Chapter 494: Chapter 494: Saying I Love You From This Moment On (94)
The day after, Mika Summers quit her job.
It wasn’t just because of Tristan Grayson; it was also because of Silas Kent. She couldn’t face his excessive concern for her...
「Time flew by, and in the blink of an eye, it was already the eighth of the next month.」
Today was her and Tristan Grayson’s engagement party. It was a grand affair, so all the guests were wealthy and influential. Dealing with them was truly draining. After a quick word with Tristan, she headed for the private room in the corner where Tiana and the others were.
As soon as she entered the private room, Kiki ran over to her, wrapping his arms tightly around her legs and shouting with a smile, "Mama."
"Mm-hmm." Mika Summers bent down and scooped Kiki up from the floor.
"Mama, when can we go home?"
"What’s wrong? Does Kiki not like places like this?"
"It’s not that I don’t like it, it’s that Rory doesn’t like it."
Hearing Kiki’s words, Mika Summers turned to look at Rory, who was sitting beside Tiana. She put Kiki down, walked over to Rory, and lifted her from the seat, asking with a gentle smile, "Rory, how about Auntie takes you to find your daddy?"
"Okay." Rory’s eyes darted around for a moment before she quietly agreed.
Mika Summers put Rory down and left the private room, holding one child with each hand.
Watching Mika and the children leave, Tiana Grayson put her phone on the table, her gaze a little forlorn.
Ever since the day Amelia left, she and Leo Joyce hadn’t seen each other, nor had they contacted each other even once.
Over these past few days, her initial anger, sense of grievance, and unease had transformed into her current feeling of being utterly disheartened.
She had thought about it for a very long time. She and Leo Joyce truly weren’t suited to be together anymore.
Before, she couldn’t bear to leave Leo Joyce, but now, there was nothing left to be reluctant about.
She picked up her phone, stood up, and walked out.
Gazing at the bustling main hall, she lowered her head slightly, strode out of the hotel’s main entrance, and went to the garden by herself.
Leo Joyce had been in the main hall drinking and chatting with a group of other young masters, but the moment he saw Tiana, he couldn’t help but put down his glass and follow her out, all the way to the garden.
Looking at the woman he hadn’t seen in so many days, it would be a lie to say he didn’t miss her. But he just couldn’t get over that hurdle in his heart—she had known all along that Amelia wasn’t dead, yet she had told Cassian Jennings first.
Tiana stood there clutching her phone, thinking for a long time before finally making up her mind. She unlocked her phone and called Leo Joyce.
But just then, a phone began to ring right behind her. Hearing it, Tiana hung up, her expression tense as she turned around...
"Tiana..." Leo Joyce’s voice was low and full of complicated emotions the moment he saw her.
Tiana suppressed the unease in her heart and asked coldly, "What are you doing here?"
"I’m here for your brother’s..."
Before Leo Joyce could finish, Tiana cut in coolly, "Oh, Leo, let’s break up."
"What did you say?" Hearing Tiana’s words, Leo Joyce’s heart couldn’t help but tremble violently. He clenched his fists, both uncertain and furious, and barked out the question.
"I said, let’s break up." Tiana steadied her emotions, held back her tears, and repeated the words evenly.
Leo Joyce’s voice was filled with rage. "Tiana Grayson, are you serious?" ’A breakup? She actually wants to break up with him? After not seeing each other for so many days, she wants to break up without even saying another word?’
"Yes, I’m serious. I’ve thought it through very clearly these past few days."
Hearing the woman’s resolute words, a pang of pain began to ache in Leo Joyce’s heart. He sneered, his voice cold and harsh as he bit out, "Fine! Then let’s break up!"
