Chapter 1479: Chapter 63: Duel

"Book Knight!"

At this moment, Emhardt, who was conducting an "on-site investigation" rather unnaturally beside Elliog Castle, heard a call from not far away.

He was slightly stunned, then turned his head to look in the direction facing the cliff, and saw Moli leaping towards him wearing golden armor,

"Moli?"

"Click!"

Moli’s movements were nimble. Compared to how Fisher had just descended like a meteor crashing, her actions were as silent as a light feather, only her eye-catching golden armor made a crisp collision sound due to inertia.

Emhardt scanned her body in a simple yet extremely practical golden armor devoid of any decoration, this wasn’t the first time he had seen such armor. The originally laid-back and homebody Whale-man species actually had no concept of "armor," but due to a unique Whale-man, such items inevitably left traces all over the world, and Emhardt had seen many styles of golden armor described in relics.

However, it was his first time seeing Moli wearing such armor, which seemed somewhat incongruous with her gentle temperament.

After she landed, her golden armor was stored into her hair clip one by one, and the Moli familiar to Emhardt finally fully returned,

"Book Knight, where is Mr. Fisher? Isn’t he with you?"

"He... um, well..."

Emhardt hesitated and, after a moment of contemplation, turned his head to glance at the castle standing in the shadow of the mountain behind him, then changed the subject,

"I didn’t expect you to come so fast, Fisher was just talking about going to find your location, worried that you and that Kado person might be trapped in that door, we too had some effort getting in..."

"Well... it wasn’t really any problem, I wasn’t stopped at all, someone seemed to be guiding me inside, I just followed what she said."

"She? That’s odd, Fisher and I encountered a woman, but you encountered a woman as well, wasn’t it supposed to be the opposite version of us?"

Moli didn’t understand Emhardt’s confusion, she just tilted her head and said,

"No, I didn’t actually see anyone, just seemed like someone was whispering in some strange language in my ear about where to go. The odd part is, I understood what the girl was saying even though I’ve never heard that language before."

"Hmm, could it be that everyone sees something different..."

Moli also couldn’t say for sure, but she was more concerned now about where Mr. Fisher was,

"So, where is Mr. Fisher then? Didn’t you say he was looking for my location?"

Emhardt’s square-shaped body stiffened slightly, and after a second of hesitation, he sighed and told Moli,

"Alright, he’s now... in that Elliog Demon’s castle behind us, the demon’s power covers the entire area, and Fisher had some... past connection with it, so he went in to see if he could find your location, and maybe seek her help."

Moli did not notice that Emhardt seemed to emphasize the word "connection," as if reminding her of something.

If it were another woman, perhaps she would understand the significance of Emhardt’s reminder; unfortunately, Moli was not another woman, and she simply nodded, then intended to proceed towards the castle.

After walking a good distance, she turned back doubtfully to look at Emhardt, who was still floating silently near the stone, and asked,

"Aren’t you coming, Book Knight?"

"...Haha, you go ahead, I’m fine here, haha..."

"But why?"

"I’m hot."

Moli was unsure whether Emhardt felt hot, even though the knowledge of the Angel Holy Object given by Xuan Can was not included in her conscious teachings of the Tear-Drop Holy Artifact.

She could only take Emhardt’s words at face value, respecting his wishes despite her curiosity, and continued alone towards the castle within the fence ahead.

Crossing the already opened fence, Moli noticed a wooden sign discarded on the ground, and further on, the castle door was ajar, evidently proving that Fisher had indeed entered through here. However, the castle’s Black Obsidian Giant Door was so heavy, even with the door slightly open, it was still closed enough that she could neither see nor hear what was inside.

She reached out to gently touch the nearly closed door, felt its temperature, but did not immediately push it open. She glanced back at Emhardt hiding quietly near a stone outside, not understanding why he was reluctant to follow her.

But at that moment, her body acted faster than her thoughts, and her hand had already opened the door.

The dim light inside the castle flickered, carrying a faint smell of saltpeter that wafted into Moli’s nose, as if opening a door to a new world.

Next, a coat fluttered in first and landed lightly in front of her entrance, making her freeze in place, as if her brain had shriveled.

Is this... Mr. Fisher’s coat?

At this moment, her usually thinking-deficient brain began to slow down further, only instinctively trying to identify to whom the clothes on the floor belonged.
