Xia Tian’s flight was yesterday; he should already be on the other side of the world by now. Gu Qingxin sat up, hugging the quilt, a little worried. She didn’t want her son to run into that man at all.

But her son had been especially smart since he was little. He had his own opinions and ideas about how to do things. As his mommy, she had been relying on him these past few years and hadn’t been able to give him the best care. She should respect his thoughts and decisions.

Forcing herself not to overthink it, Gu Qingxin got out of bed, washed up briefly, and went to make breakfast. A happy, gentle smile stayed on her beautiful lips the whole time.

Gu Qingxin was already twenty-five. The little girl she used to be had become a charming young woman, and ever since she became a mom, there was a softness at the corners of her eyes and brows.

She hadn’t bothered to dress up on purpose. Even her long, beautiful hair was just casually tied up, with a few wispy bangs hanging over her forehead.

Though a bit messy, it had a special kind of appeal. The faint smile on her face gave people a sense of nobility and calm.

After making breakfast, Gu Qingxin went to the children’s room next to the master bedroom. She pushed the door open and walked in, came over to a princess bed and sat down. Her hand gently caressed her daughter’s face as she called, "Baobei, time to get up and have breakfast."

Hearing her mommy’s gentle call, Gu Baobei immediately opened her eyes. Her big, dark, bright eyes seemed to hold a spring of water, so clear they were filled with all the innocence in the world.

"Good morning, Mommy." Gu Baobei sleepily sat up, her voice soft and milky as she raised her little fair hands to rub her eyes.

"Good morning, Baobei." Gu Qingxin leaned over and lightly kissed her daughter’s forehead.

She stood up, took a new set of clothes from her daughter’s wardrobe, walked back to the bed, and said, "Raise your hands, let’s take off your pajamas first."

"Mommy, I want to do it myself." As Gu Baobei spoke, she took off her pajamas on her own and put on the new clothes.

After Gu Baobei finished dressing herself, Gu Qingxin picked her up and carried her out of the bedroom, setting her down on a chair in the dining room.

There was a knock at the door. Gu Baobei instantly broke into a happy grin. She looked at her mom excitedly. "It must be Daddy Qian Chen. Mommy, go open the door!"

Gu Qingxin fondly ruffled her daughter’s hair, then stood up and went to open it.

Sure enough, just as Baobei had guessed, Rong Qianchen was standing outside with breakfast in his hand.

"How come you’re here so early?" Gu Qingxin let him in.

"Xia Tian’s gone out of town. I was afraid you wouldn’t wake up on time to make breakfast for Baobei." Rong Qianchen walked in, put the breakfast on the table, and bent down to kiss Baobei on the forehead.

"Good morning, Baobei."

"Good morning, Daddy Qian Chen." Baobei’s eyes curved into crescents as she smiled, clearly delighted to see him.

Baobei looked seventy percent like Gu Qingxin and thirty percent like Beiming Han. This little girl had inherited all of her parents’ good features and even upgraded them. You could already tell she was a beauty in the making; when she grew up she would definitely be a stunning, breathtaking beauty.

Gu Qingxin took some bowls and plates and transferred the breakfast Rong Qianchen had bought onto them. Watching Rong Qianchen and Baobei chatting away, she shook her head. "If I didn’t know better, I’d really think you were Baobei’s biological daddy."

"Baobei is my biological daughter to begin with! Don’t you dare try to deny it." Rong Qianchen started feeding Baobei.

"What does ’biological daughter’ mean?" Gu Baobei looked at him innocently and asked.
