Chapter 5133: Aiming Above
The Evilbane Hexweaver Arachnid was from the Asura Dimension, and the Chaos Dragon was unheard of. Both were extremely rare magical beasts. The Hayden Family and Miredon Family didn’t even realize what kind of hex it was, even though they had ample time to check.
City Lord Kain would’ve recognized it, but unfortunately, he was dead.
The Chaos Dragon didn’t even exist since they had just named it themselves. Hence, even if it was someone called the Boundless Poison Master, who didn’t exist since there was no such being from the Seven Boundless Brothers, he didn’t think they could instantly come up with a solution.
Jillian Hayden gave it some thought before she shook her head.
"No, since you claim you mean me no harm, I’ll stay with you until I finish your request or fail. Going outside with my beauty is courting death. In these tumultuous times, I got kidnapped even while I was with my family, so there is no reason to be stupid by walking out myself. This important person you speak of is likely important to you too. I want to see who brought ruin to the Hayden Family and thank them myself."
"..."
Davis curled his lips. After some thought, he nodded, "Fine, fine. Make yourself at home."
He walked back to the bed to have dibs on it. It was indeed comfy.
At this moment, the roach guy was here to meet Dragon inside the vast Treasury, so he was also paying attention to their conversation. Unexpectedly, he came to the gates openly. Since he said he wanted to meet a white-robed, crow-masked person, City Commander Yigan was able to recognize that it was Dragon and instantly allowed them to meet, thinking it should be important.
Dragon, on meeting the roach guy in the Treasury, quickly demanded that he crawl, leaving the other party speechless.
But in exchange, he was promised that he could take any treasure of Mid-Level Exalt Grade in the Treasury.
The roach guy then introduced himself as Zevonn Malark and then displayed the movement technique for Davis to comprehend. Nothing was better than watching someone show the ropes after understanding the theory.
But it was clear why he was here- to cure his cultivation problems that affected his health.
"What are you planning? You want to rule this city?"
Suddenly, a voice interrupted City Lord Davis’s thoughts. He turned to look at Jillian Hayden, who sat on a chair beside the bed, looking like she was going to confront him.
He smiled lightly, "No. I’ll be gone before you know it."
"How old are you?"
"That’s a peculiar question. Are you interested in me?"
"No, if you’re young, I can somewhat digest being with you in the same room for all day long since I now have a peculiar hate for old bastards. I’ll poison them to death if I see them leering at me."
Davis couldn’t help but chuckle, "Haha, I’m young, less than a hundred years."
"A hundred years..." Jillian Hayden narrowed her eyes, "You’re claiming that you’re an Exalt below a hundred years? Then you must be really trashy with your Law Comprehension, but your achievement of possessing the City Lord says otherwise. Did you use a treasure to accomplish it?"
Davis paused slightly before shooting her an amused gaze, "Why so many questions? If you want to know more, you must be prepared for the consequences."
"I’m already deep enough that a single whimsical decision of yours can end my life completely. Besides, if I want to reach the World Hegemon Stage, then I need to know and comprehend the wider world. You seem mysterious enough."
’This woman...’
Davis saw and felt with Heart Intent. Her mindset had certainly undergone a massive change after she had woken up. She was no longer the same naive Jillian Hayden.
"What about you? How old are you?"
"I’m a hundred and eighteen years old this year."
"Oh, almost two sexagenary cycles. For supreme geniuses, becoming an Exalt at the first sexagenary is considered supreme but also foolish due to Law Comprehension and hopes to reach Alpha Exalt. Becoming an Exalt in the second sexagenary is considered extremely good since that’s the time supreme geniuses from big powers break through to enter the Exalt Stage. It’s considered normal for the third, fourth, and fifth sexagenary cycles. Any later, it’s hard to be considered a genius in terms of age. But for an Alpha Exalt, the fifth sexagenary cycle, between two hundred and forty years old and three hundred years old, is already considered extremely great."
Davis sighed as he couldn’t help but recall the cold visage of his little sister.
Clara was three hundred years old, practically becoming his elder sister as she left him behind in terms of age. frёewebnoѵēl.com
Naturally, he knew she was aiming to become an Omega Exalt. He wholeheartedly believed she could in this decade. After all, her master was none other than the Celestial Transcendent himself. Would they even lack resources even in a full-blown desolate era that covers all galaxies?
The possibility of that was extremely unlikely.
"Why did you rush your cultivation and become an Exalt instead of an Alpha Exalt? Isn’t it foolish?"
Jillian Hayden asked with confusion. Her tone of voice was as though she was offended in his stead, making Davis speechless.
"You want to become an Alpha Exalt?" He returned with a question instead.
"Of course." Jillian Hayden’s expression turned smug, "I told you I don’t need your help since I know you wouldn’t be able to aid me in my path."
"Heh," Davis scoffed at her, "Alpha Exalt to a World Hegemon of greater caliber should still be within my means in the future. Any higher and that would depend on your own comprehension ability."
"You-" Jillian Hayden stood up and had the urge to point at him, wondering how he was still making boastful claims.
Did he even know how many Empyreans died in their Alpha Exalt tribulations, much less the next tribulation? They didn’t even need to speak about the World Hegemon Tribulation. After all, they wouldn’t even be able to afford the resources to become a World Hegemon of a greater caliber even if they were from a rich power in the Greater Realm!
It drove many Alpha Exalts to despair!
Her family had Alpha Exalts in the past, but none of them were able to reach the World Hegemon Stage!
Or was her family so enclosed and secluded that resources of that grade were now available a lot in the Greater Realms? How could that be possible? Even though their mini-realm was enclosed, they still sent people outside to trade or collect information every few million years.
They were all sentenced to death anyway, so they were not allowed to return, nor did they know the mini-realm’s location, allowing their mini-realm to never be exposed.
Nonetheless, she was unable to see if he was lying or delusional, but she wanted to believe so much that she felt like she was being taken advantage of again.
She sat down as she lowered her head, but then cast a glance at him.
At the very least, she found him easier to talk to since he didn’t take offense at every question she asked. Moreover, he appeared to be younger than her, although she didn’t fully believe his words.
Thinking that he could just be an overly confident scion from the Upper Realms and not the Greater Realms, she patiently explained the difficulty of entering World Hegemon Stage as an Alpha Exalt was.
"Resources aren’t available. So what? Such an obvious thinking point. Once I am able to swim across the Greater Realm, see how I scare everyone into giving me treasured resources that they kept waiting to use on a worthy heir." Davis sneered.
"..."
Jillian Hayden went dumbfounded.
She then gave up.
This person was... too much. Just because he had possessed a small City Lord, he thinks he could threaten Hegemon Grade powers?
She went silent, thinking what else she needed to know in order to survive.
"This girl... is not bad..."
Evelynn’s voice resounded in Davis’s soul sea through their hex link.
