Chapter 904: Samira venting her anger.

Strax’s room remained shrouded in a silence rare by Asgardian standards. Even so high up within the central fortress, it was still possible to hear, in the distance, the muffled noises of the industrial city working tirelessly. The distant sound of locomotives pierced the cold afternoon wind like constant metallic echoes. Chimneys continued to spew smoke against the gray sky while thousands of people worked outside, keeping the monstrous urban sprawl in motion.

But inside, finally, there was peace.

The enormous dark curtains blocked some of the outside light, leaving the room enveloped in a comfortable twilight. The fireplace burned slowly near the stone wall, spreading warmth throughout the spacious room, too large for any ordinary human to consider normal. Maps, documents, and some weapons were scattered near a side table, clearly ignored the moment Strax entered the room.

He didn’t even have the patience to completely change his clothes.

The journey... The battles... The constant tension... The situation in Ouroboros... The problems in Asgard...

Everything was finally beginning to weigh on his body.

Strax simply collapsed onto the enormous bed like a creature too exhausted to continue functioning. The mattress sank under his weight as he let out a long, tired sigh, running a hand through his white hair before slowly closing his golden eyes.

For a few seconds, he still heard the sounds of the city.

The distant whistle of a locomotive.

Metal being hammered.

Wind sweeping through the industrial towers.

Then everything slowly began to fade away.

His body relaxed.

His muscles finally gave way after weeks of working with practically no real rest. And a few minutes later, Strax was already fast asleep.

[Meanwhile...]

Far from the industrial districts of Asgard, beyond the trade trails and the regions partially rebuilt after the fall of the Beast Monarch, the north remained wild.

Cruel.

Violent.

The mountainous forests still bore deep scars from the recent war. Gigantic trees had been destroyed. Entire sections of vegetation remained burned. Some regions still exuded that heavy smell of ancient blood mixed with residual mana from monstrous creatures.

And high in a mountain range shrouded in dense fog, the brutal sound of something being hurled against rock echoed violently through the forest.

BOOOOM.

Fragments of rock exploded down the mountain.

A gigantic creature crashed through part of the cliff amidst blood, broken scales, and a deafening roar of pure fury.

The Wyvern beat its wings violently as it tried to regain its balance in the air, spitting dark blood between its monstrous teeth. Its body was enormous, covered in gray scales hardened like natural steel. Its claws tore at the cliff face as it turned its animalistic eyes to the woman responsible for this.

Samira. She simply wiped a bit of blood from the corner of her mouth while slowly cracking her neck.

The cold wind ruffled her dark hair as she stood atop the rock formation, completely relaxed before the colossal creature.

"You hit hard," she commented casually.

The Wyvern responded with a furious roar capable of making entire trees tremble.

Samira simply smiled.

"Great."

Then she vanished.

The ground exploded beneath her feet.

The absurd speed transformed her advance into a black blur crashing across the cliff. The Wyvern barely managed to spread its wings before Samira emerged directly in front of its head.

And then she landed a punch.

The impact was monstrous.

BOOOOM.

The creature’s skull spun violently to the side as blood exploded between its fangs. The shockwave sent snow and rocks tumbling down from the higher parts of the mountain.

The Wyvern roared in pain and tried to bite her instantly, but Samira simply grabbed one of the creature’s fangs with her bare hand.

The ground beneath her feet cracked immediately.

"Hold on there, you damned lizard."

The creature beat its wings with absurd violence, trying to lift her along with them while striking with its gigantic claws.

Samira dodged the first.

Then the second.

Then she punched the Wyvern’s jaw with enough force to produce a grotesque crack of breaking bones.

The monster partially collapsed onto its own nest, destroying piles of wood, bones, and corpses scattered across the mountainside.

Because the whole place looked like a massacre.

Mutilated bodies of adventurers, merchants, and smaller creatures were scattered among rocks and remnants of destroyed armor. Some carcasses had already been partially devoured. Others remained practically intact, frozen by the mountain cold.

There was blood everywhere.

And the smell was awful.

At the top of a gigantic, partially destroyed tree trunk near the nest, Xyn watched the whole scene with utter disinterest while swinging one leg in the air.

She was holding an apple.

And she seemed genuinely entertained watching Samira exchange blows with a colossal flying creature.

"She really decided to go for the punches," Xyn commented calmly before biting into the fruit. freēwēbηovel.c૦m

Nearby, Agnes completely ignored the battle while carefully examining the inside of the nest.

Unlike Samira, she seemed much more focused on the surrounding structure than on the crazed Wyvern trying to destroy half the mountain.

"Interesting..."

She pushed aside some layers of burnt branches while analyzing the gigantic eggs hidden in the center of the nest.

There were seven.

All enormous.

Covered in a tough gray shell with faint bluish markings glistening in certain parts.

Agnes slowly adjusted her glasses as she observed one of them more closely.

"Extremely stable mana..."

Behind her, some Asgardian soldiers nervously watched the monstrous fight unfolding a few meters ahead.

Another punch from Samira made part of the mountain tremble.

One of the men swallowed hard.

"Lady Agnes..."

"Hm?"

"Are you sure this is safe?"

She didn’t even lift her eyes from the eggs.

"No."

The soldier seemed even more worried.

Another monstrous roar echoed through the entire mountain.

BOOOOOM.

Samira rammed the Wyvern against a rocky wall using only brute physical strength. The creature tried to take flight again, but she grabbed one of its hind legs before it could.

Then she pulled it back against the ground.

The impact opened a whole crater in the hillside.

Xyn watched this, slowly chewing the apple.

"She really likes to solve problems with violence."

Another nearby soldier automatically replied:

"That’s literally her personality."

"Fair enough."

Agnes finally stood up, wiping her hands.

"The eggs are intact."

One of the soldiers blinked a few times.

"So... are we really going to take them?"

"Of course."

She quickly watched the Wyvern being beaten down the mountain by Samira before continuing:

"After killing so many adventurers and merchants near the Asgardian routes, it would be a waste to let something like this disappear."

The man looked nervously at the enormous eggs.

"They’ll grow."

"That’s the point."

"They’re Wyverns."

"Yes."

"Huge Wyverns."

"Exactly."

The soldier was silent for a few seconds.

"That sounds like a really bad idea."

Agnes smiled discreetly.

"Probably." She then adjusted her glasses while examining the eggs again.

"But imagine the usefulness."

This even made some soldiers hesitate.

Because she was right.

Aerial mounts of that size would be absurdly valuable to Asgard.

Patrolling.

Exploration.

Military transport.

Combat.

And considering the monstrous growth of the city, possessing trained flying creatures would completely change the mobility of the Asgardian forces.

"Move everything carefully," Agnes ordered calmly.

The soldiers immediately began to act.

Reinforced ropes were prepared while small protected carts were brought closer to the nest. Some men still nervously watched Samira beating the Wyvern in the background like a chaotic entity from a nightmare.

The creature tried to breathe fire this time.

Samira literally punched the burst of flames.

The explosion illuminated half the mountain.

Xyn remained seated on the log.

"She’s having too much fun."

Agnes didn’t even argue.

Because it was true.

Samira looked absurdly happy.

The Wyvern finally managed to strike her with one of its gigantic claws, tearing part of her clothing and throwing her against a rocky wall.

The creature roared furiously as it lunged to finish the attack.

Then Samira began to laugh within the dust.

A dangerously animated sound.

"Oh..."

She emerged from the wreckage, wiping blood from her face.

"...now it’s fun."

Even the soldiers shuddered.

The Wyvern clearly realized too late that it had angered something far worse than itself.

Samira lunged again.

This time faster.

Much faster.

She dodged the creature’s monstrous bite and appeared directly above its head before delivering a brutal blow using both fists together.

BOOOOOOM.

The Wyvern’s skull was smashed against the mountain floor.

The shockwave shattered nearby trees.

Rocks tumbled down the cliff face.

And the creature’s roar was interrupted by a grotesque sound of breaking bones.

Silence.

Only the cold wind remained, sweeping through the mountainous forest.

Samira breathed heavily as she sat atop the colossal body of the defeated Wyvern.

Covered in blood.

Completely destroyed.

And smiling like a satisfied psychopath.

"Okay," she said, wiping the corner of her mouth. "That helped a lot with the stress."

Xyn clapped slowly from the tree trunk.

"Nice job."

"Thank you."

Agnes observed the dead creature for a few seconds before finally commenting:

"That one really was responsible for the attacks."

Samira climbed down from the corpse, slowly cracking her shoulders. "Definitely."

She then looked around at the numerous bodies scattered across the nest.

The amused smile faded slightly.

"He massacred quite a few people..."

Agnes nodded slowly.

"Many merchants."

"And adventurers."

"Probably entire caravans."

The wind swept across the mountaintop again as the soldiers carefully finished moving the eggs to the enormous reinforced carriage near the trail.

Samira watched this for a few seconds before raising an eyebrow.

"Are you really going to raise these things?"

"Yes."

"Do you realize that this seems extremely irresponsible?"

Agnes adjusted her glasses calmly.

"Perfectly."

Xyn bit into another apple.

"I support it."
