently, "Weslyn! At Weslyn River!"
Although Mika’s voice was a mere whisper, the voice on the other end of the phone boomed in contrast, "Weslyn? Did you say Weslyn River?"
"Yes! It’s Weslyn River! Send help!" Unable to hold back any longer, Mika suddenly raised her voice.
Outside, Leon Warren heard the sound from the car. He pulled his phone from his pocket and aimed its flashlight beam inside. Suddenly, the car’s interior was flooded with light. Mika knew she was about to be discovered. Worried that Silas Kent might have missed her text, she quickly dialed his number.
The call connected, and Silas Kent’s urgent voice came through at once. "Mika, don’t be scared! I’m almost there!"
Mika’s eyes reddened. "Silas, you have to hurry! Tristan... Gia Miller and her group threw him into the river..."
Leon Warren saw Mika just then and pointed at her, cursing, "Son of a bitch! There’s a woman hiding in here!"
Hearing his shout, Gia Miller rushed over.
Mika, for her part, hung up the phone and sat back up in her seat...
