Chapter 397: Chapter 397: The Solution

To be honest, Little Ape had been thoroughly enjoying its last few days with the Mo Family. Tier Four Demon Beasts were incredibly expensive—even the corpse of one was something most families could never afford.

Ever since Lin Yun and Little Ape had been placed under house arrest, Lin Yun had initially tried to use Little Ape’s massive appetite as an excuse to cause trouble for Mo Qingshui.

Who would have thought that Mo Qingshui would be so generous? From then on, she had someone deliver the leg of a Tier Four Demon Beast for Little Ape every single day.

And don’t be fooled—even a single leg was worth a fortune. According to market prices, it was valued at no less than a thousand Middle Grade Primordial Stones, which was equivalent to a hundred thousand Low Grade Primordial Stones.

With a supply of Low Grade Essence Spirit Pills and delicious Tier Four Demon Beast Flesh to eat every day, Little Ape was naturally content to lie back and relax, living each day in utter bliss.

Completely exasperated with Little Ape, Lin Yun shot it a glare. The little beast was currently hugging an enormous leg and gnawing away at it.

’What should I do? It looks like I can only rely on myself,’ Lin Yun mused. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com

As he paced back and forth in the courtyard, an idea suddenly struck Lin Yun. ’Since this is a matter between Luo Feng and Mo Qingshui, why not just let Luo Feng handle it himself?’

’Luo Feng won’t come to Jincheng, so I’ll just have Mo Qingshui go to Wind City.’

At this thought, Lin Yun felt there was a real chance of success—a high one, at that. But then, a second thought gave him pause. ’Wouldn’t this put Luo Feng in an awkward spot? After all, even without knowing her well, I can guess what Mo Qingshui’s personality is like. If that woman goes to Wind City, she’s bound to cause a major incident.’

’What should I do?’ On one hand, he lacked a foolproof plan. On the other, he didn’t want to cause trouble for Luo Feng. After all, he was indebted to the man and respected him deeply.

If Lin Yun had known that everything that had happened since he entered the Flawless Palace was orchestrated by Luo Feng from behind the scenes, he certainly wouldn’t be in such a bind.

After racking his brain for a long time, Lin Yun still couldn’t find a good solution. His only options were to either put Luo Feng in a tough spot or remain in one himself.

With no other options, Lin Yun grew impatient. Finally, he steeled his heart and thought, ’To hell with it. I just need to get through this crisis first. Besides, it’s his own fault for not dealing with the romantic mess he made. There’s nothing wrong with me bringing Mo Qingshui to Wind City.’

Unable to devise a better solution, Lin Yun finally settled on the simplest one: have Mo Qingshui go to Wind City herself. Let her and Luo Feng hash things out face-to-face. That way, it would no longer have anything to do with him.

With his decision made, Lin Yun started plotting how to convince Mo Qingshui to go to Wind City.

Meanwhile, at the Flawless Palace, tens of thousands of miles away, a cultivating Luo Feng suddenly sneezed. He was still completely unaware that Lin Yun had resolved to bring the hornet’s nest that was Mo Qingshui right to his doorstep in Wind City.

One could only imagine the kind of chaos a woman with Mo Qingshui’s temperament would cause upon arriving in Wind City.

"I wonder how that kid Lin Yun is doing," Luo Feng mumbled to himself before closing his eyes and resuming his cultivation.

It had to be said that Luo Feng and Lin Yun were truly fated to be master and disciple. Luo Feng had thrown Lin Yun into a pit, and now Lin Yun was unintentionally about to do the same to him. Although Lin Yun felt a pang of guilt at the moment, he would one day learn of Luo Feng’s schemes and be thankful he had made this choice.

After a long period of contemplation, Lin Yun finalized his plan. He immediately summoned the maid that Mo Qingshui had assigned to attend to him.

"Go inform Miss Mo that my master has a message for me to deliver to her. Ask her to join me for dinner tonight," Lin Yun instructed.

Upon hearing his words, the maid respectfully complied. Mo Qingshui had instructed that any and all of Lin Yun’s requests were to be met.

Watching the maid’s retreating figure, Lin Yun smiled faintly. ’As long as it has to do with Luo Feng, a woman like her is guaranteed to show up.’

As evening fell, the setting sun painted Jincheng in magnificent hues. The blood-red light draped itself like a thin veil, falling evenly across every corner of the city.

Lin Yun was seated at the dining table, awaiting Mo Qingshui’s arrival.

About a quarter of an hour later, the door swung open. As expected, Mo Qingshui had arrived. Her expression, however, remained as frosty as ever upon seeing Lin Yun. She strode directly to the seat opposite him, sat down, and asked in a cold tone, "Well? What message did your master have you deliver?"

Mo Qingshui’s expression appeared cold, but her eyes had already given her away. Though she concealed it well, a flicker of excitement did not escape Lin Yun’s sharp gaze.

Mo Qingshui was desperate to hear what Luo Feng had said, but Lin Yun completely ignored her eagerness, calmly and deliberately pouring her a cup of wine.

"Miss Mo, my master has actually told me everything about what happened between you and him." Raising his cup, Lin Yun spoke out of the blue. He then took a small sip of wine.

Lin Yun’s words may have seemed innocuous, but they struck Mo Qingshui’s ears like a clap of thunder. ’What does he mean, he told him everything?’

"What... did he tell you?" The chill emanating from Mo Qingshui intensified. She stared hard at Lin Yun, her words slow and deliberate.

The temperature in the room seemed to plummet to a freezing point, but Lin Yun maintained a calm facade. "He told me how you and he parted ways," he said, "and why he rejected the marriage. He told me everything."

Hearing this, Mo Qingshui could no longer conceal her inner turmoil. She grew flustered and anxious. "What did Luo Feng tell you? Tell me! Why did he reject the marriage? Spit it out!"

Seeing Mo Qingshui’s agitated state, Lin Yun smiled inwardly. ’This is exactly the reaction I was hoping for.’

Though he was delighted internally, Lin Yun kept his composure and said, "My master told me a lot. He said that he was the one who wronged you back then, but that you also made a mistake."

"I was wrong? What could I have done wrong?" Mo Qingshui demanded heatedly. "He was the one who rejected the marriage! What mistake did I make?" frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓

The moment the words left her mouth, she realized she had lost her composure. Forcing herself to calm down, she asked Lin Yun, "What does he claim I did wrong?"

"My master said that when you two first got together, he told you he was a philanderer," Lin Yun countered. "You didn’t object back then, did you? But when it came time for the wedding, didn’t you demand that he abandon his other women to marry you?"

At his words, Mo Qingshui fell silent. It was true. When she had first met Luo Feng, he had been completely upfront about having other women.

She hadn’t objected back then. After all, such arrangements were common on the Celestial Spirit Continent. Many families were like that—her own Mo Family included.

However, her silence did not last long. After a dozen or so breaths, and though Lin Yun couldn’t guess her thoughts, a terrifying, cold aura suddenly erupted from her body.

Mo Qingshui was a Celestial Spirit Realm expert. Lin Yun was completely unable to withstand her imposing presence. A chill shot through his heart, and he had the sudden urge to throw open the door and flee. But his work wasn’t done yet; he had to endure.
