Chapter 22: Unholy Entities
The rectangular brick was one of the biggest boons that Chu Xuan received in the earliest stages of the story.
The thing, or rather more specifically speaking, the entity sealed within the brick would go on to be an integral part of his progression in the world in these early stages all the way down through to the late stages of his part of the book.
However, that was all contingent on the fact that Chu Xuan possessed a special artifact with him that he has had since young. It was attached to his throat and to his whole being.
As soon as he spoke to any sort of antagonistic character in these early stages it activated and graced him with time and opportunity to turn the situation to his advantage.
That silver, damned, persuasive, protagonist tongue of his had somehow convinced the thing in here to not kill him immediately, and instead take him as an apprentice.
Ouyang Qianye didn’t have any of that.
All that he was gambling on was the fact that the way the system had spoken, it was suggesting that it was possible for him to make it through the ordeal somehow.
He was not enemies with the Destined elf, and he did not want to be.
So, the only thing that remained, having him placed against Destiny right now, and accessible within the next hours, was the sealed, unholy entity.
Whether he was aware of how he could do it immediately or not, did not matter.
Thinking more about it would get him nowhere but swamped in hesitation, wasting time. After all, the answer was not in anything that he knew about the novel.
So, he must already have the answer, and he just didn’t realise it yet.
Or at least that was what he convinced himself of.
As soon as Ouyang Qianye had smeared his blood on the brick his consciousness was swallowed by darkness.
Then within moments he woke up abruptly, standing over a vast, tumultuous sea. freēwēbηovel.c૦m
A swath of crimson filled his vision, and he saw mist drifting faintly.
However, suddenly, the sea was blacked out, swallowed by darkness.
Qianye felt himself hesitate several steps back trying to stabilise himself as the air stirred wildly.
’Fuck my audacity!’ he could only curse himself at this point.
The air felt like it was coalescing rapidly, and several colours flashed in the darkness, taking shape.
Qianye coughed out harshly, and was crashed to his knees. The pressure that had descended, knocking the air out of his lungs worsened, creaking his bones as it forced his head to bow.
He fought and fought, straining his whole body to lift his head as rains of sweat that had suddenly gathered fell down his face, rippling the darkness below as they landed. And at the same time, veins bulged across his neck.
Qianye’s couldn’t speak, his jaw clenched tight, and pained groans rumbling from his throat.
Right as he barely looked up, he witnessed the manifestation of a gigantic figure.
Two horns curled into a loop that ended with them threatening forwards at the subject of her red, predatory slit pupil attention.
Those huge, black feathered fallen wings beat a cutting wind that stirred the darkness beneath him, whipping his hair.
Qianye sat over his knees, holding himself up with one palm pressed over the darkness, and the right of his torse leaned up, struggling to keep itself raised along with his head. Those luminous amethyst eyes of his had been pried wide, tracing the strange tracings, patterns and symbols carved across its seemingly bloodless flesh.
The darkness swiftly gathered, transforming into dark robes that covered her figure and a curtain of black hair burst from her head, falling all the way down her twenty-nine foot tall figure.
"Mortal, relinquish what remains of your body to me."
The voice rumbled through the space and Ouyang Qianye felt a sharp pain through his chest and head, as if he were struck by the thunder of a bell tolling the hour.
"I really..." Ouyang Qianye creaked and struggled, wobbling himself to his feet as he gurgled out a laugh through what felt like bile clogging his throat. He barely stood himself straight, catching himself from falling back down to his knees with one of his legs, and he groaned the words, "I really wouldn’t recommend it. I’m smelly, emaciated, the enemy of everyone in the sect, a devout believer in my ancestors, bloody, weak and pitiful..."
In times of crisis, when he knew nothing of what he should or could do, the only thing that there was left to do was bullshitting for time!
So, Qianye dragged for more air to continue, and then spewed, "Why would someone as great—"
Suddenly the giant female demon glared with great malice, raising a leg high and damning a stamping foot forward as she roared, "Cease your foolishness!"
The darkness surged into a giant wave, and Qianye’s eyes widened as it rose.
’Well fuck you very much then!’ The thought thundered through him and his fight or flight kicked in.
Abruptly, he threw the thoughts of the pressure off of himself, pivoted and ran! frёewebηovel.cѳm
He did not have anywhere he was going, only knowing that he had to try escape, his heart racing, thundering, and his eyes bloodshot as those bloodied bare feet ran for dear life.
’I only wanted to talk and she’s trying to kill me?! Why!?’
The distance between the two of them, especially considering their size difference was far from large. The giant wave of darkness that she created would crash into him within the next few moments as a result, before he had hardly taken over a dozen steps.
At that moment, Ouyang Qianye’s eyes suddenly pried open.
’Wait, what did she just say?’ Chills constricted through his mind.
’I don’t have the luxury of wondering whether I’m right or wrong, just act!’
Qianye harshly spun on the balls of his feet, skidding himself to a stop. At the same time, he raised his arms swiftly, clenching his jaw tight as he lowered his centre of gravity. He had to at least survive this wave!
He drew in a desperate, gluttonous amount of air then smashed his jaw shut. The darkness smashed into him. His body collapsed against the wet surface that he had been standing over. The giant wave’s pressure tore against him, invading through his orifices and exploding through him.
’It hurts! It fucking hurts!’
His mouth was wrenched open by the pressure and strangely, he released a guttural, agonised roar from within in, "Aaaarrrggghhhh!!!"
The torment continued for several long seconds where he did not realise the lack of the need for breath. However, that only made it worse, as his screams chocked the darkness through him, blackening his vision and deafening him from his agony.
