Chapter 2443: Chapter 2444: Breaking In
Although somewhat worried about Najia, Feng Yuan didn’t rush over, as the matter here was more urgent. After all, no one knows what the internal situation is like. With just perception, one can only feel that the area is trapped in temporal chaos, and even Agunas can’t be sure of what lies within.
"This is a Time Storm."
Looking at the hemispherical chaotic-colored barrier, Little Husky couldn’t help but exclaim. The spherical energy barrier is merely a manifestation of the Time Storm. Its true form is naturally not like this, but what people can see with their eyes is just like this.
Almost all colors blend together, yet it is not pitch black, and even black is just one of the colors among them. Except for special existences, there are hardly any things that can display like this.
"It seems we need to call Agunas for help."
Veronia looked at the huge storm-like sphere and said. The hemisphere formed by the Time Storm is naturally not just a barrier; on the surface, there are things similar to cloud layers rapidly swirling and deforming, as if they were clouds swept in spirals by a strong wind.
Seeing this, Veronia somewhat understood why Najia summoned star descents along the way, as this is not a Time Attribute Divine Beast and is difficult to break open even with skills. The only solution is a violent breakthrough.
"No need."
Drawing out the dark long-handled scythe, Little Husky transformed back to its original form in the air. Behind him, a circle of ancient runes spun. Feng Yuan did not unfold wings, for in such an environment, wings were of little use.
Even if there was defense, it would not be strong enough. As for attacking?
Glancing at the dark scythe in his hand, Feng Yuan swung it fiercely, unleashing a power of world-opening proportions, mercilessly cutting through the rampant Power of Time contained on the surface of the Time Storm, causing the entire rotating barrier to stall.
"Let’s go!"
Shouting to Veronia, Feng Yuan flew into the cleft cut open, and now the hemisphere was forcibly sliced open with a huge rift, even though the Time Storm itself was more fluid-like in shape, it couldn’t self-repair to mend the breach.
Though the barrier was sliced open, Veronia dared not stray far from Feng Yuan because she could sense that the cleft was a void, or rather, in that area, all rules were negated, which is why the Time Storm couldn’t patch the breach.
However, in the situation where rules were entirely negated, even space shouldn’t exist. Veronia didn’t know how Feng Yuan managed a space where rules don’t exist.
Perhaps, this is a means beyond the limits of the world itself?
Thinking of Feng Yuan’s origins, Veronia didn’t ask further, she was a bit curious, why Feng Yuan wanted to do this.
Xiao Ji was summoned by Feng Yuan to stay close to him; after all, this area cut open was no safe place, or rather, here, existing alone was merely having a placeholder, as in fact, space rules don’t exist, wanting to go through here is only feasible relying on Feng Yuan’s power.
Down below, Beastmasters rushing to aid saw Feng Yuan cut open the path and hurried towards the cleft, yet the cleft, though it affected the barrier, even visually existing, they couldn’t come near it no matter how hard they tried. Rather than an illusion, it was more like the cleft was in a completely different space coordinate.
This bizarre feeling made them very uncomfortable, yet they had no choice but to think of other ways to break through the barrier, though they didn’t know Feng Yuan’s identity nor his intentions, they could guess that he was likely on their side, coming to support.
Inside the Time Storm, unsurprisingly, was a land of chaos. Lands from different times floated in the void. Summoning the dark ancient book, Feng Yuan flipped it open with his left hand, and golden text leapt out to guide Feng Yuan’s direction.
Agunas sensed his avatar being forcefully returned and looked confused at the location of Maomu City. What happened on Feng Yuan’s side? However, after retrieving the final memory from the avatar, Agunas’s face changed.
As Agunas was busy dealing with counterattacking and defending matters, he hadn’t paid attention to Feng Yuan’s situation, as after all, it seemed impossible for anything to happen in just one night. Yet, as if coincidentally, without Agunas’s attention, something did happen on Feng Yuan’s side or rather Maomu City.
Looking at Lorraine Tower beside him, Agunas said
"You and I will hurry to Maomu City; something’s happened there. Gitalien, open the door to send us over, then follow the previous plan to redistribute the Divine Beasts across all regions!"
Compared to counterattack, Agunas and the others were more focused on coordinated defense to protect the Main World because of what Feng Yuan said — no Divine Beast dared gamble on what the restarted world would look like, thus regardless of their willingness to intervene in the war, they all agreed to ensure the Main World wouldn’t fall into the hands of the time tributary.
As for the incident in Maomu City, Agunas did not understand why such a large-scale Time Storm had occurred without them sensing anything, but it was sure the matter there was significant.
Although a large number of Divine Beasts could be mobilized to assist, doing so would leave the Main World defenseless, and if this was a diversionary trap, rash actions would only result in falling for it.
"Time Storm? Just what are they doing?"
Lorraine Tower puzzled but not denying Agunas’s proposal, this time having the Time Divine Beast handle other Divine Beasts guarding different regions seemed like a good choice.
After all, that Time Storm, besides the Time Attribute Divine Beast, other Divine Beasts were difficult to deal with.
Unlike Feng Yuan and Najia, Tamur’s method of breaking through the Time Storm was simple and crude.
As a Divine Beast of the Epoch, Tamur could temporarily bring the vanished epochs to manifest, the appearance of the Mythical Era strongly suppressing the breakthrough of the Time Storm creating a mythical path leading into the Time Storm.
On this path composed of gigantic stone blocks, numerous Divine Runes and inscriptions from the Mythical Era were engraved. Running on this stone path, everyone felt a powerful force continuously erupting.
"I cannot unfold the Mythical Era within."
After speaking, Tamur floated alongside everyone, even as the Mountain Rock Pig King sped along, Tamur leisurely kept pace.
The end of the stone path soon appeared, Qi Chen and the group saw the void and the floating lands within it, somewhat exasperatedly saying
"What are these?"
"I don’t know, but this shouldn’t be a scene from the same era."
Zhanzheng Qichen said, looking at Dou Yanlan, asking
"Can you sense where he is?"
"No, I don’t have such means, but this village isn’t recent; we can ignore it."
Dou Yanlan shook her head, saying as she started analyzing, Zhanzheng Qichen frowned and looked at Tamur asking
"Can you extend the road?"
"I can."
Tamur nodded gently, the stone path extending forward but soon stopped again, unlike Feng Yuan, Qi Chen and his group judged the floating lands based on appearance to decide which era they belonged to.
Here, even Tamur couldn’t use authority to directly perceive the era the lands corresponded to; they could only infer based on appearance, as for walking each land?
Seems fine, but they didn’t intend to, as no one knew what might be on the lands, should they get trapped there, it would hinder their rescue efforts; they hadn’t forgotten the purpose of this mission.
"Are these islands projections of the land at different times?"
Veronia curiously asked Feng Yuan, who was chasing the golden text along, Feng Yuan replied without looking back
"Yes."
"What happens if these projections are attacked?"
"Nothing will happen, because they are false illusions projected using history as a template; if you dismantle them, it won’t impact the real history."
"Though doing so inside would trigger a secondary Time Storm, causing all lands to rearrange, so don’t act recklessly."
Feng Yuan thought of something and warned, though forcefully breaking the thing doesn’t have severe side effects, if it leads to a rearrangement, it demands rerouting.
As for reducing illusions to easily find the target?
Feng Yuan could only say this thinking was too naive; inside the Time Storm, such illusions were abundant, had it not been for the Time Storm’s limited accommodation, it could fill the place.
Thus, eliminating wrong answers via destruction was a futile method; if not for this, Feng Yuan wouldn’t resort to tracking.
Looking ahead, Feng Yuan warned
"Up ahead is the destination!"
