Chapter 14: To Be Daring For Yours
There never would have been a kinder fate for an insignificant outer disciple who was found to have attempted an assassination on one of their own.
The disciples that had shoved him forward had all known that it would end like this. That being said, what they had not expected was for Elder Han to gift Ouyang Qianye such a good healing pill for him to execute the disciple himself.
Moreover, this choice of method... was it not too gruesome? Today, they who had only come hear with shallow understanding born of hearsay, now understood why the rumours about Ouyang Qianye were the way that they were.
Many of the disciples, especially those that had only recently joined, recoiled at the sight of it. They shuffled themselves to the back of the pack, muttering urgent excuses to let them through as they ran off to hurl out whatever they had eaten for the day out.
They all swore to themselves that they would never cross him.
Only the enforcers and the supervisor were indifferent to what he had done.
And yet, the dark golden eyed elf, unlike any of the rest of them, watched in such rapt attention.
Amidst all of that, now slathered in the blood of the vengeance he had taken for the lost soul, Qianye rose to stand himself straight once more.
The iron tang of blood filled the nostrils of everyone present within the next few seconds, and Qianye released a sigh, half turning his body with that inglorious, faint smile, his eyes gleaming a contented purple. freeωebnovēl.c૦m
"I take it that my elf and I are cleared of all accusations then, Elder Han?"
"Yes, you are."

The sweet, nectar like voice of the system resounded in his head as soon as the supervisor uttered those words.
Outer disciples gathered burst into wary though awed murmurs, and even the enforcers had surprised looks to them.
Observing the man well, Qianye noticed the same kind of look in Han Tieliang’s gaze as well.
’It’s only natural that they all treated it like a foregone conclusion that I was in fact a profane cultivator. These kinds of things aren’t the kind you just stumble into. You have to go looking for them to find them, or someone that already possesses them or knows where to find them points you in the right direction.’
That being said, Ouyang Qianye did not feel wholly triumphant yet as his gaze lingered over his hurt, bruised and bleeding elf.
He watched as the enforcer that had held her pressed hard to the ground this whole time released her, and along with the second enforcer, went over to supervisor Han’s side as the man turned.
She averted her gaze a little, not looking up at him as she still, despite the pressure being released, did not get up from her knees.
He was moments away from speaking when Qianye, as he released the tension in his jaw intervened:
"Elder Han, is it not rather cruel to leave my wrongly accused servant injured by a disciplinary officer by direct consequence of those false accusations?"
As soon as he said this, all of the outer disciples who had been silently attempting to shuffle themselves away, not wishing to see whatever aftermath would soon come for fear of implicating themselves further even despite their strong desires to witness whatever punishment Meng Jue might be condemned to next.
"This Ouyang Qianye, despite being given such good farm land he still wishes to take the whole region!" Someone whispered in wonder and then quickly hid themselves away.
The male enforcer, clean shaven with thick brows and a scar down the side of his face, turned back to face him more swiftly then supervisor Han and the second enforcer did.
Even Mo Chen looked up from his penitence in wonder, perhaps at how despite his intelligence thus far, he would not only go beyond defending the elf—already a monumental shock—but even so slyly demanding that she as well receive a healing pill.
"Don’t be too demanding, Disciple Ouyang." The male enforcer intoned, "There are limits to even supervisor Han’s kindness."
Qianye, despite the undertones of aggression in the man’s voice, shrugged faintly.
"And that is only natural." Then, as his shoulders fell, and her golden, wide eyed attention lingered on him, with her bloodied mouth hesitating in choking back what she wished to say lest she cause more trouble, his countenance became unsmiling, "Just as it is only natural that there are limits to how someone innocent should be treated, even if they might be an elf or a servant."
The enforcers brows furrowed deeper, and his mouth had part, moments from speaking, when Elder Han intervened.
"Zhao Lie," the man glanced back at her briefly, and then he looked back ahead as he waved one of his sleeves, "he is right. We are in the wrong having treated them so harshly despite their innocence."
From the pouch at his waist, a blue streak flew out, swirling around their figures and flying to hover right before her. It was the same kind of blue, faintly luminous pill.
Elder Han Tieliang walked forward, towards Meng Jue’s cohort, leaving her the words:
"Take it, elf. And be grateful you’ve stumbled yourself into the graces of someone so astute and daring."
Enforcer Zhao Lie lingered a moment longer than enforcer Xue Jingde did, and he faintly scoffed.
